    I completed my first lower service today and it was all thanks to this video! My fork feels like butter now. Thanks for putting such easy to follow content out to help us. I hope you publish one for a full service next. T-50 hrs until I’ll need it. 😉 keep up the great work!

    Thank you for the video and I love my DVO suspension. It would be great to see a full service video on the Onyx. I just ordered all the parts and a little unsure on the bladder kit. Did not see it in the online guide.
    Also the Jade X Coil if you happen to get one in and have a chance to video. Such great products!

    FYI for people that buy a 2022, late 2021 model..
    Apply some heat before trying to do a travel change, DVO adds a lot of loctite and its super hard to take apart.
    Or be super strong if that is a option :D

    Thanks a bunch !. I have my onyx sitting here with some supergliss 100k I got really lucky to get.. cant way to change do a service while the winter chills are strong outside in canada !

    Why does mine feel like it has lock out off the top when i leave the bike sitting and come back to it. Feel like a solid fork then it loosens up a bit. But always solid when i come back to it ?

    Just performed the service, as I've done countless times on other forks over the years- and immediately after assembly i noticed the rebound dial is stuck! Cant even turn it with a longer allen key inserted at the bottom. And i dont wanna apply too much force and snap it. Any advice?

    What oil do I need for the onyx diamond. Iim only adding travel, if I carefullu take out the cartrige do I even need to add oil?

    Hi just want to say after watching both the how to remove lowers and the one on changing travel both videos were a good help only problem I had was removing the green nut inside the forks they used loctite
    Can you use Fox 20wt gold when putting the oil back in

    I saw 2 times the video!
    front axle from DVO I think has compatiblity failure with dt hubs...
    I have Onyx SC with Dt swiss 350 hub and have same mark in my axle after a few rides stops squezing!
    maybe had do recall and fix that problem I think!!

    Hi you state 10wt oil but I thought the Dvo service guide stated 7.5wt?

      Either is fine. As are most alternatives like fox 30 gold or 68k supergliss. Our forks arnt as temperamental as other brands

    What torque nm should it be for the top cap and footnut?
    I've read 10nm for top cap and 10 and 15nm for footnut, but not sure about how accurate is it as I don't recall it stating on DVO manual.

    Hi from uk bud, I’ve got got an onyx 29” arriving in the next few days it’s at 150mm so going to have to do a travel change, just want to check something with you if you have the time, on the dvo website it says 40cc in the lowers if 7.5w oil so would I change to 25cc if i use 10w? first time doing it all thanks to your videos!       Yeah mate just 25cc of 7.5 or 10wt is fine. Doesn’t need 40cc regardless of oil. Those instructions are a bit old

    This is excellent, thanks! DVO doesn't have a service manual for my Diamond E3 yet. Would you know how close what you're doing on your Onyx is to my E3? I do have an email from them telling me how much oil to use on each side.

    A video on tuning tips for an Onyx SC would be much appreciated. I am having trouble with harshness on small choppy bumps like braking bumps but it feels great on big single hits. I have been chasing my tail and don't know what direction to go.
    Also, any tips on fixing a self winding OTT? Mine ends up all the way in after a ride and really changes the feel of the fork.

      DVO gave me a plastic OTT locking cap to stop it from screwing itself in like you said, but it fell off after the first ride so....

    Serviced my diamond a few times and sometimes my rebound knob has become really tight/ almost unturnable prior to the final torque of the foot nuts after service. What is going on and how can I prevent this?

      Yeah happens all the time, it’s not really a problem or anything. You just have to crack it back open and you are away laughing

    Hey there, I pulled the lowers off and there's hardly any oil come out but alot of grease build up inside the lowers. Is this normal? Thanks so much and love your tutorials!!!

      I just did the lower leg service on my Onyx and the air shaft side had a ton of grease on it, while the damper shaft had none. Same as you there was barely any oil coming out of the air shaft side, I think it was mostly grease with some oil. The damper side had a fair amount of oil. From this video and the service manual, they make no indication that any grease needs to be used on that area.
      I put in 25cc of oil in each leg and put it back together.

    Cheers for the reminder! I can only find a 35/36 seal press. Which doesn’t make sense as they are two different diameters. What seal press do you suggest? This fork is too nice to use the plastic conduit fitting and a mallet

      35 / 36 may be dual sided or have enough room to fit both sizes. So grab one of them and just send it

    Great video, thanks. Did you depressurize the air chamber before removing the lowers, if so I missed it? Any need to pull the air chamber top cap and do any lube change in there?

      To do a lowers service you don’t need to take the air out. If your doing anything with the OTT negative spring or Air top cap all the air needs to be out

    So, this is a very good and detailed video, but I was wondering, would the one leg not have more oil in it than the other because there was oil in the syringe's tube? Pretty sure that isn't included in the volume measurement of the syringe, but I'm also not sure how much liquid the tube holds or if it is enough to make a difference. Would appreciate some thoughts.

      Any 36mm seal press tools will work in the onyx yip

    How do your remove the 110x15mm axle if the nut comes off but axle remains in place??

      Gently tap it out. Shouldn’t happen if your axle is well greased up.

      I’ll make one the next diamond we do. We sell maybe 1 diamond to every 10 onyx forks so it’s a bit rare for us but I’ll get it done for ya

    I have 20wt Fox Gold but it gets very gloopy around freezing temps (winter). Is Supergliss the way to go? Also saw Motorex 7.5 or 10wt. And I have Fox 5wt ptfe at hand...

      If you are riding in freezing temps then I’d be going 7.5wt motorex for sure

      Depends a lot on temperature. Thicker oil is better when it’s hot all the time and thinner oil performance is better in the cold

      We don’t really do many diamonds but the next one I get in I will video for you. However it’s not super applicable as we vacuum bleed our fork dampers

    Are the wiper seals as good as the SKF ones which claim to be low friction??

      Honestly of all the seals I’ve tested they are all very close so wouldn’t worry about it. Things like sizing bushings, Lubing air pistons or just doing your 50hr service intervals make way more difference
