    Really good tips, it really explains the concept of doing short reps maxes to enhance Sub Maximal speed.

    Should speed capacity workouts for 400m runners be done in the off season? Or only near races? because I heard it is very taxing on the body, so it may be unsustainable in off season training

    Hey Cody, which supplements do you use ? Specifically, do you use creatine ?

    • @ATHLETE.X
      @ATHLETE.X  Год назад +1

      I do like creatine, I either put it in an electrolyte drink or in post workout smoothies. I’ve tried a lot of supplements but on a daily basis I like tongkat Ali, creatine, vitamin d, collagen protein, and magnesium.

    • @ATHLETE.X

      It depends on if you’ve trained a lot for it in the past or not. If you haven’t done much sprint training, then you could certainly knock a second or more off of your time with proper training.

      @@R888ZZZZZ you’re quite strong. Maybe add in an acceleration and a tempo run session, as well as low hops over small hurdles or cones to work on being bouncy.

    Really embracing the Olympic lifts I see.

    • @ATHLETE.X
      @ATHLETE.X  Год назад +2

      Yeah they’re pretty common in my programming. Gonna switch more toward a velocity & reactive emphasis soon after spending some time pulling slightly heavier lifts. The slow stuff is good for a base but makes me slower, so once the strength base is there it’s all about making it more poppy and explosive.
