- Lot´s of wires run across my station area, the only problem is they are above grade and not connected to anything... But I will change this right now! Digging trenches across the station, soldering connections, installing isolating connectors and getting supervised by the track inspectors. All of that and much more can be seen in this video, please enjoy!

Very interesting information about the switches. A lot of work done! Good progress! I am still curious about the track occupation detection. Soon we will know ;-) Well done. It is good to see your projects moving.
Unfortunately the thiel switches need a lot of attention so far. I hope this gets better as soon as all the building activity becomes absent. Right now, after my treatment they work fine. The "outside part" of my track occupation detection is now finished. All isolating connectors are installed and the individual track sections are soldered to cables that go into my signal box. Next I have to install the detection coil and the circuit boards which I don´t have right now. A friend of mine will supply those but I don´t no exactely when...
Nice quality of work and wire managment will make for years of trouble free operation. Great job

Moin Robert, wieder ein schönes Video von dir. Um eine dauerhafte Stromübertragung bei den Massoth Schienenverbindern zu gewährleisten hat sich bei mir an den Schrauben, sowie im Verbinder selber Graphitfett (z.B. Massoth 8319201 Leitpaste) als sehr hilfreich und langlebig gegen Feuchtigkeitseintritt im Schienenverbinder und bei späterer Lösbarkeit der Schrauben bewährt. Ich freue mich auf deine nächsten Videos und mal den angekündigten Gesamtüberblick deiner Anlage von oben. Gruß Jörg
Hi Jörg, vielen Dank für deine Tipps. Hattest du schon mal Probleme mit der Stromübertragung bei den Massoth Verbindern? Mehrere Freunde und ich verwenden sie seit vielen Jahren, wir hatten nie Kontakt-Probleme solange man die Schrauben alle paar Jahre mal nachzieht...
@@summitrailway Moin Robert, ich habe div. Schienenverbinder ausprobiert, die von Massoth haben sich als die Besten herausgestellt. Kontaktprobleme hatte ich nie, habe aber von Anfang an die Massoth Leitpaste benutzt. Für die Schrauben ist es gut, denn sie lassen sich nach Jahren problemlos lösen und im eigentlichen Schienenverbinder, unter der Schienenprofilen, oxidiert absolut nichts und es kann sich dort auch keine Feuchtigkeit sammeln. Ich habe bei mir und anderen LGB Bahnern die immer nur von guten Erfahrungen gehört/gesehen. Gruß Jörg

Love the videos of your progress. Do you have your wires numbered so that you know which wire goes where on the control panel?
Good question! Right now the cabels differ in length and in the amount of wires per cable. This is how I can tell which cable goes to a switch, to a shunting signal or a main signal. I also have a unique cable for powering my lights in the station area. Bevore I connect those cables to let´s say a switch, I am going to measure electrical continuity per cable so I can tell which cable I am going to connect to that certain switch. Once I´ve determined this I will mark them in the signal box. You will see the whole process in the next video!

Warum baut ihr so viele Trennstellen ein? Du fährst du digital, braucht man da überhaupt welche?

Hi Martin! Ich fahre digital deshalb bräuchte ich für den reinen Fahrbetrieb keine Trennstellen, das ist völlig richtig. Da das Stellwerk welches ich zur Bedienung der Weichen und Signale einsetzen werde jedoch wissen muss ob ein Gleis belegt ist oder nicht wird der zusätzliche Aufwand nötig. Ich isoliere jeden eizelnen Gleisabschnitt und versorge alle einzeln mit Strom. Das ermöglicht es mir den Stromfluss für jenden Abschnitt getrennt zu messen und so fest zu stellen ob auf dem Gleisabschnitt ein Zug ist oder nicht. Versorgt wird jeder Abschnitt mit exakt der gleichen Spannung aus der der Digitalzentrale. Daraus resultiert das ich an jedes Gleis ein Kabel anschließen muss um es mit Strom zu versorgen. Die Verbidung zwischen Kabel und dem Schienenverbinder löte ich. Ich hoffe das beantwortet deine Fragen.

Are you using current sensing to detect the trains? I talked to a guy who tested that and he told me that it doesn't work, due to humidity and dirt on on and between the tracks.
Yes thats my plan! I have had good and bad experience with this system. It is not easy to set it up correct but after the set up is done it works good, at least in my experience. For G-scale you need to have a broad adjustment range regarding the sensitivity of the current sensing. Most pre manufactured units don´t have that adjustment range so I will go to a custom mande system which is provided by a friend of mine. I have seen it work so I´m pretty confident :)
