On my first day of training we were packed and I was just waiting for my shift supervisor to finish giving the tour when a customer pulled me aside and literally looked me in the eyes and said "I NEED TO SEE A MANAGER" I was there for 3 hrs doing online training and the first customer experience I had was that. BIG oooooof
Ouch, yeah you'll get a few of those every once in a while for sure! But learning your awesome regular customers totally makes up for the random doodoo heads 🤣
LOL THIS the same thing literally happened to me the first time i was training on bar. I was waiting for my trainer to finish the rush and an angry lady made eye contact with me and said “EXCUSE ME WHOS YOUR MANAGER?”… luckily though my coworker over heard her tone and saved me. My coworkers are amazing 🥲

Just finished my third week, today almost broke me. I never finished my training because of schedule miscommunication. And the last part of the training was about the register, so everytime i have to be on dto i struggle. I do okay on front register but taking order over headset is hard for me especially when customers says their order like we have the flash fingers to put it on pos. Cashing out is easy. But I liked being on bar and I truly enjoy making drinks so today was a maintenance/CS day for me and it was fine with me. Truly! Just that the newbies treating me like im stupid or an idiot. I almost cried. But oh well, there will be better days.
I just had an interview yesterday for Starbucks in Target and got hired on the spot! I’m starting the 10th, and I’m so excited/ nervous. $13 an hour! SCORE! Haha
Caleigh Rogalski It’s going okay. So far everyone is kind. Getting used to the system is hard for me. For example, they have you open an account during orientation and on that acc your work schedule is there and other stuff... I’ve forgotten the password to it. And you can only change it IN the store with a team lead helping you. I work again tomorrow and have to tell them that which is super embarrassing. Lol. Some things I can prepare you for-if you are doing a closing shift, which I’m sure you’ll do A LOT of closing shifts cause I have, every night before you leave, they have a team lead come by and check everything. Throughout the night YOU HAVE to 1. Pull pastries from freezer, date em, put em back in the freezer for morning people/ clean out pastry case 2. Wash ALL dishes... every single dish that you’ve used and place them back when you’re done... so like, shakers, blenders, pastry dishes... 3. Make sure everything you open is dated. They’ll tell you how long things are good and bad for 4. Restock and set out certain things for the person doing the morning shift 5. Wipe down sticky bottles that might attract bugs/ seating area 6. And honestly one of the biggest things they emphasize is cleaning the espresso machine. I know, it sounds like SO much to get used to, and heck, I just started, so I’m still terrible at it. It’s just really good to know what to get done before you start, and they’ll be surprised at your knowledge :) And if you ever feel anxious, because I literally almost threw up over starting, just remember I’ve already missed 3 shifts because they gave me the wrong schedule and I forgot my password to my online account with my online schedule. I can’t wait to explain that one. 🙄😶🤮 *sick to my stomach about it* So.. mistakes happen. You live and you learn, and there’s nothing we can do about it once it’s done. In the end, it’ll become easier. Oh, also, just be prepared for learning cash register. It’s gonna be really difficult-unless you pick up really fast, but sometimes I have no idea what to charge that person if their ordering like, a complicated drink and I can’t find it. But they shouldn’t expect you to be good at it within the first two weeks, so don’t worry about it! Sorry if I stressed you out more, but at least you know what to expect now:)
I've watched so many videos on working at Starbucks, and this is the best! Attitude is everything. A lot of the comments/videos I've seen are people saying how stressful and horrible it is, which of course its stressful but I think if Starbucks is your first job, or at least your first retail/service job, you're going to extremely overwhelmed. I've been a server and bartender for a while now and at very busy and fast paced restaurants. So I'm pretty much used to demanding situations/customers. It's really all about attitude. Just be positive. I want to work at Starbucks because it's a flexible job which will help me learn new skills and also pay for my bachelors and masters degree soo I'm gonna suck it up! Keep your eyes on the prize 😎
Can I also add it makes a difference who you work with, shift supervisors included. Typically I gravitate to the shift supervisors who are willing to help me and don’t look as stressed. The stressed ones are rude and it just makes the day harder on you as a barista. It can become overwhelming personally to anyone. It’s not my first job. I’ve been working for 6 years and it’s still occasionally overwhelming to me and I used to be a server.
Totally agree! The more experience you have in retail/fast-paced jobs, Starbucks won't be too hard on you. I start my first day of training next Tuesday! I'm just super nervous about Starbucks customer. I heard they're a different breed.
There are people complaining about being a barista at sb and keeping a negative attitude like babe just change your perspective. No one is forcing you to be there, you chose to apply and are choosing to work if you don’t like it or don’t want to do it; quit simple as that. And that applies to any job if you’re just complaining and having such a negative attitude how do you expect to feel more fulfilled working there
If you get hired in a Starbucks that's in a store you won't get the Starbucks corporate benefits because Starbucks inside stores are owned by the store, you'd be a target employee.
So I just started training, It's SOOOO important asking your trainer questions of what you're unsure about. use a learning technique you learn fast with. There is no need to rush!!! This is my actual first week in training and I'm almost getting down the codes on the drinks and working through the register as a POS. Also don't forget to let your customers know that you're new and training so they won't rush you with their orders. I work in Starbucks in a supermarket store, I feel like it's going to take me a year for making drinks lmao. So far I didn't mess up much, but yeah there is no need to rush yourself when you're learning new skills, brewing coffee, timers, switching positions. Sometimes I forget to wash my hands before and after doing tasks xD.
Thank you for your video it helped ease my nerves a little! I'm still quite nervous, ahh but excited and grateful for the opportunity to work at one of my favorite chains with really kind people who were generous enough to take a chance and hire lil old me :) It seems challenging but also fitting for me, plus I look best in dark green LOL. I really think working for Starbucks will push me and teach me a lot for an entry-level job and prepare me for the workforce after college. Cat, hope you're doing well!
I start tomorrow and I’m sooooooo darn nervous :( I’m trying so hard to be positive but I have such terrible anxiety!!! I can’t think of a single thing that might go right. I am so socially awkward and don’t wanna make anyone upset while learning everything. Especially because I’m not the fastest learner
Just started my first full week of training plus a practice day and it has been alottttttt to learn but thanks so much for making this video. It’s a great reminder to show good customer service in spite of dealing with the rush of everything!
Thanks! I've just worked 4 days and I like it, but I'm pretty anxious. My store is a little understaffed just now, and I haven't been fully trained, so there's so much I don't know. I'm middle aged and visually impaired, never worked in retail or food industry, just slower office jobs. I'm embarrassed by how much basic stuff I don't know - like how to use the mop bucket, or how to unscrew the soap dispensers in the bathroom to refill them! But I learned some of that yesterday, thanks to partners helping me. They are the main reasons I didn't quit in a panic - their kindness about answering questions even while doing double-roles themselves till we get up to speed. My store manager even came in person to show me how to refill the soap, and she was so nice about it. I'm able to do simple stuff like refilling whip, mixing lemonade and mocha, and I learned a little about steaming milk and making basic lattes, or grinding coffee to make a pot of Pike. But I've got to get the cadence of the brewing cycle down, what to make when, restocking items, and making sure my cleaning is to standard. I hope my 2nd week leaves me feeling a lot more confident on those things.
Oh man, I just got hired on board straight to a shift supervisor. So I need to learn how to be a barista and shift at the same time. This was super helpful thanks alot!
ive been training for almost 3 weeks. and i enjoy the training. but i am really having a hard time in execution of beverage making. ive been really frustated about it. i think my partners are already getting annoyed of me. im panicking when there is 3 or more orders. im having a hard time in beverage routine of 2 or more orders. having a hard time in multi tasking. specially when cold bev(blended) and hot(espresso) at the same time. i really want to pursue this but im already doubting myself. help.
I'm sorry to hear that you're getting frustrated but it sounds like you care a lot and that's wonderful! See if you can find one or two partners you work with frequently who are great on bar, and ask if they'll help you with routine. You can also ask if someone you're working with will let you focus on certain types of beverages at a time - like if fraps give you a hard time, ask to be frap kid for the day! When all else fails, take a deep breath and keep trying. Ask for help if you need it but truly practice will make this so much better over time. And you're only a few weeks in!!! You're doing great!!!
honestly you shouldnt be doing hot and cold bar... if you need help always just ask... im going in to my 3rd week now! and really, its more HELPFUL to ask for help than to slow everyone down trying to "figure it out" alone. our partners are also swamped like you are, so we all help we all have an easier time... i may just be trying to be hopeful lol ... whats the update tho luv? :)
i nearly cried... i thank god i was blessed with an AWESOME trainer she really has helped me so much... i cant hear very well and had only practiced on register one day... so she helped by taking the orders whilst i typed up the order, and also helped me navigate the register whilst i listened on headphones, that made it sooooo much easier, and now just from that one day im so much better navigating the register screen because all the confidence she gave me stepping in to aide me.
Big thing for newbies that I try to engrave in all of my batistas get your shots pulling and milk steaming before you grab the cup if your on drive bar start the drinks has they are being ordered do not wait till the stickers come out it saves time and makes your life better when peak its
Yes! Listening intently to what the customer is ordering and immediately getting it going is great advice. I could do a whole video on drive thru skills 😅
I’m a new Starbucks employee but I wish I would’ve saw this video when I worked in my last fast food job. You’re demeanor is very inviting. Thank you so much for this. You got a subscriber
Starbucks, at least in Madrid, Spain, forces its employees to attend work meetings in its stores (usually at night) without being paid for them, and it has also created the figure of what they call "complementary hours" so as not to have to pay them as overtime, which is what they really are. In this way, these overtime hours are paid as ordinary hours.
Worked as a barista at this coffee/tea chain; they had multiple stores around the U.S and they had several around my county. They didn’t want to pay for extra labor so they’re were only two baristas every shift. Went in for training on the first day and was thrown right into the fire. The training itself was so horrible since there was only one person with me (shift leader). Basically had to figure out the register (which was a lot simpler) but then I’d have to get off the register and was pressured to make drinks with a menu of smoothies and teas/coffee of 50 items. I’d go back and forth and it was awful. On the first day I was already being yelled at for not knowing how to make certain drinks and it was rush hour at night. To make it worse customers were complaining there drinks was too sweet or it doesn’t taste right. There was also a certain customer that day that ordered 10 drinks for their family and almost each drinks were custom made with certain needs. It was so bad that day I quit after that. Traumatized me from becoming a barista in the future. But maybe I’ll give it another shot, management there was terrible and I wasn’t the only one to complain online. 100% sure it’s better else where, just wether I want to give it another shot. But yeah, rule number one I would say is check out the store first before applying as a barista.
Holy cow I'm so sorry that happened to you, that sounds awful!!! I definitely think this is a great tip, to hang out in a store and get a feel for the atmosphere before applying or accepting the job is very smart. I wish I'd done that for one of the stores I unfortunately worked at, it would've saved me a ton of stress.
Today is my first day at a Target Starbucks and I’m super nervous! I used to be a shift manager at Dunkin for about a year, but I know Starbucks has like 3x the amount of drinks lol. Hopefully I pick up stuff quickly.
You're going to do great! If you apply yourself and smile, keep up that good customer service skill you've already gotten from DD I'm sure, you'll be a SB pro in no time. Good luck!!
Learning the drinks is actually the easier side of things! :) I was taught how many shots go in the cup and how many syrup pumps go in each cup. That makes it a ton easier to make drinks once thats drilled into you. You will do awesome!
I had my first day today and I work as a junior barista, so I basically stand behind the register all day and sweep and clean up stuff. The register isn't that hard but I forget all the time wether a macchiato is a warm or a cold drink and when I have to ask if they want whipped cream or not
You are such as wonderful person to watch! I can totally tell you are an amazing person! This was super helpful and informative! I just applied to Starbucks so hopefully this helps me out lol :)
1 smile 2 Memorize what they have thought you good way is instant association something logical associate with something illogical for example cafe misto is found under brew. So you are brewing 1000 gigantic rey mysteriyo 3. Ask question but memorize however dont bother them 4 help people out if you are confident and know how to do it if busy if not busy go ahead and help 4.5 take photos of cash register menu pages and pos 5 get stuff like cleaning done and fast
awe im so proud of you!!! you are doing an amazing job & im glad to have you as a partner. hank you for making this video, im going to show it to my baristas
@@claudiah.2935 I get $14.75 in Minnesota, but that’s because I work in downtown St. Paul and they have to keep the pay competitive to keep up with Minneapolis’ pay rate since the cities are so close together
Just submitted my background check so hopefully that doesn't take long and I can be working. I actually got hired on the spot, but just waiting waiting waiting:) You definitely make me feel better about wanting him to work here, you just seem so positive! I can honestly say this if I had to pick an employee to ask questions it would definitely be you! Where do you work?? Haha Okay I'm transferring 😊 No just kidding! But you definitely seem positive and I think I see a manager in your future!
I got hired on the same day at my interview and I started training on Monday and it’s stressful and having a lot to learn especially the code names for the pastries and sandwiches and am not allowed to make any drinks until I learn how to manage the oven and yesss it’s a lot to clean like it’s stressful .I hope it gets easier with time😭
I work at a Starbucks franchise so I only work with limited drinks however it's only been 4 days since I've been there and everytime people order a frappacino or the refreshers I panick. I sometimes don't know how to label cups so I write the whole name down. I've had to throw away so many drinks bc I've messed up so much. My coworkers have been nice about me learning but I feel like they secretly hate me bc how much they have to help me. I wanna learn how to make the drinks when I'm at home but I only find diy versions of it which is kinda confusing. Plus I try to smile to customers who've been nice and all but sometimes there's that one customer that says I made the drink incorrectly or labeled it wrong so we have to make it again. And that just kills me inside every time. I have a meltdown in the storage room bc I'm such a screw up. Everytime I think of work I get so anxious and nervous. I don't wanna quit but it's taking a toll on me so much.
I'm so sorry that's happening to you! Be strong and patient with yourself, it takes lots of practice to get the recipes memorized and nobody is perfect. Do you have the recipe cards or a book of them somewhere at work where you can look at them? If not it would be best to ask your favorite co-worker if they would be willing to work with you either before or after one of your shifts to clarify and practice those drinks that really trip you up. Good luck!
@@CCela1608 Currently it is spring break so it's busy af so finding time to look at the book is difficult. My coworkers have helped me go over stuff before opening so it's been helpful but when the time to actually do it I forget a major step and that just throws everything off.
Right the with ya, started today. So. Much. Memorization. I got information overload and then stressed out because I took over cash register and could find some stuff. I feel like no matter what I do I need confirmation. You have ab update? Is it going better now?
@@kjcornett Yeah it's going a lot better. I've pretty much memorized all the drinks at this point. You really just need to give yourself some time which is difficult bc the work is so fast paced. However I drew and labled the drinks in a small notebook that I keep in my back pocket incase I need to know how to make something. If you wanna discuss more we can talk on snap

Ok mom, i just work at Starbucks and in my store there's only 6 barista including me, and 2 of em actually just quit, now we only had 3 main barista and me which a green bean and i just work for 4 days they literally told me to try to remember recepy and everything before the day 5 idk what to do, there's lots of thing i need to remember and i feel under pressure :( what should i do to remember recepy easily
honestly what i'm scared for is not remembering things.. like generally aren't you suppose to have the drinks etc, memorized!?! damn it's just so much so messing up once would make me feel rlly bad lol + do we actually have to memorize all the drinks tho? like do they have "recipes" or instructions for each drink somewhere etc
Yes you will have to memorize all the drinks BUT it's not hard once you can connect where each drink is similar to others. I am planning a video about how to be a better batista so subscribe and stay tuned! You got this!!!
4th day and I can’t get the espresso bar down I freeze up forget which milk to use or what some of the names of the drinks mean(never used to go to Starbucks) I forget how many shots go in which cup or syrup it’s annoying I wanna be awesome and it seems easy I’m just nervous due to rude customers wanting their drink quick and right the 1st I hope I get it down soon don’t wanna lose this job COVID left me with not many options so I really need this thank you for the tips I hope I can master this ASAP because I want to be great thank you again
Thank u for the tips! I got hired last week and this week I fill out the paperwork. I have a learning disability so this video helped me out I hope they take it easy on me. Btw what what kind of pants are acceptable while working at Starbucks I’ve been figuring out what to wear at my new job at Starbucks.
Thought I should leave the steps here. After reading them over and over again I'm confident I have it down. 1. Pump coffee ( 2(Tl) - 3(G) - 4(V)) ...skip if order calls for crm(creme) 2. pour milk 3. pour contents into blender 4. pump syrup (2 - 3 - 4) 5. scoop flavor (2 -3 -4) 6. scoop ice 7. pump base (2-3-4) 8. blend (1 or 2) If you are making a cookie, crunch drink, this would be a good time to start whip creaming the bottom and adding the appropriate crumb sprinkles and syrup. Having these instructions in front of you are truly a life saver! I recommend writing it down and putting it somewhere you can see without having to touch it. Hope this helps!
Have you seen the movie Cool Hand Luke? There's a scene where prisoners on a work detail, on a very hot day, push to see how fast they can finish the section of road.
The whole "Ask your coworkers if you can make a drink" confused me lmaoo they put me in the bar Immediately, i only got taught the register last week. They wanted me to know how to make most drinks before going on register. Then again, we are a Very chill location, we dont get many customers which i vibe with, it gave me more learning opportunities and was able to take things slowly. In 2 weeks tho i have my evaluation for my barista certificate and i am NERVOUS jdhdhrjf and on monday i have to do my first coffee tasting so i have 5 days to get used to this blend, learn its history and find smth to pair it with and lemme tell u im STRESSED
I mean it was my absolute favorite perk. Pretty much unlimited free drinks, then if you close you might be able to take expired items or slightly stale things from the display case, as well as any mistaken items that are made/cooked for customers, it's endless. If you like the food and drinks at Starbucks you'd better get a gym membership after you get hired LOL
My first day is next week I’m so nervous;-; but I got this I think lolol it’s my first job but everyone is really sweet, (the people who are training me and with me)
A constructive useful video , it would be helpful to make training videos on how to make iced drinks and Frappuccinos as I’m not good at making them. It would be appreciated as we don’t need to ask others
Starbucks I work at is understaffed and very busy, especially because the other Starbucks down the street closed down. Starting out I make 7$ an hour in Michigan but looking at everyone else’s pay in the comments look like I’m a little under payed 💀
thats one of the many blessings working there and usually if im stressed i just quit and say eff it, but honestly this is worth the time to push thru and just try... i mean SO MANY PERKS lmao!

Please tell me if i should apply
Kay Èm You should apply, it gets easier. but like anything new, it can be stressful to get used to! :)
Me too! How’s it going for you so far?
This information is PERFECT. I swapped through a dozen videos before I got to this one and it's perfect. Thank you for the video!
Yay I'm glad you liked it and really hope it helped!!
“Find someone friendly on each shift” laughs in target
Yes!!!
There are people complaining about being a barista at sb and keeping a negative attitude like babe just change your perspective. No one is forcing you to be there, you chose to apply and are choosing to work if you don’t like it or don’t want to do it; quit simple as that. And that applies to any job if you’re just complaining and having such a negative attitude how do you expect to feel more fulfilled working there
Mindset is key!
I'm 17 and I've never had a job, Im hestitating on applying as a starbucks barista in a Target... 😪
If you get hired in a Starbucks that's in a store you won't get the Starbucks corporate benefits because Starbucks inside stores are owned by the store, you'd be a target employee.
Me too my first day in training is tmrw; I only get one week of in-person training and then 3 people are leaving 🙃😭
I got hired as a barista and we open in 2 weeks. Finishing my first week of training saturday, but so far I like it. :)
I'm going to start tomorrow, but we have to wear masks...so I'll try to make my eyes look happy I guess 😭💕💕💕
Oh man
They think I'm smiling but I'm really just squinting because I'm not wearing my glasses lol
GIRL HELP MEEE
lmao!
I just applied today! This will be my first job ever! I’m so much more confident now after watching your video! Thank You for the help!!!
Hopefully they accept my job application 😊
SAME EXCEPT 8 MONTHS LATER LOL
Thank you for your video it helped ease my nerves a little! I'm still quite nervous, ahh but excited and grateful for the opportunity to work at one of my favorite chains with really kind people who were generous enough to take a chance and hire lil old me :) It seems challenging but also fitting for me, plus I look best in dark green LOL. I really think working for Starbucks will push me and teach me a lot for an entry-level job and prepare me for the workforce after college. Cat, hope you're doing well!
I’ve been working at Starbucks for about 3 weeks and I’m already running both bars by myself😎
You are describing me I start tomorrow 😳
Amy Bailon how are you liking it so far??
SAME HERE just starting my 3rd week! suuuuuuuper stressful
I start this week and I’m very very terrified!!!
I hope my 2nd week leaves me feeling a lot more confident on those things.
how are you doing now?:)
How is it going? Did you have improvement?
honestly you shouldnt be doing hot and cold bar... if you need help always just ask... im going in to my 3rd week now! and really, its more HELPFUL to ask for help than to slow everyone down trying to "figure it out" alone. our partners are also swamped like you are, so we all help we all have an easier time... i may just be trying to be hopeful lol ... whats the update tho luv? :)
iooiiiiiiiijii
I will start training soon! It sounds challenging, but I’m doing my best to go into this with a positive outlook :)
Drivethru is crazy hard for me, it was my last day of training today.
OMG me too! It really gave me hard time
jet s first time at Drive-Thru and I'm so overwhelmed! Any tips?
i nearly cried... i thank god i was blessed with an AWESOME trainer she really has helped me so much... i cant hear very well and had only practiced on register one day... so she helped by taking the orders whilst i typed up the order, and also helped me navigate the register whilst i listened on headphones, that made it sooooo much easier, and now just from that one day im so much better navigating the register screen because all the confidence she gave me stepping in to aide me.
My parents are going to make me work a summer job, Starbucks sounds plausible for me
Do it!! A lot of the job is fun once you learn to make drinks and get the hang of chatting with customers
What a perfect shot for a newbie like me 😊 thx a lot Cat!
I love cleaning. The look after is satisfying
I’m a new Starbucks employee but I wish I would’ve saw this video when I worked in my last fast food job. You’re demeanor is very inviting. Thank you so much for this. You got a subscriber
First day at Drive-Thru and I'm going crazy! It's overwhelming 😪
Definitely drive thru stores are challenging but stick with it and you'll grow to love the routine, and the time will fly by when you're busy!!
i just got hired and yesterday was my first day~~ UGHHH i can do this!! thanks for the tips
Hey Cat! I just got hired at Starbuck's last week. Thanks for the tips!
Yay welcome!! I hope you love your partner journey!!
hows it going now??
Loved it! Along with your Awesome Personality! Thank You kindly for all the great tips! Wish you all the best!!💗
i actually love cleaning at work because i can zone out and put my mind at easy for once :)
:) !!
I don't call Starbucks fast food. I love that company.
The register isn't that hard but I forget all the time wether a macchiato is a warm or a cold drink and when I have to ask if they want whipped cream or not
Thanks for being nice and kind
You are such as wonderful person to watch! I can totally tell you are an amazing person! This was super helpful and informative! I just applied to Starbucks so hopefully this helps me out lol :)
Friday is officially my first day as a trainee... I hope these help
1 smile
2 Memorize what they have thought you good way is instant association something logical associate with something illogical for example cafe misto is found under brew. So you are brewing 1000 gigantic rey mysteriyo
3. Ask question but memorize however dont bother them
4 help people out if you are confident and know how to do it if busy if not busy go ahead and help
4.5 take photos of cash register menu pages and pos
5 get stuff like cleaning done and fast
tomorrow is my first day for safeway starbucks, so nervous but thank u so much!
awe im so proud of you!!! you are doing an amazing job & im glad to have you as a partner. hank you for making this video, im going to show it to my baristas
😍😍😍thank you!!!
Thank you sm for these tips!! Really useful and helpful
Omg TIP 3 was so accurate!!!! That is so true
Just started and I love it ☺️ I learned so fast and it's so fun
Cali Starbucks pays $15 an hour, and now that covid is running amuck we’re getting paid three extra dollars
Luckeeeees
We get $9.45
$11.87 in Minnesota
@@claudiah.2935 I get $14.75 in Minnesota, but that’s because I work in downtown St. Paul and they have to keep the pay competitive to keep up with Minneapolis’ pay rate since the cities are so close together
@@gc1484 Oh hey that’s dope!
Thanks catherine I appreciate it I start training in a few days and you are right ENTHUSIASM! will save you from lots of stress
First day of training & needed some last minute tips thank you !
im new n all the girls are friendly at work , i love your POS tip to take a photo
Really helped me out, I actually have an interview tomorrow so I didn't start yet but... wish me luck!!
Cat! I loved this video! I’m a barista at a local coffee stand and this totally applies! Good advice.
Taylor Bishop Deal omg yay!!! Glad I'm not totally speaking into a vacuum about this haha, being so new I definitely am not an expert 😀
Customers please be nice and speak loud and clear when ordering on drive thru 😭😂 it’s hard for new baristas
thank you for this!! i just applied today ahhhh so nervous
Just submitted my background check so hopefully that doesn't take long and I can be working.
I actually got hired on the spot, but just waiting waiting waiting:)
You definitely make me feel better about wanting him to work here, you just seem so positive!
I can honestly say this if I had to pick an employee to ask questions it would definitely be you!
Where do you work?? Haha
Okay I'm transferring 😊
No just kidding! But you definitely seem positive and I think I see a manager in your future!
Catherine: always smile!
Corona: 💅
Haha yep!!! Although here in Georgia I'm starting to see partners in drive through window positions with no masks 😬
I got hired on the same day at my interview and I started training on Monday and it’s stressful and having a lot to learn especially the code names for the pastries and sandwiches and am not allowed to make any drinks until I learn how to manage the oven and yesss it’s a lot to clean like it’s stressful .I hope it gets easier with time😭
Hang in there! It definitely gets better. If you can write down the things you keep forgetting and keep it in your pocket that'll help a lot!
how is it going? I start in about a week!
Good luck!
@@CCela1608
Currently it is spring break so it's busy af so finding time to look at the book is difficult.
@@Firdaus_28 my snap is the same as my name om here but with one extra t at the end. I'd be down to msg, I love the job so far
It’s my first official day of working after training! I’m super nervous, the drive thru is so hard and to remember all the different drinks but I’m trying my best. Wish me luck y’all and thank you for the tips
How is it going?
I'm in my second week of training :))
@@sandraelizabethcuatecopere7904 omg mine too now!!! It’s going better now, I still need practice but I’m remembering things quicker. How’s it going for you?
@@vanessarose8146 It's nice ti know that. I wont6 feel alone anymore hahaha
It's great that you are getting better.
For me things are going well also, I kinda feel more confident but I'm still struggling with beverage making and costumer support.
Good luck.
@@sandraelizabethcuatecopere7904 you are not alone! I am glad you are more confident now. Beverage making is very difficult and it’ll take months to get used to, it is still really hard for me. But you got this! Customer support will come easy over time as well. You’re doing great. Good luck partner :)
@@vanessarose8146 thanks... We'll get to learn everything. We can do it. My best wishes for you.
Saturdays my first day!
How do you like it? I’m starting training on the 8th
@@daniella8725 I like making the drinks and everything but it’s so hard being so fast 24/7
I've never been a fan of Starbucks. I only applied to be a Barista, because I liked the intimacy of the kiosk. LOL!
Cashier is just a hassle Its alot to memorize and I work at drive in
Thank you, thank you, thank you‼️ Short, sweet, and right to the point! Are you still are Sbux!?? ❤️🤗👍🇨🇦
Yes I am 😀 coming up on 2 years
Cat Cela Ojo ,are you able to vlog about a day in the life of a barista at your store!?!!🤗🇨🇦
I rlly wanna work at starbucks cuz i love starbucks
Just go for it !
I just got a job at Starbucks, and I’m sixteen years old!
Is there anyway I can contact you for advice?
I could really use the information. ♥️
Sure DM me on my Instagram! @catherineohjoe
Ok mom, i just work at Starbucks and in my store there's only 6 barista including me, and 2 of em actually just quit, now we only had 3 main barista and me which a green bean and i just work for 4 days they literally told me to try to remember recepy and everything before the day 5 idk what to do, there's lots of thing i need to remember and i feel under pressure :( what should i do to remember recepy easily
honestly what i'm scared for is not remembering things.. like generally aren't you suppose to have the drinks etc, memorized!?! damn it's just so much so messing up once would make me feel rlly bad lol
+ do we actually have to memorize all the drinks tho? like do they have "recipes" or instructions for each drink somewhere etc
Hey check out the video I made recently on memorizing Starbucks recipes! That one has more specific tips
ruclips.net/video/90VlFJWAbiQ/видео.html
Just started last week. Going good so far! I need to know where you got the radio in the background...
If you look up Starbucks look book you’ll see the dress code there
luckily for me, the steps for a frappuccino are right on top of the fridge at the frappe station. I look down at it every few seconds lol
Thought I should leave the steps here. After reading them over and over again I'm confident I have it down.
1. Pump coffee ( 2(Tl) - 3(G) - 4(V)) ...skip if order calls for crm(creme)
2. pour milk
3. pour contents into blender
4. pump syrup (2 - 3 - 4)
5. scoop flavor (2 -3 -4)
6. scoop ice
7. pump base (2-3-4)
8. blend (1 or 2)
If you are making a cookie, crunch drink, this would be a good time to start whip creaming the bottom and adding the appropriate crumb sprinkles and syrup.
Anyone else watching this during the pandemic and realize it doesn’t matter if you smile..
thank fuck
This is soo sad
You still have to smile lol! You can tell from behind the mask and my manager reminds me to smile
If my Co-workers were like you I would be so happy
I hope your next video come soon
Itz very interesting video.
your very well spoken i subscibed just off the wag you talk lol i just got hired as a shift supervisor
thank you for the tips!
I’m about to start, and the offer is $16.24 per hour 😭😭😭
Today is my second day and I feel super overwhelmed
Yea it also helps that you're dead drop gorgeous. Some of us are not as pretty as you 😛
Thank You for All that you are doing to Heal our Mother Earth ... Peace… Shalom… Salam...Namaste 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ 🌷 ☮️❤️
The biggest reason I want to work there is the free drinks and stuff. 😂
You’re the 🐐🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing ❤️
I start Monday!!! 🥺🥺🥺
My first day is next week I’m so nervous;-; but I got this I think lolol it’s my first job but everyone is really sweet, (the people who are training me and with me)
What an awesome first job! I hope you love it 😀 try alllll the drinks
A constructive useful video , it would be helpful to make training videos on how to make iced drinks and Frappuccinos as I’m not good at making them. It would be appreciated as we don’t need to ask others
I work at Starbucks. I love it!
Wow! Great attitude.
Starbucks I work at is understaffed and very busy, especially because the other Starbucks down the street closed down. Starting out I make 7$ an hour in Michigan but looking at everyone else’s pay in the comments look like I’m a little under payed 💀
Bro in Cali we start at 16$
i also am in michigan and start at $13. maybe you’re in a rural area? or if you are a minor i think you will be paid less
I started to work this 8th August 2022 and I'm studying English too😱
