  • Captured here are various emergency vehicles responding in the busy Yau Ma Tei area of Hong Kong! Yau Ma Tei Fire Station & Ambulance Depot is one of the busiest stations of the Hong Kong Fire Services Department (HKFSD). The firefighters here respond up to 30 times a day, and medical calls for the paramedics are easily more than double that amount!
    In this video, you will see various HKFSD Ambulances (A391, A598, A448, & A203), Emergency Medical Assistant Motorcycles (A903, A907), a 'Light Rescue Unit' (F2509) and a 'Major Pump' (F431) responding to various emergency calls. A patrol car of the Hong Kong Police Force is also seen in action enforcing some traffic laws around the nearby Kwong Wah Hospital.
    What do you think of Hong Kong's emergency vehicles? Let me know in the comments!

    I think anyone can understand why Yau Ma Tei is one of the busiest Districts for Ambulances after watching this video👍

      Haha yes it was pretty crazy. Medicals tones went off every few minutes! Sai Wan Ho ambulance Depot was the same actually, and Wong Tai Sin is still the busiest I have ever seen… 😅

    4:06 NO WAY! THEY USED THE PRIORITY SIREN!
    It’s extremely rare in HK, I often hear wail and for fire trucks yelp

      That’s right! It’s pretty rare, but luckily I managed to capture the fire trucks using it twice as well on my latest trip 🤩

    Lots of cool catches in this one! Interesting to see the motorcycle responding - it looks like there are only a few agencies in the US that use them. I wonder why they haven't caught on more.

    • @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses
      @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses  9 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you Lucas! The paramedic motorcycles are definitely more popular in Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia etc.) and in the UK (which inspired the Hong Kong versions I’d say). It might not be too popular in the States because they tend to prefer units that can transport (such as the mini ambulances in NYC).

    Gotta love Yau Ma Tei and their business (at least for us lol)
    What was the call at 7:19 for? Heard the tones for the fire station but couldn't make out the details.
    Hope at least Yau Ma Tei delivered more happiness compared to Wan Chai haha

      Thank you my friend! Oh yes, YMT definitely delivered. This was one of the most fun times we had while filming in HK! ☺️
      Good luck to you as well! Although I kinda hope you’ll try out some ‘less visited’ stations as well. 😄
      I think the MP got dispatched, but got stood down before they could leave the station. Might have been a fill-in assignment because they did not seem to be in a rush at all.

      Hong Kong has the driver on the right side. Usually red is over the driver as red doesn't blind them as bad when they get out of the vehicle.

      @@PardyN2I was going to say exactly this. Also, up until 1997/1998 Hong Kong was a British territory, it's why it differs so drastically from the rest of China. There's still a heavy influence of British customs and culture and the infrastructure is still heavily British created and inspired. To this day a lot of imports and manufacturing come from the UK, too.

    The siren is so quiet?
    They’re driving so slow?
    They stopped for a red light to let people cross?

    • @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses
      @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses  7 месяцев назад +1

      That’s the culture in HK… 🤷🏻‍♂️
      The sirens have volume controls to reduce noise pollution in the city, and the emergency services are usually not very aggressive in their driving (always afraid of complaints from the public…).

      @@TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses Furthermore, responding to emergency call or rushing to save lives is not a reasonable defence for causing any traffic accident , you still have to face all the legal consequences .
      If guilty ,you may just get a fine, You may receive penalty marks on your driver license which may disappear two years later. But in some serious case , you may have to spend your time behind bars , then you be dismissed immediately.
      If the system and the emergency service that we are serving unable to protect us, we have to protect ourselves.
      If it’s not really urgent just let the people pass. If doubt, stop and look carefully .
      Remember , Hong Kong is a place that people never look at the traffic before they cross the road .
      Remember,Hong Kong is a place that people will hide themselves behind a lamp post and suddenly climb out from central reservation lied on dual carriageway.

    • @CallMeAhSirHKP
      @CallMeAhSirHKP 4 месяца назад

      Our traffic is so dang slow it really chokes up in major areas such as Kowloon and Wan Chai
      All first responders in HK follow the British method of emergency response, they don’t pressure ppl to go through reds unless if it’s really urgent
      The quiet mode is meant to not wake up residential areas but if it’s really quiet then cars aren’t gonna yield

  • @Doc_Rainbow

    why use Sirene when noone gives a **** about it anyways and the Ambulance stops at red lights?!

    • @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses
      @TGGGlobalEmergencyResponses  9 месяцев назад +2

      As far as I know it’s a policy for them to respond with lights and siren, even if it’s not urgent. A lot of it doesn’t make sense to me, but different places have different practices. However, the ambulances do go through red lights if it’s very urgent.
