Alan Tudyk is a talented actor, loved him in just about everything he's done. This looks like it's worth taking a look-see.

It would have been quite easy to have the alien appear to the doctor when he was in the doorway and have him stumble back and over the railing and into the lake. Having the alien kill him was a deliberate decision so that the audience suspects him and whatever his mission is.
Yes, I was disappointed that the alien killed him with such little thought. He’s not a good guy!

Netflix cancels shows just as quickly. Only a few of their shows have gotten more than 3 seasons.

With the series starting soon and after seeing a few more commercials for it, I've decided despite my reservations I'm at least going to give the premier a look.

I finally got curious enough to watch, and wound up watching the first two episodes of this and my attitude has completely changed. I think I love this show! What the first 7 minutes of this don't convey is, while yes this show is a bit Dark, it's actually Dark Humor. I love the little thing with the little boy. Tudyk's depiction of the alien is wonderfully quirky and bizarre, but it works because he is the town's doctor. Anyway, I bet I have the rest of the current season watched within a week.

I would argue he didn't kill him. All he did was throw him in a lake. Sure its dead of winter and it should kill him but this is a TV show and they will do an episode where the human guy comes back.

I had never heard of or seen anything about this show until I watched this sneak peak. I happen to really like Alan Tudyk and it looks like an interesting show so I’ll give it a shot! 🤞🏼

The human did strike first. Maybe back home coming into a strange building without knocking is the norm. The alien also may not have known a dip in the icy water would kill him (if it did actually kill him).
I don't think he was a mr nobody but still wish he didn't kill the guy
crash lands from a lightning strike after crossing the vast expanse of space through and replicates the human anatomy in just the intro but is struggling to learn the language
@@MrSmcdhu , not really. Lightning can happen anywhere where there is a decent charge gradient, we observe it on other planets in our solar system, it's not particularly rare.
Yup. Space craft can handle solar and galatic cosmic storms, radiation etc but can't take a small lightning strike.

we see the part get knocked off the ship by lightning before the crash - over the snowy mountain range
He clearly stated that he lost precious cargo before the crash.
This is giving me quirky Eureka vibes, can't wait!
The alien committed the first act of aggression. Moving in, looming over, hands forward . . . any semi-intelligent biped knows this.
The Sheriff came across too strong for someone who needed help. Likewise the deputy was a too cartoony, sidekick to hold that position. I like the Human / Alien actor. Always enjoyed his work.
I didn't mind the black sheriff, though given the area of the country, a Native American (Ute, Navajo, Sioux) might have been more interesting (Big Red?). The plump deputy better have surprises up her sleeve (such as a black belt in some logical martial art), or she'll be just a stereotype.
No black guy [not in prison, and not in a Tarantino movie] is gonna go by the name, "Big Black." That scene was a poor attempt to develop the alien character as seeing everyone as human, instead of by skin color.
Just cause someone's is a doctor by profession (much less, rumor) doesn't make him summonable by a Sheriff's department, Big Black. "Oh, your doctor's dead? I don't care. Get off my property, Mr. Black."

Having Alan Tudyk in something automatically adds 2 to the IMDB score for me.
Looks good!! One suggestion the fact that he kill the original doctor can actually make him look evil!! This is just a pilot ( I don’t know what direction they wanna take with the show) but wouldn’t be easiest to just making him use left over DNA in the house ( hair, skim flakes) to copy him ( besides he only uses the house 1 month a year) so that means 11 months without the original doc around!! And one hell of a episode putting them both together!!! Well I guess we will see the series in the future ( I know that killing has to do with another alien looking for that precious cargo) so that’s something to look forward!!!
Gonna be hard to "blend into human society", with an alien that can't understand or talk the human language, and don't even have money on it? The killing scene also was cringey for me, but story wise it makes sense, because it gives the alien the time and place to hide out until it's ready to blend in. :)
I'm foreshadowing that the real doctor's body will pop up somewhere. ;)
Killing an -- as far as we know -- and as far as _he_ knew -- an innocent human was _not_ a good way to start the story. Blah.

I swear, with alan tudyk narrating doom patrol and resident alien, I think he might be heading to being this next gen's morgan freeman. I love his voice, his acting, and his subtle charisma, just the best

Lighting Strike? Planes get struck 🙄 by lighting constantly. They don't crash. Think aliens crossing the vast expanse of space would have tougher ships.

This could be good. Alan Tudyk is an excellent actor who respects the possibilities of science fiction so the show starts out on a solid footing.

Not your ‘Favorite Martian’ kinda show and I too was put off by intro scene that shows what looks like a murder...
The written description says "Patience, WASHINGTON", But literally in the first :30 seconds this dude says, "WELCOME TO PATIENCE COLORADO"! I feel like it's just a copy/paste job from the release via SYFY...which just confirms probably 99% of everyones belief that this will last ermm give or take, 2 weeks. IT STARTS WITH THE LITTLE THINGS! lol
