I think there's confusion about what "secret menu" actually means. It means things you can order which are not on the visible menu. If you've worked any other food service, you'd know they have the ingredients for what's on the menu, and usually the register has no way to charge for off-menu items. Meanwhile, the Starbucks registers have a "modifiers" button that allows you to customize menu items, and we have things like peppermint syrup (outside of winter), that don't get used for ANY menu items. Yes, Starbucks has a secret menu. Order your green tea frap with mocha drizzle; you're ordering off the secret menu. You know the smores frappucino that is actually a register button? That's not on the menu hanging behind the bar. There is a secret menu. It's just not the same one every store.

When you order a frappachino you can add shots of espresso and either float it (it's poured on top of your blended beverage) or you can get it blended into your frappachino. Your welcome!
You forgot to mention that yes, you can get easy ice but, you're getting a bit of different tasting drink. For example if you get an iced venti easy ice latte, you're not getting extra espresso. You're just getting more milk put into it, and therefore a weaker latte. If you like that taste, go for it but, FYI you're not getting the same drink when you order easy ice. The same goes for iced tea lemonades, you're not getting more syrup. And as for the Secret menu, there are 1000s upon 1000s of drinks and most of them are on one website. They are not mostly created by Starbucks baristas, they are mostly created by customers. A couple years ago they had secret menu drinks regularly added to their menu, those were all customer creations. For example, if you come in and ask for a dragon frappuchino - you better have the full recipie for the size you want with you before you order. Another thing when you're ordering a crazy complicated secret menu drink, tip well cause there's a lot more work that goes into it, they are literally learning to make a completely different drink JUST FOR YOU. Also don't be upset with Starbucks if your secret menu drink tastes bad, Starbucks didn't create it and generally these secret menu items are loaded with sugar and calories.
Tip 3: This is different in Target Starbucks because the systems are not the same they charge if you want extra pumps or extra anything Tip 8: also if you bring your own cup to a target Starbucks they do not offer the discount Also if you are rude to your barista their hand might slip on the extra hot button and they might accidentally hit the decaf too lolol
So im a Starbucks supervisor here in the UK , the only thing bad about the secret menu is that in other countries mainly the good old USA you have totally different syrups from us so people coming in wanting something from the secret menu we actually cannot make,

1) Light ice. It isnt always just as cold. And we now charge or some baristas charge for the extra juice/base. I understand if they wanted less sweet and it was too sweet but idk otherwise its annoying also another pet peeve is when they order their drink lets say a CM and I am holding a HOT cup and then I make the drink and than they say "Oh I wanted it iced".............. you say the hot cup. 5) True true! 6) Yeah... fraps are mainly sugar not caffeine lol 7) Secret menu is kind of annoying... its fun between coworkers but when customers do it its a tad annoying. Plus its annoying when people say "I want the pink drink" assuming we know.... girl no theres five versions of it haha. Plus its a different menue... but yeah I agree as annoying as they are as long as your nice about it and have the recipe well make it but they do cost more since for example you want a Pink drink (not my fav) you have to add the coconut milk and vanilla syrup as extra charge as normally the Passion Tango has classic and water. (at least the original). 8) yes you get 20 cents off! :D seems like a little but hey its 20 cents lol. Also yes people can ask for hot water or cold but if they dont have their own cup it annoys the managers since cups (plastic cost more) cost us money plus some customers want to be attended to ASAP and not pay... but as much as i know you want water people who are paying come first. 9) yes! but dont be to blunt lol i had someone say i want something creamy... i suggested things asked her what she meant to describe what she wanted in more detail but she yelled at me .
brassmonkeyjew exactly, which is why venti's should have 3 shots, but they don't (iced drinks do for some reason) the thing with ordering a grande in a venti is, sometimes you'll just get lucky and get some extra milk to the top

There is 1 shot in a Tall (iced and hot), 2 in a Grande (iced and hot), 2 in a hot Venti and three in a cold Venti. A tall has 12 oz, Grande has 16 oz, a hot Venti 20oz, and a cold Venti 26oz. You get one more shot in an iced since it 6 more ounces than a hot. As for the extra shot, you will pay either 60 or 70 cents for every extra shot you want other than what originally comes with your drink.
like iced coffee but dont want to pay for basically a cup of ice? yes light ice you can do. also along with coffee in one cup ice in another. but also a frappe. were they just basically blend the ice in. you can probably ask for light ice on there to. that way you get more your moneys worth and everythings drank and you dont have a big cup of coffee ice left :p lol

I have never seen that happen. The absolute best tip ever is: patronize a particular location so that the staff gets to know you. I don't have to tell them what coffee I want .. they know. Im there alot, at least five times a week. But even before I moved I was at the same location every Saturday and Sunday early ams and they knew me on sight.
I recently got a grande toasted coconut cold brew with NO ice. I was surprised that it was cold enough to drink already. I took it home and poured into a large glass filled with ice though just to make it icier. :)
It's kind of hard to do light ice in a frappuccino, so they probably ignore your request, its a blended drink, so you kind of have to have that portion of ice. Plus they have exact measurements for that kind of thing, so they will just put the same measurement as normal of each ingredient
I like to get this frappuccino that people call the grasshopper, it's a green tea frapp with peppermint syrup, java chips & chocolate drizzle, and then just as a personal preference I have them blend a banana in and replace the whole milk with soy. It tastes like a mint chocolate chip banana sundae!
Bruh? I used to get a strawberry cream all the time (venti) and asked for extra pumps of strawberry because they always add the same amount of pumps (no matter if you take a tall, grande or venti), and they charge like €0,40 per extra pump... I live in Belgium... + I ask them to blend it twice because there's always big chuncks of ice in my drink (but I guess they don't charge me for that)... Never have that when I go to a Starbucks in the UK. And OMGGG a few months ago I was with my brother in the U.S. and we were in some mall in Michigan, and there was a Starbucks, and they have this extra size called trenta (they have it in the entire U.S.) and omg it was so freaking big I had to pee like three times before I finished it... But the refresha's are SO much better in the U.S. compared to Europe...
Actual US Barista here, they shouldn't have a "pump" for a strawberries and creme frap, it's a strawberry concentrate from a box. for the strawberries and creme frap, we fill the cup to the bottom line with whole milk and then to the middle line on the cup with strawberry concentrate, and the quantities of both that we put in vary on cup size. The size does differentiate how much strawberry we put into your drink. I'm not sure how they do it where you're from, but over here that's how it;s done and that's the company standard for making that drink. I hope this helped settle any issue you may have had with your confusion!
And they shouldnt charge you extra for the fact that you want more strawberry in your drink because as stated in the video, it's already part of the recipe.

Anytime I've asked for light ice in my iced lattes it tastes like they just filled the rest up with milk, no extra espresso. That is understandable but please don't think you're getting added espresso for free in your drink.
You'd think as a Starbucks employee she wouldn't be setting up barista for these annoying request. I'd be so annoyed if it was a busy morning and someone gave me a recipe from the secret menu.
+Cris Aco I completely understand the struggle during a busy shift, but my store is located on a college campus, so the "secret menu" requests are pretty unavoidable. I figured it'd be better to at least tell people to have the ingredients 100% ready, because we're not trained to know the custom recipes and it does make it harder when people don't know what's in their request
I can understand that but you are in a customer service occupation.. it goes with the territory. Happily helping someone rather than frowning and hissing at such requests will make you a much happier person. As long as they are polite about it. If they are pushy, demanding, etc. you can always smile and inform them that each flavor pumped with be an extra charge and ask if thats okay There is no secret menu involved it just a customized drink.. no different than asking for a caramel machiato with only half the 'mix' or to have it 'upside down' which I see ppl getting alot.
Like TheNabob57 just said, there is no "secret menu" only customized drinks that cost extra. Only kids on a college campus would make a big deal about "secret menu" drinks that are a gimmick. It appeals to the immaturity of some people

Whabout getting an oatmeal without water so then you can take it home to make it mountain sized by adding 1-2 more packets of your own instant oats, and topping it off with the fruit/nut/seed packets. Packets for sure, gotta make the $3 you are paying for it work for something (for fiber).

Thanks I have been using these tips for years. I replace classsic sweetner with vanilla or caramel. I also use my Gold refill and srart with a Venti Coffee and refill with Cold Brew Iced Coffee and teas.
Actually in my country when I order a caramel macchiato the original price is 22 QR ( 6 $) but when I add extra caramel they charge me 2 Qr if it’s on the bottom and 2 extra Qr if I want it on the bottom and top which is 4 Qr ( 1 $)
Overall great video!! but some facts were wrong. Some components already in drinks do actually cost more, extra espresso and syrup is an additional cost. Drizzle is free as well as additional toppings. But extra vanilla in your vanilla latte is more!!
Thank you! That's true, I forgot to mention exceptions like extra espresso! The extra for syrup is odd for me though, maybe because my store wasn't corporate and was licensed instead that's where the difference was? But I know some rules have definitely changed overall since I made this haha :)
I'm thinking about applying at the Starbucks near me since I'm 16 but the problem is I basically dropped out in 8th grade so I don't have a diploma and I'm not old enough to take ged classes(I live in Texas) but does Starbucks require that stuff? Also I have pcos so I get really noticeable hair on my throat and sideburns so I wouldn't want to get stared at lol
My barista made mistakes several times, and every time, she shared a 'next drink on us' card. At one point of time, I started getting confused whether she is too polite, or too duty minded, or having special interest in me. How should approach them ? Rejecting the card saying that 'its okay' did not work. Offering a dinner for Christmas went other way around. I really want to straighten this out as I am a regular visitor to that café and I feel embarrassed facing them again.
oh another kinda hack to save you money - its better tho order it in the biggest size they have (like i know i hot those special drinks hot and cold and i think the biggest was venti) - a small cost like $4.25 where as the venti would cost only $1.25 more (after taxes it cost that much to) so for just a bit over a dollar you get more than twice as much coffee. i know some will say 5 bucks is still pricey for coffee but its a much bigger size and worth it lol. cant finish it all? jut save fo later or put some in another cup and save it that way to !! :)

One time at starbucks I ores a white hot coco. They gave me a regular hot coco. I told them I ordered a white hot coco. They gave me a white hot coco back for free they were super nice :)
One thing you should have mentioned is the fact you can order a size and ask for the next size cup for those folks that like the extra cream... A few times a day people get surprised that they can do that. I say why pay for coffee your not getting?

The strawberries and cream, and green tea frapp are two of the most popular decaf frapps :) my favorite "secret menu" frapp would have to be a green tea frappuccino with peppermint syrup, java chips, soy milk and a banana! It honestly tastes like a mint chip banana sundae!
There is not a Starbucks secret menu.. It’s just a menu that customers have made up and made a list online. And this is why if you was to order something from a different Starbucks it could be completely different from what you had at one Starbucks. Because there is not a secret menu it’s just a list of ingredients people have invented. However if you were to know the ingredients and you asked your barista to make it for you. They normally would be happy to do this for you.

In America the green tea frappuccino isn't a secret menu item, it's on the regular menu :) If you live in another country and your Starbucks carries matcha powder, I think your best bet would be to order a vanilla bean frappuccino and ask to sub the vanilla bean powder for matcha!
hey i live in dubai and none of the Starbucks here follow any of what you say mostly because the menu is very limited. I can't get my fave Salted caramel mocha. and also about the extras, they never give you anything extra without a charge.. and most barristas r not even that knowledgeable about making custom drinks. if you are still working in Starbucks, you could probably chk on this pls!!! if I could 1/10th of a service in Us, that would make my life so better
Actually we are not suppose to give out hot water for people to make their own drinks. its against company policy tho and even in some places like where i work even if they bought some via and just wanted hot water to brew them we cant do that. i wouldnt make blanket statemwnts becuase a lot of people watch these types of videos and then get mad when they come in the store and we dont do it

Secret menu is just as big here , a lot of the stuff we dont have are just syrups that by law we cant have because of the ingredients or sugar content

Ordering a grande and asking for it in a venti cup should be on this list. Love getting that free 20%
nope... you get room in your cup...A grande in a venti is a grande amount in a venti cup so you can add Milk, etc...
honestly the fact that grande and venti espresso drinks both get 2 shots is a joke so might as well only pay for a grande

I like to get this frappuccino that people call the grasshopper, it's a green tea frapp with peppermint syrup, java chips & chocolate drizzle, and then just as a personal preference I have them blend a banana in and replace the whole milk with soy. It tastes like a mint chocolate chip banana sundae!
Bruh? I used to get a strawberry cream all the time (venti) and asked for extra pumps of strawberry because they always add the same amount of pumps (no matter if you take a tall, grande or venti), and they charge like €0,40 per extra pump... I live in Belgium...
+ I ask them to blend it twice because there's always big chuncks of ice in my drink (but I guess they don't charge me for that)... Never have that when I go to a Starbucks in the UK.
And OMGGG a few months ago I was with my brother in the U.S. and we were in some mall in Michigan, and there was a Starbucks, and they have this extra size called trenta (they have it in the entire U.S.) and omg it was so freaking big I had to pee like three times before I finished it... But the refresha's are SO much better in the U.S. compared to Europe...
Actual US Barista here, they shouldn't have a "pump" for a strawberries and creme frap, it's a strawberry concentrate from a box. for the strawberries and creme frap, we fill the cup to the bottom line with whole milk and then to the middle line on the cup with strawberry concentrate, and the quantities of both that we put in vary on cup size. The size does differentiate how much strawberry we put into your drink. I'm not sure how they do it where you're from, but over here that's how it;s done and that's the company standard for making that drink. I hope this helped settle any issue you may have had with your confusion!
And they shouldnt charge you extra for the fact that you want more strawberry in your drink because as stated in the video, it's already part of the recipe.

Anytime I've asked for light ice in my iced lattes it tastes like they just filled the rest up with milk, no extra espresso. That is understandable but please don't think you're getting added espresso for free in your drink.
The only way to get espresso at SB is to order espresso. Their mixed drinks use something else that is NOT espresso.
they do use espresso for iced drinks. Just ask for an add shot and they will give you an extra shot of espresso (It does cost extra)

+Cris Aco I completely understand the struggle during a busy shift, but my store is located on a college campus, so the "secret menu" requests are pretty unavoidable. I figured it'd be better to at least tell people to have the ingredients 100% ready, because we're not trained to know the custom recipes and it does make it harder when people don't know what's in their request
I can understand that but you are in a customer service occupation.. it goes with the territory. Happily helping someone rather than frowning and hissing at such requests will make you a much happier person. As long as they are polite about it. If they are pushy, demanding, etc. you can always smile and inform them that each flavor pumped with be an extra charge and ask if thats okay
There is no secret menu involved it just a customized drink.. no different than asking for a caramel machiato with only half the 'mix' or to have it 'upside down' which I see ppl getting alot.
I think that just shows the difference in mindset of someone that actually enjoys a job and one who doesn't/wouldn't. * _shrug_ *
Like TheNabob57 just said, there is no "secret menu" only customized drinks that cost extra. Only kids on a college campus would make a big deal about "secret menu" drinks that are a gimmick. It appeals to the immaturity of some people
You can get frappes w/o ice, unblended, with 3x the ingredients and blend it w/ ice at home. ;) -Ethan
ristretto is lighter, smoother, and just as caffeinated as a shot of espresso. I prefer it over an espresso shot in any drink for those reasons alone.

Whabout getting an oatmeal without water so then you can take it home to make it mountain sized by adding 1-2 more packets of your own instant oats, and topping it off with the fruit/nut/seed packets. Packets for sure, gotta make the $3 you are paying for it work for something (for fiber).

Thanks I have been using these tips for years. I replace classsic sweetner with vanilla or caramel. I also use my Gold refill and srart with a Venti Coffee and refill with Cold Brew Iced Coffee and teas.

Actually in my country when I order a caramel macchiato the original price is 22 QR ( 6 $) but when I add extra caramel they charge me 2 Qr if it’s on the bottom and 2 extra Qr if I want it on the bottom and top which is 4 Qr ( 1 $)

Overall great video!! but some facts were wrong. Some components already in drinks do actually cost more, extra espresso and syrup is an additional cost. Drizzle is free as well as additional toppings. But extra vanilla in your vanilla latte is more!!
Thank you! That's true, I forgot to mention exceptions like extra espresso! The extra for syrup is odd for me though, maybe because my store wasn't corporate and was licensed instead that's where the difference was? But I know some rules have definitely changed overall since I made this haha :)

I'm thinking about applying at the Starbucks near me since I'm 16 but the problem is I basically dropped out in 8th grade so I don't have a diploma and I'm not old enough to take ged classes(I live in Texas) but does Starbucks require that stuff? Also I have pcos so I get really noticeable hair on my throat and sideburns so I wouldn't want to get stared at lol
My barista made mistakes several times, and every time, she shared a 'next drink on us' card. At one point of time, I started getting confused whether she is too polite, or too duty minded, or having special interest in me. How should approach them ? Rejecting the card saying that 'its okay' did not work. Offering a dinner for Christmas went other way around. I really want to straighten this out as I am a regular visitor to that café and I feel embarrassed facing them again.

oh another kinda hack to save you money - its better tho order it in the biggest size they have (like i know i hot those special drinks hot and cold and i think the biggest was venti) - a small cost like $4.25 where as the venti would cost only $1.25 more (after taxes it cost that much to) so for just a bit over a dollar you get more than twice as much coffee. i know some will say 5 bucks is still pricey for coffee but its a much bigger size and worth it lol.

One thing you should have mentioned is the fact you can order a size and ask for the next size cup for those folks that like the extra cream... A few times a day people get surprised that they can do that. I say why pay for coffee your not getting?

There is not a Starbucks secret menu.. It’s just a menu that customers have made up and made a list online. And this is why if you was to order something from a different Starbucks it could be completely different from what you had at one Starbucks. Because there is not a secret menu it’s just a list of ingredients people have invented. However if you were to know the ingredients and you asked your barista to make it for you. They normally would be happy to do this for you.
I knew trick #2 before, because my first Starbucks drink was a kids temp hot chocolate

Yes! That's a great question, that's actually the one exception :) (except for the new affogato frapps)

I actually had a barista at this certain Starbucks that I go to that made the best espresso frapp in my opinion and now he doesn't work there anymore so I am going to have to find another barista that makes it right.
Plus he was the only one who had ever spelled my name right and I don't think the others mess it up on purpose my name is just difficult for most to spell correctly

In America the green tea frappuccino isn't a secret menu item, it's on the regular menu :) If you live in another country and your Starbucks carries matcha powder, I think your best bet would be to order a vanilla bean frappuccino and ask to sub the vanilla bean powder for matcha!

hey i live in dubai and none of the Starbucks here follow any of what you say mostly because the menu is very limited. I can't get my fave Salted caramel mocha. and also about the extras, they never give you anything extra without a charge.. and most barristas r not even that knowledgeable about making custom drinks. if you are still working in Starbucks, you could probably chk on this pls!!! if I could 1/10th of a service in Us, that would make my life so better

Actually we are not suppose to give out hot water for people to make their own drinks. its against company policy tho and even in some places like where i work even if they bought some via and just wanted hot water to brew them we cant do that. i wouldnt make blanket statemwnts becuase a lot of people watch these types of videos and then get mad when they come in the store and we dont do it
