Oh this is gonna be a rabbit hole you are going to enjoy, in my own opinion Dragon Ball Abridged in terms of story, characters and even development is so much better than the actual original. And this abridged series along with its jokes just keep getting better and better

Let's be honest, as much as we love DBZ , Toriyama was only good at two things, "borrowing" stories and folklore, and forgetting his own story/plot points.
Hope you enjoy, the start is kinda rought compared to what the Abridge end up becoming, but it's still a nice watch.

There’s an end-credit scene in every episode and movie of DBZA
Keep in mind there was a whole series before Z....OG Dragon Ball. Bulma and Yamcha were together for most of that series. But yeah you're going down a rabbit hole with this Abridged...this ends up becoming so good that it's practically just a new Dub. Season 1 is infinitely quotable, but the improve so much in Season 2...production value, editing and the writing becomes top notch. For something that was just a fun fan made parody, took on a life of its own.

Popo is based on the north africa folklore of "Djinn" aka Genie's. The folklure discribes them as having coal black skin. The giant red lips I do not have an explaination for lol

Oh this is great. Hope you stick with it. The early episodes all have their moments, but really picks up steam season 2. After that, I strongly prefer it to the original

This abridged series is a mint!! You’re in for a real, real treat! All the episodes are great and get better and better. Episodes 1-10 are a bit “dated” but still very good!

Be warned, first season is rough, basically just youtube shitposts, then it becomes a legitimate series in its own right by season 2, and only gets better.

A little heads up when you watched the next episode put on the captions on English (Canada) trusts me you won’t regret it but if you do I’m sorry
I’m going to say the opposite and NOT recommend the English (Canada) subtitles, at least not yet. Those subtitles are written by fans and add a lot of jokes to the dialogue. They’re funny, but they’re not recommended for someone watching DBZA for the first time because they spoil plot points and can be overwhelming. They’re best watched on a second viewing by someone who has already seen DBZA.
