  • This Abandoned Mausoleum is now Trashed and in this video I'm going to give you a Before & After look at some parts of the property. Despite the bad news, I'll also give you a look at the condition of the roof, and there's more details to share about people wanting to help. The future of this place is still up in the air, but here's the latest update on this dismal place.

To follow up about me mentioning of not knowing of any other places like this... I know there's other Abandoned Mausoleums & Cemeteries out there, but this is the only one that was purchased at a tax auction, and the new owners immediately tried forfeiting the sale & denied knowing they purchased a Mausoleum. However things pan out in the future, I'll keep documenting it.

Money is always the big stop sign in any of these issues , and understanding the whole picture isn’t rocket science. I know the states have their own laws and procedures for this type of thing , my second call would be all and any health departments , city…county… then the state they can’t ignore the hazards that exist here ! Once it reaches the state level and the media , politicians will be scrambling to save face ,and their jobs . Good luck ,

@@1946luke You realize that these are businesses, right? Sometimes businesses go broke or the owners die off or whatever. No building can be a person's "final resting place". They all fail in 100 years or less unless you're going to spend tens of millions of dollars (for large mausoleums) to maintain and overhaul them like historic churches or other places. It's amazing that people still think this is a good idea for their final arrangements.

Let's be blunt. This is a terrible idea for "final arrangements". These are businesses and businesses go broke. Name 10 American small businesses from the 1950s that are still around today. People can barely even name 10 large American corporations from the 1950s that are around today. The life expectancy of these buildings is 75 years (at best) even when they're brand new.

Why wont the local township there done anything about it. I went back and watched your other videos on this. Absolutely horrible! When these people/families purchased their crypts it was with an implied expectation of continuous maintenance of the building. At the very least, their purchase price should be refunded to them. Since the building was not maintained, and is now condemned, they should not have to pay to have the bodies moved to another cemetery. Those who have already done this should be reimbursed for those expenses as well. Whether the township, or the municipality, the local government should have never let this property or the situation get this bad. Shame on all those responsible by their actions or non-actions. Thanks to you and the local news for your continued coverage and updates.

@Sister Spooky To be honest, regarding Good Shepherd Mausoleum, the PA State Government should track down as many of the Families as possible and have a meeting with them. The PA State Government should pay for everything I'm proposing in writing below.
From there, convince everyone to let the remaining bodies be extracted from the crypt, be buried beneath ground on the Good Shepherd Property, bulldoze and scrap the abandoned buildings, and turn that place into a Memorial Park Nature Preserve.
Plant more trees and natural vegetation, and help Mother Nature reclaim the property and comfortably return everyone's remaining beings to the Earth. Build a big Memorial Wall for everyone there. All the names, and the names of those who would work to turn that place into a Memorial Nature Preserve.
In another 8 to 10 years, Mother Nature is going to just reclaim that land anyway.

I did notice one really big change between your last video and this one.
When the photo montage started you can see that there was a window or door along the right hand wall practically next to the entrance door to the cemetery office. In the current picture that seems to have disappeared.

Forcing entry was wrong thing to do. If I desperately needed entry, I may be more inclined to buy a bolt cutter, and leave a note, if no-one overseeing entry. However, damaging the beautiful stained glass window, demonstrates the worst of humanity, best wishes

So about the boxes of stored childrens medication. I saw that much of it was allergy relief tablets which contain the active ingredient ephedrine. The tablets are broken down to extract the ephedrine which is used to illegally manufacture Methamphetamine. So basically it looks like the place was being used as a Meth Lab.
What better “unassuming” location to cook meth ??

Concerning the boxes of medication you pointed out. In times past it was legal to mail medication out of the country that were prescribed and over the counter meds as well. Charities were given this medication and they in turn sent them to the poor over seas. As long as the boxes or bottles weren't opened. Laws put in place now prohibit this practice. . 😔

Only two minutes in, and this is why I don't want to be buried or interred anywhere. I don't want my remains to end up in some crumbling mausoleum or overgrown cemetery. Just cremate me and sprinkle me somewhere I loved being, so I'll be one with nature. The way the Good Lord intended.

If I owned a cemetery, I'd let the families who had loved ones' there, let them relocate the remains' to my cemetery at no cost. I'd even section off an area just for them. New headstones' & caskets/Urns' if desired.

Perpetual care my big fat A ... this is incredibly sad and so disrespectful. I think the governed areas should round up unemployed and low risk jail birds to have field days to keep thesr places tidy. As far as the building, it probably wouldn't be rocket science to place a canopied roof to at least stop weather elements.

Just so so sad. I love to collect vintage medications and pills. Id love to have all those medicines you were showing in the beginning. I dont use the, but just showcase them in a glass display case. Also if i lived by, id love to cut all the grass and overgrown bushes and durbis from the office, and mauseloum. Heck. I could measure the building, and buy several heavy duty blue tarps, laser weld them together to make one giant tarp that wound cover the whole roof of the msdeoulm. I could use bricks to hold it down. Drape it over the edges, and tie it down in several places. This would be a very cheap way of keeping the roof from lesking and causing further damage. I would do this myself. I can get my hands on the tarps for free. Basically the roof of the mauseloum would be covered in one big blue tarp to protect it from further damage from the elements. There is also an easy way of catching the vandels. Get some motion activated wildlife cameras, hide them in several places in and around the mauleousrm, they hsve a super long life lithoum ion battery, and use a memory card to record the footage. Very cheap security system. Also i would purchase several of those bell and howell bionic flood lights they are motion activated and run off of lithium batteties and are charged by the sun. Very inexpensive. Heck i would be wiling to at least tarp the roof, seal up the windows, and install the motion activated cameras and floid lights. Would be a great start. Where is this place located? I am more of a winter cold weater guy, so id love to do all this work before the hot summer weather arrives. I could set up a go fund me to pay for some of the materials, but they are pretty cheap if someone seen me putting in the effort to make some repairs they msy reinburrse me for some of the matetials. I dont want any money for my time though. Just a thought. I have plenty of time on my hands.

    • @seangriffon6502
      @seangriffon6502 Год назад

Another thing that hit me was there are light fixtures hanging in the mauseloum. I wonder if there is any electrical power available? If so i do HVAC and i could install a all in one unit outside, ha d some DuctSox ductwork i side, and get some enviromental control going to help get rid of the mold and odor. Howevrr i dont think many want to pay the power bill for this. Better yet i could just use a good size dehumidifer for right now or mount a 24k btu window unit in one of the windows in the back side. Window could be removed, and a unit mounted in place. Would provide cooling and dehumidification at least. This along with roof tarped will prohibit any further mold growth, and keep things on the inside dry.

There's no power and unfortunately I don't believe the township will allow it to happen as it's tied up in the courts and a single party is refusing to take on ownership to pay back taxes and come up with a long-term solution to this property. You made some great suggestions though.

The only thing that can be done is reaching out to the family members who have family buried in the vaults. To see if they will give the okay to have the remains that are there removed and put in another location. If the family gives am okay then the remains can be moved the second thing is the family may not have the money then you will have to go with a go fund me to raise money to have the remains removed and put in another location.
