As a side note..If Boone and Crockett wants to get people interested in B&C again they’d add a new category with no deductions

100%. We can judge the prettiest, most symmetrical track for our selves. I want to distinguish between typical and non typical and then know which is the biggest of each. I don't want to have a typical that measures 180 get scored lower than a deer that measures 175 just because the latter is viewed as more perfect or pretty or symmetrical. I want the #1 Typical B&C in the world, country, and state to be the typical in that area with the biggest rack.

I'm just starting this pod. I hope you guys have Herd of ron boucher he was basically blackballed from B&C just for measuring the king buck. He was also a great friend of milo Hanson and was one of the measures on the hanson buck. His opinion is that the king buck is the world record and that caused a falling out with him and milo. That's what B&C does tho.

    • @travelreview5962

Imagine falling out with your buddy because you measured 2 deer and said that his is not the biggest.... think about that. If I had a friend pull something like that it is just a clear sign to me that either A) we were never friends in the first place or B) this guy chooses his friends based on how much they agree with him, or what they can do for him... and either way that is not someone I care to be friends or associate with in anymore than a surface level.

I am so glad bushy was spoken highly of in this conversation. It makes me wonder what's gonna happen if Mel Johnsons record gets beaten as I'm pretty certain the Smithsonian museum owns that one.

See now I did not know about the break and that makes a bit more since as to why I see, they even started to give the king buck trouble !! I do not agree with anything else had the buck not been broken I would agree to fight although there is no fighting now it’s been to long but this makes more sense since where the start of controversy came into play.

Absolutely insane that you think a 110 to 150 is downplaying. Most hunters will end their lives never having shot anything over 100in. The overwhelming majority. It sounds greedy and ignorant to think that anything less than 150in is just a common little buck! 120" and up is a huge trophy buck. I speak from experience of 45 years of hunting with everything from flintlock, to bow and centerfire. I hunt only on the ground and still-hunting like Johnny. The cult of the Super Buck is out of control. I have a 120" 9pt and a 13 that went 168 6/8 in the woods AFTER he knocked his right brown tine off and he is not the best hunting story in my life. My best is my son's spike and a little six I shot the same year. Hunting is an experience not a competition. Farm boys like Johnny are what deer hunting is really about not professionals selling junk. But I want to add that you guys allowed the most fair telling of the story of this buck. I am a big supporter of NBBC and Johnny King killed The World Record Whitetail Buck- period.
