I remember when Sephora was first in malls in the 90s I would see UD & it was like Acidic Green nail polish or Silver glitter in black eyeshadow & had very graphitti or spatter packaging. So odd it became the natural/nude makeup brand later in the 2000s. But so many people love UD & I could never figure out why since nothing I tried from them ever worked for me.
VIDEO IDEA: makeup releases with best and worst timing. What products were a hit or a flop because they were released in just the right/wrong time? Like ND I need a nude palette was released when there was an oversaturation of colorfoul or nude but orangy-warm palettes, and it probably would have not performed as well if it had been released in the Naked 2/3 era. Or JS Cremated palette - to be fair, a death-themed palette (not a spooky, halloweeny kind of death but a deathly death) would have been controversial anyway, but the timiming of its release was the worst possible time to do it when a good chunk of the world's population had just been wiped.
Honestly, eyeshadow palettes don't even collect that much bacteria. So you're not even putting your health at hazard that much. So, I will use my crummy eyeshadow palettes, until the formula gives out.
Oh man me too! I still have a bunch of mine which have to be like, almost 15 years old by now. I don't use them often these days but they have held up!
Every time Estée Lauder acquires an independent company (Urban Decay, Too faced) they trash the brand by using sub standard formula. EL is massive but I’m struggling to think of anything innovative in either skincare or makeup from them in over 20 years.
I think I've seen a dupe for that Becca highlighter in Japan - it's the Canmake Powder Cheeks in Clever Beige. It has that subtle bluish glow on a nude base. 💗

Fun trip down memory lane. I bet a lot of us have products we are nostalgic on because of Beauty News! Berlin Girl? yep, right here. The too faced Bon Bon palette was my absolute most favorite palette I ever purchased. I miss it daily. Would love for too faced to bring back a reformulated version. The neutral nude shades were so great and that shimmer chip shade was so coppery and gorgeous. Those were my fave palettes and loved that Bon Bon was more pinky neutral than the other chocolate bars

Too Faced palettes last forever. I still have the Naked Eye and the Boudoir Eyes palettes. Satin Sheets is my favorite eyeshadow from them and i really want to get it as a single.
I was tempted to buy the Naked palette because I wanted it when I was younger, but it was too expensive for me. However, now that I can afford it, I just can't pay that price for it out of principle. 😅

It was a gift from a friend and I’m SO MAD I don’t own more colors. The one I have gives the most perfect, juicy, just ate a piece of watermelon summer lips. I may only wear it for a few months each year but dang it gets wear! And I am STILL upset I missed out on Berlin Girl Glow. By the time I learned about it, it was sold out everywhere. I do have ABH’s Amrezy but while the formula is a fav, gold only looks okay on me for a few weeks out of the year after I’ve finally gotten a teaspoon of sun. I wish there was a… not silvery but maybe super pale bronze beige color in that formula. GOSH I wish I had Berlin Girl Glow. That is such a perfect highlighter color.

UD was original when it was their own brand. Even though it wasn't for me I miss the lip color Gash it was said to be Gwen Stifani's signature red lip back from her no doubt days.
Estée Lauder destroys everything they touch, including Tom Ford, which is depressing as hell. I’ve been having to buy my favs off of eBay, as EL has destroyed perfume, and discontinued my favorite foundation and lipsticks.
OMG! Such a great blast from the past video. Brought up so many fun makeup memories. I LOVED that Too Faced Peach Perfect foundation and am SO dry and hate matte, lol. I am the epitome of shouldn’t have loved it but was literally obsessed. My peach palette still smells like peaches!
I bought the Becca Berlin because of this channel and I still have it! It is amazing. **I still have that perfect peach foundation!! I haven't used it in years but i used to LOVE it.
I still have the Moonchild highlighter palette and the KVD Saint/Sinner eyeshadow palette. Also the Morphe 35O palette! I’ll never get rid of her. She’s a legend. 😂
I used the living hell out of that Peach Perfect complexion range from Too Faced. I have psoriasis and oily skin, so trying to find foundation that was able to cover my scaly patches and not emphasize the veritable fountain of sebum secreting from my face was life-changing. Lots of the products brought up here would be fun to own (or buy again), but that foundation and powder are the only things I truly mourn. I hardly even wear makeup anymore, since they were discontinued!
I saw this comment on another channel, I think, and I looked up Dallas - I was wondering if the Jones Road Dusty Rose bronzer (that looks like a blush) would be something you’d like? I like that bronzer a lot.
I always wanted that Becca Berlin highlighter but never could get my hands on it but Chanel came out with a stunning highlighter with a soft silver blue color. It’s my new fav. Not a dupe but so pretty. I’d still get Berlin if I could.
I’m still praying that bh cosmetics can claw its way back from MR. Those formulas! So good! As a makeup collector I will forever be a fan. L’Oréal single shadows are amazing quality-made in Italy-and such good value for one and done. You two are a vibe and I’m here for it.
I’m so sad I never picked up that Becca highlighter that everyone loves. I’m always looking forward to your videos! I am SO happy you two are back!!!! Love from New York ~ Angel ❤
For me it's Chanel Camelia de Plumes (the feather) highlighter and Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon. Just off the top of my head. There's so many good discontinued products.
UD Honey body glitter was my first big girl cosmetic purchase EVER and I still have it and give it the occasional sniff. That and Benefit's Maybe Baby Body Balm are THE smells of my adolescence! 🥰
This video made me remember the peach loose powder from too faced, I really liked that powder! If they brought it back I would absolutely buy it. I planned to make that my regular loose powder, but by the time I finished it, it was discontinued
I used my Just Peachy all matte TF palette this morning. It doesn’t smell much but damn that formula just works for me. I’ll wear it to my funeral as long as I don’t pan it or it spoils. 😂
I agree with Peach Perfect collection esp the powder that really works on my oily skin and I still can't find the dupe yet. I wish brand or even parent company will bring it back
What a fun surprise to have my comment included in the video! Since then I’ve also found out that Mac had discontinued a lot of their lipsticks, I can’t remember all of the ones that I loved that are no longer available but the one that hurt the most is Plumful.
Great video. I still have most of my KVD palettes, including the ones you talked about. They are in perfect condition, and I'm not decluttering them. And I've recently used the contour palette and it still stands up to many new brands today. Yup. Still smooth, still bendable and still amazing. If we are talking about powder contour/bronzers etc. I still have my ABH mood spell palette too. Keeping that.
I couldn't agree more w/ KVD - the Shade and Light EYE Palette (mattes) I will forever hold onto purely for nostalgia. part of me really wants to do a full face of old 2016 favourites even though i'll prob end up with chemical burns LOL
I just decluttered my ABH Moon child and Aurora pallets. It hurt so much, but I hardly touch any of my makeup anymore. I still have my amarazy highlighter, though. I can't bring myself to get rid of it. Kat did, however, influence me to buy the Lunar New Year one that more cold toned though recently, and I love it
Naked wasn't available in NZ in 2011 so when I did my OE, I got mine on the ferry from Dover to Calais. It was the one that came with the single sided metal handle brush, before they changed it and went double sided and it also had a travel size primer potion in the old school genie looking bottle. It was my first ever eyeshadow purchase, I had no idea what I was doing with it lol some of the looks were extremely questionable but I learnt with it and made it work all through my 20s. I still have it for the nostalgia today but don't think I'd ever repurchase it lol ALSO - bring back MAC Tendertone lip balms! I loved them, especially Tread Gently. Rerelaease it either in a stick or in the original pot with a little spatula and I reckon it'd sell very well in this particular beauty climate.
ABH liquid lipstick in potion is my ultimate perfect lipstick shade. I was devastated when it got discontinued but lucky enough to buy 3 tubes from a random british beauty site before they were gone for good. I even wore it yesterday!
Too faced peach powder, omg it was soo good, it was my holly grail for oily skin, to this day I didnt found nothing even close as good!! I was devasted when it was gone....
I love the naked palette. I threw mine out because it was from middle school and I’m currently getting a masters degree. I bought the reformulated one because it was my all time favorite. I actually love the formula. I’m just the everyday consumer. I go to my office job and class and it is wonderful for me. (Maybe I’m basic lol)
I wish I could travel back in time and send you my Stereorose when I decluttered all my MAC stuff. Back in the day I used Blonde MSF as a blush. They were all too pigmented for me. Now I love mixing Rare Beauty liquid blushes with their liquid highlighters ✨
I would buy the 2009 Urban Decay Loves NYC palette in a heartbeat. The formula was AMAZING and the colours were beautiful. It came with two mini eyeliner pencils (black and purple) and a mini primer potion! The best colour was Midnight Cowboy Rides Again ✨✨✨
The Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer used to be PERFECT, but they changed the formula. I think it did sting my eyes a little after many hours of wear, to be fair, but I didn’t even care. And the NYX Bear With Me tinted moisturizer was awesome too. Crappy shade range in terms of undertone, but I didn’t even care that much either, I loved the finish and coverage so much.
The original Naked was the first eyeshadow palette I owned and the first non-drugstore purchase, so that was about 2011 or 2012. I got so much use out of that palette and my favorite shade was Toasted. It was this beautiful pink copper shade that was very flattering and I wore it all the time. UD had it as a single but the color was different. The single was more beige and just wasn't the same. I eventually moved on to other, more exciting palettes and decluttered Naked I think like... 3 years ago actually. I held onto it for a while after I stopped using it. Now that they've brought it back, it seems nice and I would wear it but... Nah. Gotta move forward. And use my other makeup that I already have.
I still have my amrezy highlighter! I got it on its 2nd release. I was working in Melbourne as a hairdresser and one of my clients told me it had come back and i definitely went on my lunch break straight to Sephora and got that in my hot little hands! 6??? Years later. I have specks left but I still use it on very special occasions
You did realize that L’Oreal owns UD, right? Not Estee. I never liked the original Naked & never bought it. I do own several later palettes but none if the first several boring Nakeds. Love your channel ❤❤❤❤
My favorite palette was the Kat Von D Festish palette. It had the most unique shades including these grungy purples and pinky reds that I love so much. If I could buy another one I definitely would. I also loved her shade and light eye palette and the little quads. The monochromatic ones, not those random things that got released later
I brought my Naked palette off eBay for $120 back before it was in Perth (I’m old). I still have it and I do think it is a grey market item as I used it for years and swatched alongside a legitimate palette is the same quality. One of my mates is a cosmetic rep and loves the original formula for ABH Subculture. Same with a lot of cosplayers that use pigments. He says it’s all in how you apply it. He did an eye look on me using the palette and it was amazing! I think it was Tati who said the same thing and was torn apart for it. I remember going into Perth Mecca to buy the Peach Perfect powder. It was fantastic! I brought two.
I still miss Revlon Skinlights face illuminator. Decades before things like Hollywood flawless filter and it was sooo beautiful at a time when everything was either flat matte or crazy glittery/metallic.
Urban Decay is owned by L’Oreal, not Estée Lauder

I still own and use my Moonchild palette! Love it ❤
I always wanted that Becca Berlin highlighter but never could get my hands on it but Chanel came out with a stunning highlighter with a soft silver blue color.
I still have the Amrezy highlighter and I've BARELY smoothed the ripples on top of ONE corner of the product 🤣And it still performs amazing
2018 hourglass limited edition ambient lighting palette? Unmatched.
I have some lancome lipliners that I have used since the 90’s and they stoped making them
I spent weeks swatching to find dupes
UD Honey body glitter was my first big girl cosmetic purchase EVER and I still have it and give it the occasional sniff. That and Benefit's Maybe Baby Body Balm are THE smells of my adolescence! 🥰
🙈 I still wear and love blue and purple highlighters.
Kvd eye pallette is my all time fav. I’m a theater actress and dancer and I use it for every show it has everything you need
I loved the becca putty highlighter. It was such a nice natural looking highlighter.
I still have the moon child palette and use it occasionally. I love that pink shade and the purple
Looking at the last vestiges of my peach powder that I am squirreling away
My favorite was a ogx shampoo in sea mineral. Its was the perfect beachy scent and formula for my hair
I loved the Too Faced bon bon pallet and those heart blushes I used them so much. I miss urban decay naked 2 also
I agree with Peach Perfect collection esp the powder that really works on my oily skin and I still can't find the dupe yet.
I still have mine. I used it the other day. Still performing well.
Tarte's Aspyn Ovard palette is a surprising ride or die for me! I'm so glad that I bought it, but I'm terrified to pan it because I can't replace it!
I just decluttered my ABH Moon child and Aurora pallets. It hurt so much, but I hardly touch any of my makeup anymore. I still have my amarazy highlighter, though. I can't bring myself to get rid of it. Kat did, however, influence me to buy the Lunar New Year one that more cold toned though recently, and I love it
As an American, I love the Sydney Grace singles, and I can dupe this UD.
Never bought the original, and I would never buy this.
What a great video!👍🏻🌺
Naked wasn't available in NZ in 2011 so when I did my OE, I got mine on the ferry from Dover to Calais. It was the one that came with the single sided metal handle brush, before they changed it and went double sided and it also had a travel size primer potion in the old school genie looking bottle. It was my first ever eyeshadow purchase, I had no idea what I was doing with it lol some of the looks were extremely questionable but I learnt with it and made it work all through my 20s. I still have it for the nostalgia today but don't think I'd ever repurchase it lol
ALSO - bring back MAC Tendertone lip balms! I loved them, especially Tread Gently. Rerelaease it either in a stick or in the original pot with a little spatula and I reckon it'd sell very well in this particular beauty climate.
I need the bite beauty agave lip mask 😭 the original, not the vegan one. The original was supreme
I’ve changed my eyeshadow style too, from using 5-8 colours to just wearing 1-2 colours, maybe 3.
I found my Peach Perfect powder this week and started using it again. It's so weird how it tastes like powdered sugar. 😆
I still have a few pots of the peach perfect powder, and they are still so good.
The Marc Jacobs fineliner particular in blacquer, the caffeinated concealer, Too Faced Gingerbread girl and boy
I decluttered every UD palette I was influenced into buying. Very over priced imo compared to comparable Indie Palettes or even Colour Pop.
Super random makeup I miss the Banana Pudding powder from Too Faced I think it was a collab with Kandy Johnson
I do miss the kvd chrysalis pallet but not so much the monarch butterfly palette and I owned both
The way I watch all y’all’s videos twice 😂 Love
You did realize that L’Oreal owns UD, right? Not Estee.
I never liked the original Naked & never bought it.
I do own several later palettes but none if the first several boring Nakeds. Love your channel ❤❤❤❤
The original looks too cool toned for me so no draw at all.
