That's an awesome looking trail shoe! Not sure I'll ever move away from Altra for the trail, but never say never! Love the video effects you use on these shoe vids...keep up the great work!
Thank you Jane! I’ve heard good things from Altra. Their flat offset shoes are nice to run in. If it’s been working for you that’s good! Sometimes it’s better to stick with what’s comfortable.
Hi. You mentioned coming half a size down but I actually tried this and as a consequence lost both my big toe nails!! Lock in is great but on serious trails and descents your toes are up against it so wouldn’t you suggest that little bit of give?
Sorry to hear about that. My regular size for other shoes were too big for me on these. Maybe it's just my feet but i was sliding around especially when stepping on terrain or going downhill. Another give away was that my laces ended up being too long. When i went down half a size it fit perfect for me. I could run better but all this could just be my feet but hopefully the store will let you return and get the bigger size.
@@RunWithJ I totally get you. I got the next size up later and you are right there is a bit of movement. It’s that compromise and to which one you are willing to live with. Both have there negatives 😁
Oh that’s good! Yeah I didn’t like that feeling and I felt like it contributed to my turned ankles so I personally prefer a more tighter fit but maybe it just fits my feet better that way.
I found the Trail 3 to fit true to size; I even tried tried on a half size up due to my wider forefoot, and it didn't feel sloppy. Nike: please, please consider any variation of a Vibram MegaGrip and dump the current outsole. The fit is great on the trail 3, and the React is second to none for trail shoes. Nike would have a slam dunk if they'd slap on a Vibram outsole.

I’m glad the size worked for you. The 3 did improve on some of the features and is a very comfortable trail shoe.
