I apologize for my English (I translate google translator). Are Yamaha HPH-MT8 Headphones Suitable for Bass-Rich Electronic Music? How developed is the low-frequency spectrum? I really want to take these headphones, but I'm not sure that they are suitable for the music I listen to (artists: Emancipator, Side Liner, Zero Cult and others). Sound Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5.
I'm a newbie, so sorry if this is a dumb question. I think I have decided on the MT5's and was wondering how to determine which alternative earpads will fit them. Is there a measurement or type I should be looking for? Any info you can provide would be helpful. Thanks
Which is better Yamaha or Bose in general? I am going to buy a headphone. I know about the QC 35 noise cancellation. it is too expensive. is there a headphone from Yamaha could be close to QC 35 and less expensive?
I'd say that even the mt5 are "better" than the QC35 simply because of the increase in clarity and detail. Ignore the mt7, go with either the mt5 or mt8
These are studio headphones and bose I believe are not so make sure you know what your shopping for because different types of headphones will offer different experiences.
Good review!!! I was wondering if you ever tried the the Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro...if so what's your take on those vs the MT8 you just reviewed? thanks in advance
+Do Fosho Thanks! I haven't used those, but I am a fan of the BD joints for sure. I'd have to get them in to compare directly. I think BD is the most comfortable, love their earpieces.
I'm not sure what you mean? Are you asking which one sounds the best when listening to piano? I don't know about that specifically but I still prefer the MT8 overall.
Bernard Ryan these are intended for a different purpose: while the pro500 is for a stylish, music enjoyment, the mt8 comes with less bass and more prominent mids, to make easy the studio work. The pro500 sounds very lively, the mt8 is a magnifier, so you can hear even the defect of mastering
I'm going to give the MT5's a shot with better pads - I'm assuming the Brainwavz pads will fit. Definitely mades a big difference in the comfort level for the ATH-M40X. Based purely on what you've said here, it would appear that Yamaha have made a conscious decision re comfort with the HT8 over their cheaper siblings - makes sense. Thanks for the vid.
The MT-5's are great, don't get me wrong. I have had them for almost a year. After I have these on for about an hour they hurt my ears, after 2 hours its almost unbearable. I had to stretch them out by hand.
I have them for about 2 weeks and I can feel the driver on my right ear. Changing pad with these headphones may help but I don't know how much will frequency response change. Overall they're perfect.
@@SoundsAndGear I'm using stock earpads. I don't know which other earpads will be more comfortable but don't change sound so much. Do you have any experience with other earpads on HPH MT-5?
I'm juggling between the MDR 1AM2 and the MT8, but with brainwavz leatherette earpads, I want maximum clarity, detail and cleanliness of the sound, without sacrificing too much bass
I guess you've probably made your choice by now, but I had a chance to try both and the MT8 seemed to me like it had a much tighter sound. However, it was also a fair bit brighter on the top end, so I didn't like it for listening to classical, folk or rock that much without EQ or a pad mod. It had been stellar it games, though I ended up returning it as it sounded kind of like my modified Fostex T40RP mk3... and now I'm thinking of getting them again as modded the Fostex again to get a different sound signature.
@@Slapo007 ooh yes i did, I ended up going for the 1am2 cause of the comfort, I might get the mt8 later on though, but only when I can afford yaxi stpad2s along with them. I'm a student, so money doesn't come by so quickly for me.
I tried the m20x up to m50x and mt5 at guitar center. It was no contest. The mt5 was better than all of them. It had the flattest sound and a nice warm midrange. The m50x was just terrible. Sure they have a lot of bass but I didnt like the sound of it. But the worst part was their top end was too strong. The m40x were better. More neutral bass, good midrange but again, too much top end. Surprisingly the m20x was my favorite out of the ath headphones. It sounded the most neutral to me and did not have the bright top end.
A lot of reviews I've seen reckon the MT7 is slightly too forceful in the bass, so when you're producing you have to compensate for that a little bit. My last pair, Focal Spirit Pros (great, but they have a weak point where the band flexes above the cup connections and they eventually split), were like that too. It's good, in a way; until the bass hits that familiar "too big" point, you know you've got more work to do! But I prefer neutrality, so I think I'm going spend that bit extra to get the MT8s. Plus, I straight refuse to pay for headphones with a fixed cable like the MT7! Terrible design idea, given that the most likely parts to fail are the regularly flexed parts of a cable (where they join the unit, or just behind the plug). You want those to be easily replaceable.
SoundsAndGear I meant the MT5 my fault , I’m not sure if the creak was there in the beginning but I’ve only had them for a max of 3 months with very little use and the plastic creaks loud all through the inside so it overpowers all sound and is super annoying I was skeptic about upgrading to the MT8 due to that but right away I noticed they make no noise I just hope they don’t make noise in the future.
Thanks for the review. Many other reviews said the MT7 has a good flat response so it's good for mixing, but less pleasing as a general headset.
Cool, everyone has their own preference when it comes to how they hear things.
Great Video!!! Short sweet and to the point. I will be getting my pair of MT 8's for Black Friday!!!
Cool, thanks for watching!
Liked your review. I will get the MT8 for sure.

They are not bass heavy, they have a decent bass response but it isn't hyped at all.
sir please answer better yamaha mt5 or audio technica m40x-m50x?
Haven't used the Audio Technica so can't give an opinion.
better is subjective, as stated in the video.

I got MT7. Mid range is stronger but overall very natural and accurate sounds. I think I will get a MT8 soon.
Nice, thanks for watching!
Did you ever get the mt8s? And if not, how are you liking the mt7s?
@oliverviscoli I did not get the MT8, no stock. But MT7 is gd enough, the mid range is slightly higher in MT7. But overall is good.
I have a question tho?😅
Does all of this work on yamaha psr-E453?
Don't know what that is, but if it has a headphone jack then yes.
