I always figured this car was never made for le mans even with them putting LM in the name. It looked nothing like an lmp1. So when i saw that center exhaust in the vid i already knew where this was going. When ferrari puts their mind to it they can really do some cheeky stuff.

@@study_666 Doesn´t look like it made enough downforce, even at the time. No Ferrari beat the Zonda R, prototype or not, they´re generally not that good at the Nürburgring
Edit: It makes downforce, I mean it doesn´t look ring proof, it was designed for testing on a completely smooth track. Plus who the hell hides a Nürburgring prototype, it was clearly more important

@@afoxwithahat7846 that’s not really the case. Ferrari for some reason doesn’t believe in setting Nurburgring lap times because it’s undignified or some shit (iunno, but whatever it is, it’s probably similar to something Enzo Ferrari would say)

I'm sure there are plenty of other stories of this type!
Personally, I would like to see more F1 testing and dumping the uninteresting new tracks (sorry Mr Tilke).
One of the really good features of Le Mans in the sixties was the SLR class which led to so marvellous cars.
This is worth a tale in itself as there were some interesting aerodynamics that were simply forgotten until decades later.

Gotta defend tilke here. His tracks don't suck. just the fixed parts around landmarks which were out of his control. If every new track were by hugenholtz, it would be just as "uninteresting."

I remember watching the video of that prototype going around Fiorano over and over again, as the rumours started flying it was indeed the 2014 F1 engine. As a Ferrari fan, it was a shame that engine turned out to be very underwhelming (the car itself was too for that matter).

F150 name appeared during mandatory F1 summer break in 2013. FIA has means to check if teams are actually out. Thus, we were instructed by Farrari to avoid any reference to F1, and instead all communication should be about "F150" project.
