I lost my dad a year ago and he absolutely loved showaddywaddy, I just bought their gold album this weekend, I had great memories of me and my dad dancing to their music when I was little
I turn 60 this year and remember like yesterday Showwaddywaddy winning New Faces talent show on ITV. They were a fantastic band, comprising of great singers, great musicians and great stage presence with their colourful outfits and dance movements.
I remember Romeo`s flat above the newsagents on the cross roads in a South Leicestershire village. His selection of drape jackets in the window always made me smile as a kid.
This group is absolutely amazing, the songs costumes and harmony's are so unbelievable, the way everything has been lately, this type of music is just what we need to always brighten our days. 🤗.
I remember as a child watching my mam dance around to showaddywaddy they were her favourite band sadly my mam passed away 23 years ago age 54, but I still listen to them as it reminds me of her
Went to see these guys a couple of times in the late 70's and have to say they put on brilliant live performances, Dave Bartram was a great front man. Remember this one in particular, as the auditorium floor was shaking to the beat of all the young ladies dancing in the aisles, and the atmosphere was terrific, everyone having a great time. Good memories , but such a long time ago now!
First band I ever saw live, seen them many times, and this, in my opinion showcases their talents, not just as a superb group but individually, rewatch this focusing on individuals and you’ll understand,
Showaddywaddy the band that got me into becoming a Ted and discovering rock n roll rockabilly, cheers guys buddy gask was the best, me n my mate were invited onto the stage in 1982 with them when they saw us dancin like them in front of the stage!
I remember them on New Faces I was 11 then I went onto buy all their singles (45s) and LPs starting with Under the Moon of Love. I'm still listening now at 61!
You are same age as my late sister. She went to their concert in Brighton in 1978 a year before she died and she had a huge crush on Dave Bartram and my mum sent a message backsrage to him explainjng my sister had cancer and he was kind enough to give my sister a bag of free merchandise and my sister didn't stop talking about that night shr got close to Dave, Awww. 🙏😢
Saw them in 1980 at parr hall warrington then again 10 years ago at the old willows in Salford what a great band I remember racing them down the m62 they was in there mini bus after the gig it was ace
This was my era, Showaddywaddy, Mud, Slade Alvin Stardust etc..kids now don't know what they missed, such a shame, in my humble opinion! Times change eh?
You can't get better ,but to have been around in the 50's to hear these doo wop bands, the platters the sky larks the drifters and those that have not been mentioned, would of been something to have admired , no auto tune in those days , sonny Williams vocals of the platters and the late rudy Lewis of the drifters who past away so young ,there vocals ,sonny Williams singing my prayer and listen to rudy Lewis sing to the music of stranger on a shore absolutely sublime
@@Kelly-nm4kw Hi Kelly, luv this track and reminds me of the time n Fab to be young and luvly memories of my parents too. Remember Show WaddyWaddy winning New Faces if only we could turn time back to this era. Kind regards Glynn n greetings from Stourbridge West Midlands
About 8 years ago I tuck my big brother to a place called M.F.N as we walked up to the bar I asked my bro if he reckernised the man behind the bar . He looked at me with the biggest smile as he reckernised him as one of men from his favourite bands Showaddywaddy it was like watching a little kid in toy store ,he couldn't stop talking about it for weeks
Yes, a band that are still the same now and all those years ago when they became well known. Wearing the same coloured suits but just getting older. They still sing the same well known songs that are still catchy! Old songs are still good songs.

How to lighten the darkness with fun music and an innocent time where cares could be managed life was lived to the full. Thank you and I am glad. I lived through this period of musical fun
It was great to see and hear the gang fade the song out. Some 'takes' had "....I Doooooo" for an ending I know the UK single faded out as did the track on their Red LP. 76-78 Maybe at some point they recorded an alternate ending, 'I Wonder Why'
You should have been there or you haven't been around 😊 still great music

Its 2020
And Showaddywaddy are STILL relevant. Quite right. Cracking song. The brilliant Buddy Gask on the baritone underpin. Class
