What I love most about restoring Lone Star castings is that as many of them are so common, I can collect some truly battered examples and combine them to create something that well represents the original model. I will continue to do this until reproduction parts are made for all of the castings. Until then, this Rolls Royce was in need of a borrowed door, centre-hinged bonnet, boot lid, and steering wheel. It also needed a windshield but thankfully those are reproduced seeing as I had no spares of those.
The Lone Star Silver Cloud Mk III joined the Impy range in 1967 and they were painted either silver or mauve. It was converted over to the new Flyers range for 1969 and it was recoloured dark clear coat red, blue, or a flat white. They can be found with the red interior that carried over from the Impy models or a new better looking beige interior. A bright green interior was discontinued. A fairly common casting, it remained in production until 1976 with the demise of the Flyers series.

The paint job is exquisite!
Excellent restoration!
What a restoration! I cannot believe how nice these models look. The paint scheme look great and I like the beige interior of the second one. Thanks for sharing this.
tbh its not that hard its amazing how well make new paint makes something look
Awesome restoration
One of my favorite cars of all time I've always loved the Rolls-Royce and I've never seen that casting before but that's normal when it comes to you you're always bringing out castings that I've never seen before and I love watching your channel keep up the good work have a good one and God bless
Great 👍👍👍👍 restoration. Like.
very nice I've never heard of Lonestar either. Paint was spot on.
I have one of their larger scale toys: a semi trailer truck. Austin truck prime mover in green, and single axle low sided trailer in orange. Had it for over 50 years now.
Nice restorations, details and paint jobs!!
As usual great restoration!!!
Excellent restoration looks very smart, the colour is brilliant
Awsome Restoration
Awesome restoration, love the paint job. Have a great week, my brother.
Great work as always.
Awesome car , and information about the car .
Your finish is amazing.
SOOOO KOOOOOLLLLLL .
Mike
Like usual,love your work.
Lovely models and great results. I can't help but think it would be a good candidate for further detailing like the rear lights and bumper 🤔
superb job
Great work, Jason. You got that red just right. I'm a bug fan of Lone Star too!
Great research and restos 👍
I really like your videos keep it up! You got to keep making these amazing videos cuz sadly most of the restorers who have commentary have stopped posting.
I’ve got plenty more up my sleeve yet so don’t worry about me going anywhere! Glad you like the vids 🙌🏻
Great job 👍🏻
looks great, the red is well done. :) somehow I prefer the beige interior, it adds a little contrast to it. all tone-in-tone is a bit boring to the eye...
Awesome work. Should use one of the broken ones to make a wastelands/mad max inspired car.
wow
Party time 🏁 All the time
You did a great job as always, but I have a suggestion for the next restoration you do on the next Silver Cloud Mk 3.
Since you have only red interiors, why not make the next one white?
I know that white wasn’t a color used in the production of these die casts, but there’s a method to my madness…..
Growing up my family owned in the mid 1960s a White Pontiac Catalina sedan with a red interior.
It was a great combination of colors.
If you find another brown interior, paint that Silver Cloud a dark blue.
Just a suggestion
The only thing I’d have done different is chrome the rear bumper. I know it wasn’t like that originally but it makes such a difference. Great work though and it inspires me to get back to my to do pile.
👍 Thx 🇧🇪
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💯
Maybe turn one of the “parts cars” into a fixed roof coupe? (might have to get creative with some 3D printing here..)
🤗👍👏❤️
What’s the reasoning for doing black-metallic silver-clear red rather than just a metallic red?
The black is an essential base coat for metallic silver. The clear red gives a light coat over the metallic silver and a totally different finish to a straight metallic red. That is quite a solid finish with quite large metalflake. It could be done either way but from factory these were usually finished in clear reds over silver primers
