I'd imagine he "had" to learn it as he sings "full voice" which is rare, and tends to royally fuck up any attempted recordings if you have NO mic technique. I've no idea how these dudes aren't the biggest band in the world. Jay Buchanan's voice is the best I've heard since Vedder back in the day. He's moving every time you hear him.

His mic distance control in this performance just shows how loud it must be when he's belting, as you rightly said he's turned around and screaming at the wall to stop the VU needles bending on the desk...
Man, these guys are just legit. Jay helping with the mic at the beginning, it all seems so organic, so natural.. They should be much, much bigger than they are. Just amazing! What a voice!

You have surpasses The Black Crowes (your closest sound similar band) in my mind as far as diversity. Who cares about the charts? They have never been so manufactured. Come to Detroit for a few shows in a row and see what following you will get here.

They never fail to blow me away with their talent. These guys are superstars and have not got paid like it yet.They are blowing up quickly within the last three years. I am so glad That Metal Show turned me on to them and their music two years ago because I have been a major fan every since. TMS knew a year into this bands career that this was a band that was going to take over quickly, and you can see it a year later all the guests are saying it is their favorite up and coming band.
