      When I was a kid I preferred MC-9s and 96A3s and didn't like the MC-12 because i thought that it had hard seats (In service with Greyhound). Now I appreciate how solid of a coach workhorse it is/was...

    Yeah, as stated below any MC-12 is originally a Greyhound. So they will have mileage, and have been everywhere. The MC-12 was made specifically for Greyhound for the cost. Basically a 96A3 frame with MC-9 bodywork. All proven components and cheaper than consumer busses MCI were selling when these were made. Same with the G4500, it's also specially a Greyhound coach.

      Yes and the MC12 has the same body structure the MC9.. the MC5,7,8 were much different in body structure. I love those old MCIs I have an MC-7 conversion LOVE IT

    Another difference with the MC9 and MC12 is the MC12 is more round on the top above the windshield then the MC9. And I think the MC12s were only built for Greyhound but many companies bought them used after Greyhound sold them off.

    those two videos of the mci mc12 buses were ex greyhound lines buses before greyhound stripped their colors red white and blue paint schemes along with their mascot and the name to sell them to any start up bus companies

    All weren't Greyhound. Many were built for prisoner transport and can be found with less than 200k miles in them in California. Typically with the 10.3L C10
    CAT. Looking at one now, a 99 with the Series 60.

    MCI did offer a conversion kit to change the dual round headlights on older MCI's to the new dual square lights.

      Ohhh dude.... lmao, this company doesnt have the good enough "budget" per se, to "maintain" CNG buses, nor fuel them, theyre significantly much harder to maintain due to their added complexity lol.

    Our mc9 has square headlights???

    • @shnorth888
      @shnorth888 6 лет назад

      You could buy the square headlights and retrofit them on older buses. All you had to do was unscrew the round light bezel and screw in the square ones. A bus company in my area done that with there MC-9;s to give them a more modern look.

      And the 89-up MC-9 Special had factory square headlights along with enclosed parcel racks.
