Beautiful day for it, Stan. It's a shame Twiggy couldn't be with you. She was so excited when you came home. Just a gorgeous girl. ♥☺ Happy New Year Twig and Stan.
Heya!! Yes, poor Twiggy was a bit sad but always quick to forgive! Hope you are doing well and I saw you put up another pressure wash vid, great stuff. Hope 2025 treats you okay. See you soon!!
Desalination plants use a lot of energy is my understanding, any idea if they are using green power or partially using it? Did they say how this desalination plant is different to other plants around the world or is it the same tech as others use? How much power do they use annually/monthly(if they told you)? Good to let Twiggy stay home, too hot out I'm guessing for her.
Hey mate! Yes indeed about the power and yes it was too hot for Twig. I have not been a fan of the desal expansion as it seemed to be proposed the same time a golf course was approved… hmmm. When the news was announced the very first thing I asked the then CEO of SA Water was whether it was going to be solar powered - at that time she said yes. But of course it never happened. I’m actually less concerned now as all power in SA is pretty much renewable now anyway. As far as I know this is standard tech used all around the world using osmosis and pushing fresh water through a film. We are lucky here as the brine is dispersed by very strong currents, which is not the case at Port Lincoln where everyone is worried about the impact of a new plant on the bay there. Ps I saw your comment on Ludicrous live about sending a Tassie delegation to Everything Electric show in Sydney - hope to see you there or maybe at the Melbourne show. I also plan on heading back to Tassie soon!
@@Stan-at-KangarooIslandTV Hey Stan...thanks for the info. I don't know alot of about these plants but have heard they use a lot of power. Interesting it was announced the same time a golf course was approved. hmmm. Yeah Chuq(Charles) & I will be at the Melbourne event I can't make Sydney mainly due to budgetary constraints having just got back from a trip to Japan not long before. Melbourne is also easier coming from Tassie, unsure if I'll sail over or not as not a fan of big city driving and Melbourne has those hook-turns that freak me out unless I have a local in front to follow. :)
@ lol - yes I’m scared of hook turns too! Luckily did not encounter any when test driving the Polestar 3 at Port Melbourne and Richmond. I’ll see you in Melbourne hopefully!

@@Stan-at-KangarooIslandTV Thank you, my kind friend. 🙂
Happy new years take care
Hey friend! Thanks and good luck in 2025 to you. I enjoyed your recent walks.
Why are there no solar panels on the roof of the desal plant?
