- I am a veteran of well over 200 cruises, both as a passenger, as a tour leader, as a cruise director, and as an entertainer. This video is my review of the beautifully rennovated Celebrity Millennium taken on a cruise in February 2022. My opinions are not reflective of any group or organization that I do business with.
Great video Al. Love to see a "cruising for newbies" or "cruising hacks" video.
My girl and I were on the Millenium 04/01 to 04/08. We were pampered nicely, and the ship and crew were awesome. This video has propelled me back to one of the best vacations that I've ever had. Apparently, I am cruising Virgin Cruises next year, or at least that is what I was told. If it were up to me, we'd be back on Celebrity.
I spent about a day aboard this ship when it was brand new. Overall, I like the Solstice changes. Even though I'm not big on specialty restaurants, others are, so I don't have any issue with them being put in. This ship introduced one specialty restaurant with an ocean liner theme. Many people don't seem to know that the Titanic had 2 similar sister ships, the Olympic and Britannic. The original specialty restaurant had paneling from the Olympic. It was very fancy and opulent and I don't know if anything on this ship equals it now. In fact, I don't love the changes made with all the beige and soft blues and lightening of the interior spaces. The Dining Room is nowhere near as elegant as it used to be. Rendezvous color schemes are paler and less rich. The casino is nowhere near what it was. Michael's is gone to regular passengers and is exclusive to suite passengers but it was a richly appointed lounge for ALL passengers. And the ship seems noisier now. Celebrity used to have zero announcements. And the music played, if any, was at a low volume. This feels a less sophisticated ship than it was originally. I don't mind refurbishing and maybe changing dated areas but the areas weren't dated. They been changed to the IMO inferior Edge style of ship and that's very unfortunate. I like the changes to the staterooms but not the public areas. They didn't need to "revolutunonize" the ship, just maintain and refurbish worn areas.

Stay away from this ship unless you want sewer smell like rooms and horrible customer service at the guest relations.
