YES! I found the right people on this channel and in the comments. YOU PEOPLE understand. Man, I miss the old movies. Look, they DON'T MAKE movies like this anymore for a number of reasons. One of the saddest reasons is political correctness and STUDIO EXECS BUREAUCRACY. Bean Counters. I loved the Andromeda Strain, ScottK63. WE older folk sure had a great time of if, didn't we ScottK63. We experienced a lot of good things.
Watching all these gloom and doom scifi shots and then ...... the Enterprise in space dock...... and Admiral Kirk ...... reminds ya there might be hope and a future, not just death and destruction
Robinson Crusoe on Mars sounds silly but it's actually a very good SCI FI film. Forbidden Planet (not shown) is the best SCI FI film prior to Close Encounters. Alien is really a horror film not a SCI FI film. Colossus is not a typical SCI FI film. Blade Runner is not a typical SCI FI film. ET is just a kids film about an alien. The Terminator is not a SCI FI film just a great futuristic spectacle. Close Encounters... Is an awesome SCI FI film. Star Wars is an unforgettable SCI FI film. 2001 A Space Odyssey is not just the greatest SCI FI film ever, but the greatest film ever made.
Luis Marrone - the effects in Forbidden Planet are far ahead of anything else at the time - the landing of the saucer, the vast depth of the power plant and the scene of the tiny people crossing the bridge, the laser firing at the creature, and of course the Robot, so fantastic it went on to appear in other films, and Columbo! It was the best SCI FI film for many years and even now it is stunning to watch!
thats right, Simon. BUT...the modern corporate arrogant execs at Disney and Warner Brothers don't give any credit to the original pioneers of science fiction film and art!
When the mothership in close encounters rises up behing devils tower, and Ronnie turns to look at it you can see an upsidedown R2D2........and there is also a VW transporter bus, wwll era planes, and the death star
Star Wars is not genuine sci-fi - more space opera. Forbin was a nice addition - on of the first films that showed what AI may do if ever created. Colossus was basically Skynet.
the Thing, Andromeda Strain, british "Marrionation" TV shows and movies (Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds) and Space:199 and UFO. how about THE OLD Battlestar Galactice movies and series (70s).
Not all of the great films from these decades made it into this video, there are so many. Stay tuned for volume 2 coming soon.
Please remember to include Robocop in volume 2.
A jump from The Forbin Project, 1970 to 1976, Logan's Run. Was there really no decent sci-fi in between that time span?
This reminds me of those classic sci-fi animations from the 60s, 70s, 80s, but updated. I’m definitely giving it a watch.
All of the Greatest Classics for a True Sci - Fi fan

Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! Much much obliged!!!!!
LOVED ALL THESE MOVIES!
I’ve watch every single one of these movie. Multiple times.
Colossus: "We can coexist, but only on my terms."
I love that line. It just sums everything up.
I highly recommend watching this movie.
Before Terminator, there was Colossus!
A good collection; should get +10 likes for including ST:TMP! :-D *So* extraordinarily underrated.
Yes, Star Trek - The Motion Picture is the best Star Trek Film.
“Robinson Crusoe on Mars”! God, I loved that movie. Solid premise. And who could forget Paul Mantee shirtless? 👍
The Andromeda Strain, Westworld, The Time Machine, and the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers bring some of them.

Well, I know class when I see it. Older folk and fans who love things from yesteryear tend to be more intelligent. I SUBSCRIBED.
Thanks for the sub! I love the classic stuff, all of it. Beats most things today (well, except visuals I guess!!)
Hi uncle Kevin well done I love this
Watching all these gloom and doom scifi shots and then ...... the Enterprise in space dock...... and Admiral Kirk ...... reminds ya there might be hope and a future, not just death and destruction
Star Wars... Grandiosa
"Crack in the world" from the 60s was a pretty good movie as well.
Anyone remember "Dark Star"? Hilarious!
Hilarious and Amateurish for sure. It is mentioned in volume 3 : ruclips.net/video/Lxi87JY7C3o/видео.html

Not all pure Science-Fiction, but maybe a mixture with Science-Fiction. And: Yes! 2001 - Number One!
Forbidden Planet.... Too much!!!!!

Krull.
Awesome you put in Forbin, you missed Soylent Green and Andromeda Strain. Does Omega Man count as sci-fi?

カーペンターの「物体X」は入っていないのですか?
あれはSFというよりホラー扱いなのかしらん?
Dos anos 1960 faltou "Viagem Fantástica".

When World's Collide.
Said George Pal to his bride...
I was hoping they would have mentioned two of my favorites, Silent Running and The Andromeda Strain (The original, not the awful remake.)
Silent Running is in this episode : ruclips.net/video/7B4sksSHquw/видео.html and you never know what's coming up in future episodes.
All these films are great. Except for ET and Close Encounters.
