Yeah I like when she does that too Jack. She jumps from a lower register to higher register. She glides to that head voice with ease. She's simply amazing. One of the things I liked most about her is how she sang with so much passion. It's like the lyrics hit her first before she sang them to the crowd & you can feel it. It's like she's taking those lyrics bringing them to life and singing a balm back to us.

@@JackReacts904 Ok man I’ve heard you say this twice and nobody has corrected you so I will. Whitney’s prime was from 1985-1994/1995. We say it’s her prime because was able to belt night after night, she had impeccable breath support and her vocal range was at its best. Whitney’s voice began to decline right after her Bodyguard era due to constant touring and cigarette smoking. If you want to hear Whitney at her absolute best just listen to her live performances of: The Greatest Love Of All (Wembley Stadium), I Am Changing (San Francisco 1986 audio clip no actual video footage available), My Man/ Lover Man/ All The Man I Need, He I Believe (Japan 1990)-basically any live performance of hers in that 1985-1994 era. Those years were her absolute prime vocals.

@@jobuck879 I respectfully disagree. A person’s prime isn’t the beginning of their career, it’s the height of it! Whitney’s career began in 1984, so based on that, and the fact that I personally grew up during this time. I would say that her prime was more like 1990 through to the year 2000. Her My Love Is Your Love Album released in 1998 is FIRE and one of my favorites. After the year 2000 is when everything started catching up with her and she completely unraveled. It wasn’t exactly cigarette smoking that was the issue, so let’s be honest about what we’re talking about here. Whitney was in her prime until she wasn’t. In the year 2000 she was barely seen in public, and when she was, she was an extremely skinny hot mess. Her Diane Sawyer interview in 2002 is an example of an addict’s animosity and resentfulness when they’re forced into any period of sobriety/recovery. She looked better, had gained some weight, but was hella pissed off at the world. The show Being Bobby Brown in 2005 was her rock bottom, and unfortunately it was televised for all to see. According to a 2009 interview with Oprah, she did not want to do the show. She did it for Bobby, because she felt he really needed a “come back”. Instead of a comeback, the American public was shown a train wreck (including their lack of poor judgment for even doing the show at that time.) What we learned from the show, was that Whitney really liked to eat. She was a huge foodie, and not the healthiest eater. Smoking crack was unfortunately how she “maintained” her figure. The press and the public were ruthless to her for gaining even just a few pounds. She became addicted early in her career, but it had a lot to do with her love of food and need to lose weight quickly before big events. The press and public don’t like celebrities over weight. Princess Diana suffered tremendously from anorexia and bulimia during the late 80s and 90s. I remember the rag mags in the grocery stores showing no mercy to either. It’s disgusting that women are shamed for even small amounts of natural weight gain and it still happens today.

They are called runs or scales some call it melisma but it happens when you glide over notes going down up or up and it can be in natural to head voice, Whitney was the only singer who could transition from natural to head voice and not hear that click because there is no connection from natural to falsetto except through your mixed chest and head voice.

Whitney was not at her vocal best but still always managed to work around her inconsistencies. Inspite of all the issues from her declining vocals she still killed it and made it a beautiful performance with so much emotion.

  • @deshaunx776

Fun Fact: Whitney actually hosted the Kids Choice Awards on Nickelodeon. Twice! At the time, the Kids' Choice Awards were kind of a joke but picked up enough momentum to start getting mentioned alongside other awards' shows. Whitney was by FAR the biggest star to host the event, and her being there gave the show major clout. This is especially because Whitney was the face of many charitable causes at this time in the 1990s. She had so much fun in 1995 that she did it again in 1996 before handing it off to Rosie O'Donnell who took over for the next 7 years.
