Reggie invented the epic bat toss that we see today

I never get tired of watching the All Star Game home run at Tiger Stadium

I forgot how good a defensive fielder he was. I guess his only weakness was that he didn’t hit for average. He ran, fielded, threw very well and hit for power.

Pop ups in the Coliseum were often outs when they would've been out of play foul balls in most other stadiums.

He was at his peak in the opening months of 1974 and well on his way to a second MVP award when he got hurt in a senseless brawl with another A's player.

Very good all around player in his time with the A's. He was somewhat underrated as a fielder. He had great speed and an arm as well.

He's also struck out more times than any other batter in history.

Reggie was alot better defensive than the media ever gave to him and was more powerful than Mantle

He wasn’t bad defensively and he had a strong arm even with the Yankees. He usually caught what came his way. Media always remembers the screw ups.

damn rights his defensive skills were under-valued

Had more speed than they give him credit for too. Regularly stole 20+ bases in Oakland

Early in his career he had 9.6 in the 100 speed.. He was fast for a fairly big man.

Without steroids, Reggie Jackson hit the longest homerun I ever saw. Allstar game in Detroit. Not Mark McGuire or Barry Bonds...

    I love the story.
Before the '71 ASG, Sal Bando told Reggie: "Whatever you do, don't strike out
    and embarrass us".

Were all the pitchers he was going up against on steroids also? Like all the pitchers bonds and mcgwire were going up against.
