Mick Taylor - we miss you.... the soul in the RS left when you did. Thank you for an ungorgettable era when you lifted the RS up to their ultimate performance.
My God does Mick Taylor put real gracefull soul into his guitar solos Nobody and I truly Mean nobody sounds like Mick Taylor .I found his beautiful solos in 1973 on Rolling Stones Bootleg Albums That I somehow found in Record Stores You all Remember Record Stores,.if you don't you really missed something really great I use to love going to record stores And look to see if they had any Rolling Stones Live 1972 73 Live Bootleg Albums .When I found them I use to play them Stones songs in my car on 8 Track And people use to flip out when they heard to beautiful Stones songs with Mick Taylor's Beautiful Solos I use to think I was so special cause I had those live Bootlegs And they weren't easy to find Great Times And Memories
Wow. You sound like me. Ha ha Me too I used to go to record stores they had bootlegs of different stones tours. I used to grab the ones from 72 73 or 69 with micj Taylor. I feel the same he has a very unique sound. I love that. I heard the song Angie from 73 8n Brussels it was October 73 two days after my mother passed. He played a slow electric lead solo. Not acoustic like the studio. It was perfect. Just perfect. Wow. So many of the recordings. But wow I had the same experiences.
It was Taylor who turned the Stones immortal with his sublime, inspirational, beautiful and improvisational playing. To say that the Stones improved Taylor is a travesty of what happened. The Stones were so fortunate to get this genius just as he was about to peak. Their subsequent treatment of him was truly shameful.
Wow. I fully agree. The best music in rock history the stones 69 to 73. They absolutely did nothing for him he gave them that sound. Never see any music like that. He got sick of it. They were mad he was leaving. They were lucky they got him. 8m sure after they treated him like shit. But they did nothing. He was responsible for their sound those years All their classics were him. It doesn't surprise me how they treated him just look at Brian Jones. Look at that. I guess when u are becoming famous most are blinded by that. No surprise they treated him bad. But I'll tell u if they had got somebody else I truly believe they would not have gotten that music accomplished. Taylor was responsible for a lot of riffs th as t turned into masterpieces. Just a very very unique and extremely talented blues and rock mixture guitarist that excelled live or studio. Jagger and Richard's were in awe of him. I just seen a Pic of Hendrix backstage sitting next to Taylor while Taylor was seemingly showing him something in his guitar. Hendrix seemed very interested. Taylor played with I think replaced Eric Clapton with yardbirds? Wow my memory's gone. But what a genius. I just love Mick Taylor. I remember zeppelin and Page. I was a teen. I remember seeing Gimme Shelter at a movie theater at night. The awe I felt when I heard Taylor stayed with me since. Excellent guitarist. I was just listening to Stray Cat Blues live off get yes ya yas out. Powerful guitar from 69. Just a wizard as Ron Wood described him.
@@pauldinardo973 he gave rolling stones music a sense of class without sacrificing their dirty grit. Every record he played on has evidence of his class...winter, dead flowers, coming down again, time waits for no one , his guitar in sway.....just a few examples.
@@pauldinardo973 At 17 he did the second half of a John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers gig when Eric Clapton hadnt shown up, he was only in the audience but asked if he could play with them as he realised they had no lead guitarist and he was familiar with their songs . 2 years later he replaced Peter Green when he left the Bluesbreakers to set up Fleetwood Mac.
Did Keith steal his wife? I'm not to sure and upto date really with what happened back then between them all if anyone can elaborate? Taylor, what a guy!!
I was lucky to see them with Mick Taylor in LA. Even Jagger says they were the best live with him! The guy took normal songs and made them so memorable. Live was the only way to truly appreciate him. Rock on Mick!!!
Ahhhh!!! I just missed him. He just left when I seen them. I had tickets to Led Zep show in Montreal it was opener. Finally Zeppelin. That did not happen. John Bonham passed. Horrible thing! One of the best drummers ever in rock. R.I P. Bonzo
MT is the most under-rated guitar player in rock since the 70s. Nobody is better and yet he's all but forgotten even though he still plays regularly and is always working new stuff, something most of his contemporaries have either stopped doing or they just rework their old songs. Stones sure have been mediocre since he left.
Thé best version of guitar solo s Mick Taylor for the song Winter. JUST Great sound..Hé gives good vibes playing like THIS.. j listen the music on the beach and the sea is BEAUTIFUL too..music To fall in love
I am a dye hard Stones fan to the Max and Love the song Winter, but when I came. across Mick Taylor's. 13 minute Solo, Blew my Mind, God Bless the The Rolling Stones "Unknown. Soldier" and God Rest Mick Taylor
he desrves to be treated better and he deserves more recognition. we were all quick to judge him calling it a bad career move, but we dont know all the facts and circumstances behind that Dec 1974 sudden departure.
And Yes what ever happened to cool Record Stores .I'm Grateful I live in the 60s and Especially The 70s Were I could just walk to a cool record store and pick up a great album And Really Cool Poster Days Gone By A Real Shame. Oh how I use to love to look and find really cool posters Those posters I remember gave me great memories These days if I ever seen them I see some of them on the Internet and I remember when I bought them I can remember buying a really cool Stones 1969 poster for 77 cents Great simpler times
Of course the Stones were great with Jones, no doubt about it. They were part of the Holy Trinity with The Beatles and The Who. What I am saying is that Taylor added something so special to their sound. It can surely be no coincidence that their greatest work (especially live) was with Taylor. As for listening to my rock history, well, I am a child of the sixties who grew up on a diet of all this stuff. It was the backdrop to my life. Regards.
Lordy child😮 I should have known better than to turn Mick Taylor on , now I can't turn him off !!🙆♂️ thank you Mick Taylor for some of the most beautiful music , I don't blame you for leaving the RS a man has to do what he's got to do
mick taylor, Nicky Hopkins, Mick jaggers stage presence and smaller arenas MADE the stones in the early 70's what they were which is unmatched. and if Mick taylor hadnt have left when he did he wouldve been dead from drugs...its sometimes about self preservation over fame and fortune which is fleeting. But yes I agree the stones are greedy and very smug and have not treated him well since he left, and it shows; ive lost all respect for them...time waits for no one but truth is finally seen
I always get the laugh of my life when people say Keith and Ronnie are good guitar players. Mick Taylor live would blow all of them off the stage and none could compare to his melodic and passionate performance.
You can say that again Mick Taylor is mind blowing guitar player The guy can make you cry I live in NY on Long Island and had the pleasure of meeting Mick Taylor 4 times And he always seemed unhappy a real shame to a real beautiful man
M.Taylor.,Brian Jones,Charlie. The good musicians of The Stones.Wood peaked with The Faces and is just a crachead.Keith couldn't hold Taylor's pick and stole his writing credits on some songs Taylor should have been stronger and stayed
Mick Taylor is special - Keef and Ronnie are ordinary players that is why the Stones are only marking time and will never reach the heights they did when Mick was blowing us away with his brilliance
One of many Mick Taylor compositions which he was not credited for. SWAY loving cup time waits for no one moonlight mile ventilator blues HEARTBRAKER all come to mind. You know what the aforementioned songs never played live by Stones. Coz piss head Wood could not play anywhere near Taylor s Great riffs. This is a beautiful rendition of Mick Ts Winter.
I met Mick back in 1992. I was in my early 20s and had been drinking. Mick was very nice and didn’t act like a typical Rock Star. I can see why he left the Stones. They are to full of themselves. At least Mick and Keith are anyway.
I live in NY on Long Island and had the pleasure of Metting Mick Taylor 4 times from 1989 to 2001 and he always seemed and unhappy man A,real shame to a real beautiful man
Sure I could add a comment but mick and the boys might be insulted and I’m talking jagger not Taylor The Rolling Stones had a diamond in the rough but rather than embrace it they decided to dismiss it because their fragile little ego’s couldn’t except the fact that this 20 something just came in wrote great songs and could out play Richards on his best day
Yeah, I agree. I had every Stones album till Mick Taylor left. Broke my heart. Everything after was a joke. They even tried disco! Fuck that. Surprised they didn't do a Coke or Microsoft commercial.
Mick Taylor really has the talent to use the guitar in such a way to perfectly express the long drawn out feeling of winter and its bitter cold.
Mick Taylor - we miss you.... the soul in the RS left when you did. Thank you for an ungorgettable era when you lifted the RS up to their ultimate performance.
Yes thank u. Nothing like your playing with the Stones
mick T took the songwriters in the band to sublime highs

There's some beautiful piano as well. Such a glorious piece of music.
Just so beautiful...love love...

"normal songs"? the only way taylor could take them to that level was because, to begin with, the songs themselves were bewildering.

That was a revelation, love the layers he puts down on these stone's song's, it's a massive Shame he didn't stick around.😟
Mick was the best guitar player in thé band and Keith is less good player than hlm.. Mick T follow his own musical way..good choice
