I legit just applied to Starbucks not caring too much if I got hired. I got an interview and I'm not a super talkative person, but decided to just relax and talk without thinking too much. It felt more like I was just having a conversation rather than an interview. A week later I got the job offer and was told that they really really liked me lol. I start Wednesday.

Hey Caroline! I applied yesterday and just finished up my interview and I got hired when it was over! We did an online meeting due to COVID, but thank you this video really helped me out! If any of you guys are wondering what specific questions they asked me: -Tell me about yourself -How did you start at your past position? -What hours can you work (availability)? -Have you been to our location before? -What 3 words would you use to describe yourself? -What customer service experience do you have? (for me, I work as a tutor with kids, so they asked how I communicate with non-students) -Any questions? (Ask a LOT) I'm not sure if this is the exact order but I think that's all! Good luck everyone!
@@bri2535 Because my only work experience was working with children, they wanted to know I communicated with non-students. I answered that by saying I would monitor each kids progress and would speak to parents each session to give them a rundown of what their child was able to do, and what the child did or didn’t do well. I also said that I kept a more professional tone with the parents.
@@user-en5kf9tk7z It’s going great! It’s a really fun job & I’ve met some great people so far! Let me know how it goes, I’m sure you’ll do amazing at the interview!
Guys after three weeks of constantly applying to new starbucks locations and calling, I got an interview for this Friday! I was about to give up on my idea of becoming a starbucks barista but finally i landed an interview. Always keep looking for new locations if they are not hiring at the ones you applied at.
Honestly. I just applied. No resume. Just filled out the application in a flattering and formal way. When I got the call, I told them I had already got a job (I had) and that I don’t know that my hours would be compatible. Told them I’d call if anything changes. After getting off the phone, I thought a bit, and called back, saying I would love to fit them into my schedule and it doesn’t appear that I have busy hours. Kinda reverse psychologyed them without meaning to lol. Interview day, I showed up early with a folder in hand. And EVERY question I was asked was along the lines of, “tell me a story about when you (resolved a conflict, fixed a problem, made a connection, reached a goal, etc…”) when I tell you every single word out of my mouth sounded like a hallmark movie… it worked tho. Interviewer gushed over me a lot and offered me a job on the spot.
I just got invited to a virtual interview and I’m super relieved and actually really excited and not too nervous LOL quarantine is good for something! Thank you for the help and sharing tips with everyone!
I applied 5 days ago, should I call the store today and ask about the status of my application? UPDATE: I called the store yesterday and today they called me and asked me to come in for an interview! @@kawaiibunnbunn yeah actually i did study interview questions such as problem solving or how well i worked in a group. but as long as you're passionate about learning about coffee and just a kind and fun person then you should be fine. being yourself is also just as important. a specific thing you should focus on are starbucks core values, such as the LATTE model or their motto "To inspire and nurture the human spirit - one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time." it is also a great idea to call back if you haven't heard back in a week. i didn't hear back from my employer for a while and it turned out that they had the wrong phone number on file... so def give them a call!
I've been thinking about applying to starbucks but have been so hesitant on it because I have absolutely 0 knowledge about coffee, although I'd like to learn more about it. After watching your video, you honestly gave me a huge confidence boost. Thank you!

So yea.. ( I’m only just now starting middle school) 💀
Same sis. I’m trying to get my first job working at Starbucks because I plan on working at Luxury stores after that and having work experience at a popular coffee shop would look good on my resume. I’m in high school doing dual enrollment and going to college at the same time so a car would be nice so that my parents don’t have to drive me o the college side of school and I have been looking into buying luxury goods (Perfumes, Bags, Clothes) and a phone.

I had my interview two days ago and I just started working today, all I gotta say is that it's so difficult😭I wanted to cry when seeing how fast everyone else was going, but I can't give up. To anyone who is planning on working there, just know that it's not easy and it will take you some time to get used to it, especially since they tend to have tons of customers and all, they have to go so quickly and I kept forgetting what went with what and such, especially since I have never drunk coffee a day in my life, I know nothing about it and I'm not familiar with it, so it's even harder for me. I didn't even know a frappuccino is a cold drink🥺
@@Natika-eb7ov Yeah, I'm there now, I'm on my ten minute break and I leave soon! you should have a résumé when you go into any interview, and instead of calling about your application, go in personally hand-deliver your résumé and tell them that you applied online. It gives them more personal touch and then you can actually meet the manager and the employees face-to-face.

anyone in the comment section who works at starbucks and can answer this question? i have an anxiety disorder and get panic attacks so i've been working at the same job for a couple years in fear of not doing well at another. how well does starbucks handle issues with mental health? specifically if i need to step aside for a few min during a shift to breathe for a sec.
its all up to the people you work with but in my 5.5 years of experience ive encountered such understanding and kind people. additionally on top of health insurance for part time workers, starbucks also provides virtual therapy sessions so I think mental health is a big topic at starbucks that everyone respects and is understanding of. hope this helps!
I love to learn, I get a kick out of making others happy. But I am obsessed with being "perfect" in any of my work and I don't know if that's a problem. Is it?
I have an interview next week but if they ask what's your biggest weakness say you're a perfectionist because that can be a positive thing sometimes and it shouldn't affect your ability to work well
@@lyssa7155 nononono do not say that. That’s a very very cliche thing to say and shows that you can’t find genuine weaknesses in yourself to learn and improve from. Something like “I struggle with focusing” or “I struggle with teamwork which is why I want to join the team and learn from others to improve myself.”

-Have you been to our location before?
-What 3 words would you use to describe yourself?
-What customer service experience do you have? (for me, I work as a tutor with kids, so they asked how I communicate with non-students)
-Any questions? (Ask a LOT)
I'm not sure if this is the exact order but I think that's all! Good luck everyone!
Can I ask how you answered the communication with the parents question that sounds so random ?
@@bri2535 Because my only work experience was working with children, they wanted to know I communicated with non-students. I answered that by saying I would monitor each kids progress and would speak to parents each session to give them a rundown of what their child was able to do, and what the child did or didn’t do well. I also said that I kept a more professional tone with the parents.

@@user-en5kf9tk7z It’s going great! It’s a really fun job & I’ve met some great people so far! Let me know how it goes, I’m sure you’ll do amazing at the interview!
What question did you ask them ?
Guys after three weeks of constantly applying to new starbucks locations and calling, I got an interview for this Friday! I was about to give up on my idea of becoming a starbucks barista but finally i landed an interview. Always keep looking for new locations if they are not hiring at the ones you applied at.
I got hired!
@@Alexa-eb2td congrats !
@@Alexa-eb2td how’s it going??
Can you tell me how it went I am going to have one? Super nervous!

it is also a great idea to call back if you haven't heard back in a week.

@@lyssa7155 nononono do not say that. That’s a very very cliche thing to say and shows that you can’t find genuine weaknesses in yourself to learn and improve from. Being a perfectionist isn’t necessarily a weakness.
