- 1950年（昭和25年）：函館駅 - 釧路駅間を函館本線・根室本線経由で運行する準急列車に「狩勝」の列車名を与えられる。
狩勝（かりかち）とは、北海道旅客鉄道が滝川駅・旭川駅 - 富良野駅 - 帯広駅間を根室本線を経由して運転する快速列車。
旭川駅 - 帯広駅間を約3時間40分で結び、1日1往復。
富良野線区間（旭川駅 - 富良野駅）は普通列車として運転される。
旭川駅発着便に使用されるキハ150形。
幾寅駅の所在する地名より。地名は、アイヌ語の「ユク・トラシ・ペツ」（鹿の上る川）に由来する。
映画『鉄道員（ぽっぽや）』の中では石炭輸送路線終端駅の「幌舞駅」として登場する。駅舎は映画のロケーションのために改装されている。また駅前には、映画内で「キハ12 23」として登場したキハ40 764号気動車（ぽっぽや号）の一部分（前頭部）が、2005年（平成17年）に廃車の後に設置・保存されている。

I have you to thank for all. I am an ex 'poppoya' myself, so I found the film very poignant and heart warming.
