I drove my Model Y Performance through a section of highway that hadn't been plowed in a few hours by the city during a Wisconsin winter. Despite having some winter tires on, I started to slip a little bit, and could feel the car in the beginning stages of a spin out. The car's aggressive traction control took over, and alternated spinning some of the wheels on the left and right depending on which direction the car was facing. So while it seemed like I was going to spin out, the car did everything in its power to prevent that, and eventually I was able to right myself and continue driving.

Really? Then you have never driven before EQE with air suspension, AWD and rear-wheel steering (by lower speed in opposite and at higher speed in similar), alike some city buses.
Saw lots of 3s and Ys making steady progress in Canada’s recent snowfall, but also several struggling and spinning their wheels trying to make progress up snowing/icy mild slopes and out of snowy street side parking spots. I imagine that snow tires would’ve helped quite a bit. (Admittedly, all drivers don’t have the same competence level, either.) By contrast, a Prius (AWD?) easily maneuvered out of one of those same parking spots. Anyway, love seeing the high EV adoption rate. PS, a Volvo Polestar looked at home in the snow, as, I guess, one would expect. :)
This is all about tires. I drive my model 3 with studded winter tires in northern Norway, and I have zero issues with traction on snow and ice. No car can drive safely on snow/ice without proper tires.
