THIS STORY:
Alan Eugene Magee was an American airman during World War II who survived a 22,000-foot free-fall from his damaged and doomed B-17 Flying Fortress.
THIS CHANNEL:
_________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.
#graves #cemeteries #death
Being a WWII history buff, I love these stories! Those men in the bombers had a lot of guts!! They all knew the odds were against them but they went anyway! Thank you all vets RIP SGT Alan Magee! You are a true hero!! Thanks again Ron for keeping the memories alive!!
I can't imagine what they all went through and then falling 20,000 feet. Thank you for our freedoms.
From a Military Brat…. Thank you Sir for your brave service.
Never a dull story from Uncle Ron! Very interesting one. Men like Alan are the true Hero's!
Thank you, but it's also true. Ron telling someones life story is 100 times more interesting then a lot of the shows that are on tv nowadays!
ty, inspiring
Man I couldn't imagine 14,000 feet is a full minute so he was in free fall for over 90 seconds. Average is 200 feet per second. Plenty of time to talk to God! Amazing story
I would have had died from a heart attack!
@@nancyguillette7283 girl same…I’d have died looong before hitting the ground…hell people pass out skydiving all the time. You can find videos of people doing tandem jumps and the instructor will have a passed out person strapped to their chest 😂
Thank you Mr. Alan Magee for your service, sacrifice, and heroism 🙏 🇺🇲. Great story Ron about this veteran from the Greatest Generation. He was a very lucky guy.
Not luck ,God
God had nothing to do with it. It’s an act of science. How he landed. Get real
There was something there to break his fall
God bless our military. This was a truly amazing story, and may Alan rest in peace.
I just happened to put my comment in and noticed your name. Dawn Taylor. Odd how I knew a girl by the same name, and the first time I commented, it showed up! I'm sure there's quite a few of them. Besides I'm willing you aren't from North Adams, Massachusetts. Have a good day lady.
He was just 24 days shy of turning 85 definitely got a good long life
He was given the time he needed too be on earth, and that was a long time R.I.P. Sir.
What a crazy story. I guess God helped him live his life. Great story Ron. Such bravery.
Such a terrific story. So glad he survived to live his life and to do good. Just amazing how he survived.
Thank you, Alan Magee, for your heroism and service to Our Country! You and the Crew of the Snap, Crackle, Pop will forever be remembered for the ultimate sacrifice, may they all rest in peace! Ron once again another fascinating story, thank you!
🙏🙏🙏
wow great story about Alan E Magee......... hope he is resting in peace 😘🙏
Ron, that was a AWESOME video my friend, I am 68 years old and never new anything about what the coins on a grave stone. Stood for. So thank you very much. FRANK from montana.......
Omg I have no clue what I’d be thinking about. I’ve heard of a lady who fell like 30,000 feet and survived. They said she had low blood pressure so that could’ve been why. And then hearing that he was hanging from a train station, if you’ve seen the longest day it reminds me of a paratrooper who got stuck at a church hanging there with his parachute. My grandpa in wwii was on a bomber when it started to go down. Next thing he knew it he was at one end of the runway all covered in ash and the plane was crashed at the other end. His guardian angel was at play there
Fabulous account of Alan's survival, what a great save for this brave man, how many more may have had this amount of luck we shall never know, if any.
RIP Sir, duty done.
Holy cow...what a story!!
I love his testimony and he obviously wasn't afraid to share it!
That was one of the most amazing stories I've heard you tell Ron! I could never get in that tiny space in a plane or sub etc. Yike! And God surely did answer his prayer 🙏 Thank you for your service and RIP 🙏 Alan. I'm sure he's met the wonderful Dr. who looked after him in the next life. Thanks Ron for sharing! You and Danny be safe. 💕
Hey Ron. Retired Marine Raider with many military and civilian jumps under my belt, but I also know one guy who survived falling but from a lesser height.

Ron, Thank you for this story. My Mother's cousin in WW2 was in the belly turret of a B-17, and wasn't as lucky as this man. He was shot down over the Pacific, and buried at sea. He has his name on a wall, in the U.S. Manila Military Cemetery in the Phillipines. Thank you for these stories to give recognition to "Our Great Generation" .
Thanks for sharing this story! My Uncle is 100! He was one of the plane mechanics during WW2! His crew worked on Slow But Sure! He is a very wonderful piece of our history! If you ever get the chance go to the Airborne Museum in Pooler GA! It’s right outside of Savannah! You won’t be disappointed!😊

RIP Alan. Thank you for your marvellous storytelling Ron. Stay safe and keep well.
What a fantastic story! Thank you Sgt Magee, for your service
What an incredible story! Just goes to show ya that God doesn't always save the best for last, but he sure does listen when we pray. I'm thinking that maybe passing out might have been a blessing in disguise too because it could have helped soften the blow somewhat or at least enough to survive it. Either way I would call it a miracle from above. He even lived a pretty long life after such traumatic injuries done to his body. Just amazing! Love the snap, crackle, pop and the logo on the plane too! RIP Sir and thank you for your service. You definitely went above and beyond the call of duty
