Definitely gonna have to bookmark this, my G403 is starting to have serious issues with scrolling, 90% of the time it can't tell if it's supposed to scroll up or down and I'm hoping it's just in need of cleaning. If not I'll have to start looking into a replacement
There is a firmware update, just type on youtube : Jo3yization logitech g403 When you open it you can add a little piece of cotton to tighten thefriction
@@J2ko Not to my knowledge, no. If anything the issue is just as bad as it was before I tried to clean it. I think the quality control on mine was just shoddy at best, but I can't say I blame it all on logitech since I got mine used from a good friend overseas
Hello! Where can I get a replacement for the side rubber grips? I would like to replace the whole rubber part, but Aliexpress usually sells a paste over grip tape which doesn't cover the part above the buttons.
4 years later, still a useful video watched it in part before and during a teardown to my own to cut some weight down ended up removing the entire dpi button and middle plastic bit rewatching again after its all put together to see if i can maybe chipm away at it and cut down some more grams im on the wireless version, went down to 92g, so -15 grams
By far my favourite mouse of all time! A shame the scroll assembly isn't easily user replaceable, I have replaced my old G403 (dead middle click) with a G502 X. The G502 X is a fantastic mouse but I already miss the feel of the scroll from the G403! I wish the resistance setting for the G502 X scroll was the same resistance as the G403 then it would be perfect, as it stands the high resistance setting is a little too clicky. Edit: I also miss the braded cable, I know it adds a small amount of weight but the look is far superior to a plain rubber coat!
Those deeper mouse feet are actually more-bothersome to remove because I can't get that inner layer out, just the cover.. TLDR can't get to the screws. Logitech why you gotta make this a pain for us
Thanks for the teardown video. My right mouse button was getting stuck. I used a knife to shave off some plastic off of the right tongue, which fixed the sticky click problem.
I've got a question, as it is hard to see on the video: My right click on the 403 doubleclicks when fully pressed. I wanted to install some slim material to make it impossible to fully press that button between the switch and the button. To get to the switch i guess i'll have to fully disassemble it? I've only opened it up once and didn't see an easy way to get there. Great teardown btw. Love the thoughts you gave.
@@Beardedbob yeah for my purposes i had to order a new one anyway, so have repaired it somewhat by now. It seems like the surrounding material around the button pressing surface has been worn away by use. I put in a plastic film around the switch surface to limit the press depth... we'll see how that goes. definitely an annoying form of wear and tear there.
I got 2 mouse right now,g102 and g403. Do you know the type of g403 switch is? It feel more comfy when I click instead of my g102 lightsync.I think I'd like to replace the g102 switch to the same g403 switches type
is there a decent way to fix a scroll wheel? My G403 scroll wheel started stuttering and reversing on me, not sure how to fix and don't really want to buy another one.
@@Beardedbob Do you have a link to a tutorial on how to do that? I love my G403, but I'm not sure how to change an encoder. Is that software or hardware?
i had the same issue. When i try to scroll down it often change the direction... so I tried to disasseble it and clean the scrolling wheel gears and now it seems to be working properly... not sure if this can help you too
What you think might be the problem if i bend or move the cable in certain way for mouse to work or else it'll disconnect? is it the cable or something wrong with motherboard.
I removed all the screws but the top half SIMPLY WILL NOT LIFT OFF. I have used increaingly more foece and twisting in all directions of the compass, but it simply does not move at all. What do I do???
My scrollwheel is not working properly, it scrolls randomly whatever direction I scroll it to and just for a small portion. Anyone know if I will be able to fix this by dissasembling and doing something to it?
