Great quality videos. Your temperatures are spot on, there is no need to go above 125 and it can be detrimental if you do.
Can I offer a tip on how you go about selecting candidates for genetic sampling?
First, size has no statistically quantifiable affect on Pb or Pn content, bigger does not automatically mean more potent. It can, but because you are dealing with probably one of the most amazing things in nature, it is not possible to know. It is common to have an absolutely giant specimen and have little potency to show for it. Unless you are running an HPLC test on every single mushroom to determine content %, there is simply no way to being sure.
Secondly, waiting until the Veil is about to break is not the ideal moment to harvest a Psi containing mushroom. Just prior to a mushroom developing and breaking its veil, it has ceased producing Psi, and instead focused on producing spores, dedicating all of its energy towards reproduction and not protection (Psi is a defensive chemical).
The ideal moment is largely intuitive, it is at some stage in the fruiting body process when it is still an Adolescent growing towards an Adult fruiting body, but well prior to Mature, which is when it enters its sporulation phase. If a veil begins to develop and you can see it separating, you waited too long. It takes time to develop this intuition. The "feels like a marshmallow" test is only valid for certain strains of Cubes.
My suggestion, if you're going to pursue mycology this way, is to create a system that you can repeat on every batch and flush. How much you are willing to commit to it in terms of finances and space is largely going to dictate everything.
Every batch, tub and flush is given a number, correlating to an entry in a notebook that contains all the relevant information from inoculation to fruiting, dates, substrate, supplements, etc.
I nominate 4 mushrooms per flush for sampling. The candidates are 1st to Fruiting Body (1FB), Largest in Flush (LIF), Visually Ideal (VIP, because why not) and 1st to Sporulation (1S). 1FB and 1S are typically your strongest genetics, since the goal for every mycellium network is to reproduce as quickly and energy efficiently as possible. 1S requires you to 'sacrifice' the candidate, since you won't be able to harvest it at its ideal moment.
I do this for each Flush.
Depending on how many tubs you are running concurrently, it can become cost prohibitive to have this many agar plates. I can easily go thru 12 to 18 plates per tub, sometimes more. After a few weeks in an Agar plate I discard the weakest developers and instead turn my attention to the plates that developed the best.
The reasoning behind this is that the most valuable thing you can gain from sampled genetics is Time.
Considering that it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 months, depending on strain or species, to successfully fruit a tub, the strains that colonize and successfully develop to fruiting bodies in the shortest amount of time are the most valuable.
Thanks for the in depth response and knowledge! It is much appreciated, and I'm going to pin your comment because I believe it is valuable information and I know that I can be a little vague in the commentary so hopefully this helps other viewers as well. I like your method of taking 4 mushrooms per flush to capture all the different sought after genetics, looks like I will need to get some more agar cups or start making my own :)
A friend of mine likes to use those little condiment cups like you find at any Mexican restaurant for your red or green sauce. 😂👍🏻
The 4 nominees for "sampling" ... is that tissue culture samples for cloning? Is that why you said you sacrifice the 1S?
Great info. Some I had learned and some was new to me. I love learning. Now to translate my knowledge toward shitakèz 😂
Dude… nobody is reading your book you just posted…
@@GoombaGrowsif you’re going to use a liner, use clear. Some of the biggest growths I’ve seen are under the nutrient level along the sides…. Mushrooms are sneaky as fuck . Also, liners don’t work and obstruct your view of the 12 inch monster sucking all the food from your mycelium block lol
Best quote “You really don’t wanna eat that considering theirs shit in it”
YOU are the first person I have found to state WHY you need to get the shrooms before they drop spores. THANK YOU!!! 🎉
Of course! Spores can also cause problems for people that have sensitive breathing depending on the quantity of mushrooms your growing so that is another point I forgot to mention :)
I was wondering this too
Just learned this
Just today. I was wondering. Like YT is reading my mind.
What was ur total yeald dry?
Shoe box with cut holes at front and end with any working pc fan and thread to put muchrooms on, will dry and preserve them perfectly not a single dark spot just dry as stone that can be crushed in powder, takes 1-2days costs ~3$ for those who dont want to buy expensive dryers and dont want their fruits to have contact with heat of dryers.
Is that magic mushroom?
@@levi1875yeah, should work with nearly any mushroom, especially psilocybin. If anything you could argue that a drying process like this causes less of the psilocybin to degrade via heat causing them to retain their potency much more.
Pretty much the only downside is that it'll be open to the environment and takes a little longer, you'll wanna make sure it's in a nice clean place free of any bugs or pathogens that may want to nibble away at them.

these are so beautiful wow
the knowledge is definitely there.
In the future, it probably isn't a great idea to pick an already sporulated mushroom for cloning. If you're gonna clone a specimen, pluck it in advance of the veil breaking.
Once the spores enter the equation it's a crap shoot whether the culture that takes off is actually from the cloned tissue or not.
thats a really good point hadnt considered cross contamination between fruiting bodies
Epic! Great video. Thank you.
I think you were right to clone from the first flush. My understanding is that the latter flushes almost always produce larger fruit due to the fact that they simply have less competition for nutrients, water, space, etc. also great video! 👍🏻
great video as always!!

once you transfer it to a mono-tub and you start seeing pins, then it seems like the growing process speeds up dramatically.
right? It seems to be roughly 2 weeks after you initiate the fruiting conditions, and then you are at the harvest stage

Side pins are bonus mushrooms. Nobody would think about it if somebody sometime needed content and made it a bro-science topic.
You called it a Donger haha and it's funny because after laughing I thought alright I'll subscribe lol
Thanks for the support!!
Just pick up your fruiting container at spawn and tap it down against the surface for side pins, if you really want to make sure you don't get them then pack down the sides lightly this will ensure the substrate colonized flush against the liner and your whole substrate will be stuck to the liner. You literally have to pull it off if you want it off.
Thanks for your comment! I actually did pat down all of the sides when spawning to bulk but the cake only stuck to one side and all of the other ones pulled in as it shrank. I think it sticks better using a garbage bag like liner. The max yield bin liners didn’t seem to work too well.
Yup that’s what I do. Liner sticks nice and tight to the substrate as it shrinks. Every now and then I might have like a small inch or two section that may come lose during a harvest. But that’s way better than no liner and having a crap ton of side pins. Idk why people paint or put tape around the bottom of their tub. Light isn’t the only thing that triggers pinning. You still have that perfect micro climate once the substrate shrinks.
Did you use coco cuir for this at the fruiting stage?
Nice 👍
Was that a second flush including dunking for X hours. Or
was this a continuation from the first flush (non grown pins)
Yessir the second flush was after a dunk for about 18 hours!
@@GoombaGrows beautiful thank you 🙏
Im on my first grow with the max yield bin. My substrate was fulky colonized and pins showing 6 days after .ixing it with my grain spore and using the colonizer lid. I also had the black tape over the small holes on the bottom bin. After those 6 days and fully colonized i added a thin layer of coco coir that i misted until its fully saturated and switched to the fruiting lid with the white filters. It has plenty of humidity in there and on the lid. Should i pull the black tape off the holes now or wait until it colonizes the coco coir and pins come up?
Good question and honestly I’m not 100% sure and I don’t want to give you any wrong info, but I do suggest that if your introducing fruiting conditions to go ahead and put micropore tape over the bottom holes instead of the black tape.
What are the fruiting conditions ? New substrate ?
I like your videos , i live in the caribbean on a small island. Can we grow GTs outdoors or atleast in greenhouses ?
It does depend on the species you are growing but a lot of them are going to need a temperature controlled environment so it could be difficult to grow outdoors!
GTs in particular need 75-85 degrees for colonization and 70-80 degrees for fruiting. But it has to stay consistent or it could effect growth rates. Hope this helped :)
You should never grow Psilo containing mushrooms outdoors, or anywhere animals, children or unassuming adults can come into contact with it. Using tubs is the only way to prevent spores from escaping into the "wild" and causing an accidental contact. Growing outdoors or in greenhouses opens you up to the most evil thing in Mycology: Contamination. Finding these mushrooms in the wild, even on a pasture, is a statistical anomaly bordering on minor miracle because of how prevalent Mold/Bacteria/Yeast spores are in the air, all air.
The intent is to be applauded but the risks and difficulties involved are not worth it.
Are you making a video on rehydrating the mycelium?
Good question! Sadly for this particular harvest I forgot to get footage of dunking the cake so it will have to wait for a future video but I do plan on covering it :)
Interesting that you are picking some before the veil breaks.
The best time to harvest them is right before the veil breaks ! Since the veil on most of the mushrooms has already torn it was only a matter of a few hours before it happened with the rest of them.
What type of substrate did you use?? Did you wait for your grain to really solidify before transferring over?? Nice nice quality 👍
I used manure based substrate in this video and I did not wait for the grain to fully solidify. It was very solid and pretty much fully colonize but the second I see complete white in my spawn bags I spawn them to bulk :)
Great video thanks, sub. 👍
Thank you for watching!!
I’m so new to this. Got my magic grow bag and a spore syringe. First time ever trying to grow mushrooms. What do you mean when they lose their spores? And any thing else or advice you could give me would be great and much appreciated. Thank you. Love the video
Thanks for watching! Most mushrooms will sporulate after they have fully grown. This is because the mushrooms know they are at the end of their life cycle. They drop their spores to continue spread genetics for future mushrooms to grow. These spores however are usually pretty bad for people with sensitive lungs. All though it is perfectly fine to eat them they can change the way the mushroom you are eating tastes. Because of this it is usually best to harvest the mushrooms before they sporulate. Hope this helps! If you have further questions feel free to message me on insta and I will try to get back to all messages as soon as possible!
How did it go with the magic bag?
Nice video..how do u tell Mushrooms are dry and not too dry Is there some type of method to no for sure there done?
For the most part it needs to be cracker dry. You shouldn’t be able to bend the mushroom at all. If you try to bend it, it needs to snap in half. That’s the best way that I tell if they are dry enough. I don’t necessarily think you can over dry them unless you leave them in for a very long time. I have actually started to dehydrate on 110 for about 12 hours. It has been working well even for the bigger mushrooms. When I was only dehydrating for 8 or so hours some of the big ones would have to be redone to be fully dehydrated.
What is that strain had a random spore swab and have fruits on point with these in the video. I have no idea bc the were not labeled but a freebie from a mss I got
Feel free to hit me up on insta where I talk more freely about the species!
What're you using for substrate? Great video
Thanks for the comment! I’m just using a basic pasteurized manure based substrate.
Can I use cow manure from Home Depot?
@@DADDYCOKE2012 good question and that sounds like a good future video idea. In short yes. I don’t see why you can’t. Got to look at the fine print of what’s all in it and you have to pasteurize it using oven or pressure cooker tek but it should work!
@@DADDYCOKE2012Make sure to let us know if you find out. A complete shot in the dark id try something like 5% pasteurized manure to coir first. Hell, I think I may try it after I get a few flushes under my belt. Just put my first ever 3 bags of UB to bulk 2 days ago. Fingers crossed!
5:25 I assume from “heavy misting”
Is it bad to cut the mushrooms into smaller pieces before putting them in the dehydrator? If not, why do you choose to dehydrate the big mushrooms in one piece?
The little mushrooms that don't develop ares still good to dry and eat? do they have any psilocybin at all? thanks for yr amazing content!!
Yes they are totally fine to eat. Some may be super small after dehydrating but I usually grind mine into a powder so it doesn’t matter for me at all!
A handful of pins vs a handful of monsters all day, everything magic develops in the early stages of fruiting. Or so I'm told😅
@@GoombaGrows what do you use to grind them? and also. ive heard that cutting them up can destroy the cell wall and loose potency. Not sure if this is the case or not or if its different to when they are wet or dry?
Yo badasss I have the exact air fryer
How often were you misting during the fruiting stages?
Good question! For the first flush I barely misted at all and in fact I slightly over misted so I used a paper towel to dry up some of the surface water. But the more flushes the more you need to mist it seems along with dunking of course. I will try and get a video out on rehydrating with the next harvest!
Goomba????? the super mario 1:06
Hey, how can I dehydrate my shrooms without a air fryer or a dehydrator?
Do you keep all the little shrooms too? So before you heavy mist for 2nd flush there should be no shrooms on the substrate?
When I am going into my second flush before I dunk I like to try and remove every mushroom. Even the little ones. If they are too little though and hard to grab I will let them be.
What can be used if one doesn't have a dehydrator
excellent video! is there a reason you do not wash the mushrooms prior to dehydrating? it is manure after all, could easily make you sick
Yes, I believe this is mainly personal preference. I don’t like washing them as they can be very fragile and I’m worried they will become soggy or take a lot longer in the dehydrator if I wash them. I instead try and snip the bottom of the mushroom off where any substrate was and if any is still left after dehydrating you can usually brush it off pretty easily :)
@@GoombaGrows YES, they become soft/gloopy when exposed to water....nealy impossible to dry completely
Are the mushrooms still good if the spores get on caps and turn the caps black?
Yes they are totally fine! Might have a slightly different taste but other than that nothing to worry about :)
So the best time to harvest them is when the cap is open? Or just opening? Im growing some myself and im trying to understand the havesting part
And dose it affect its effect
From what I have learned the perfect time is right before the veil drops. Depending on genetics and conditions size can very greatly making it very hard to tell when the “perfect” time is to harvest. Because of this many growers will harvest right as the first veil begins to drop / cap starts to open up. This tends to be a better indication of when your mushrooms are almost fully grown rather than guessing
I was wondering about the very small ones. I always think they are gonna be the next flush, but now I'm wondering if they should be removed before soaking for next flush?
Most likely should remove them. For me I’m on the third flush and some of them were to small to remove. Luckily no contamination yet so it’s probably not the end of the world if you don’t.
Absolutely should take them out
So I got a grow bag. Virgin grower. I'm on day 37. And my bag is not completely white like in some videos. But I do have mushrooms starting to grow. Should I go into fruiting stage? Thx
I do know that those grow bags can sometimes take awhile. If the mushrooms are starting to grow though definitely transfer it into fruiting conditions. Some fresh air will get them growing nicely :)

@@rickyspanish3668 yesssir exactly! Just do as the mushrooms say lolll. If they want to grow let them grow 😁
God dm, all these years and didnt know for a fact that the spores hitting the mycelium tells it the mission is over aka no second flush lol always had this intuition, like it was telling me that was a problem but no one ever confirmed it. Thanks
Of course! I read about it a bit before starting my grow and was a bit skeptical if that really was the case but sure enough I accidentally let one of my bins go for too long and it dropped a ton of spores. The second flush on that bin was minuscule compared to the bin that wasn’t harvested late.

I noticed your tub had condensation before you opened it up. Is that from misting by chance? 2:00
No sir, I don’t mist for the initial fruiting stage as the moisture content of the substrate tends to provide plenty of humidity for the first round of mushrooms :)
yo how do you store them after dehydrating? i dont got a vaccum sealer or nothing what could i do?
I don’t use a vacuum sealer all though that would probably be super helpful. I just put them in an ordinary jar with one of those moisture absorber packets
How long do you keep your light on in fruiting?
I usually keep it on during the day and turn it off for the night. Usually around 8-12 hours a day.
So do you add water or anything in between flushes ? When you say re dunk the cake what do you mean ? sorry complete Amateur here
All good! I shoulda got footage of me dunking the cake but it completely slipped my mind. I have some new bins going now and will make sure to get a video up for dunking this time. But essentially you just completely submerge the cake into water and let it sit for usually 12-24 hours. This will allow the cake to soak up a lot more water to prepare it for future flushes.
What do you do if there growing at different speeds? Like some that are big and some that are just pinning? Do you just harvest the big ones?
Yes! I try to harvest all at the same time but I mainly use liquid culture with my grows and if you are using spores the time in which your fruits mature can be different. If you have a lot that you believe will continue growing and are small I recommend picking the mature ones and then leave the smaller ones for another day or two. Hope this answer helps a little.
@@GoombaGrowsthanks so much! Hi, looking into growing some. I dont really have a place i can leave them with natural light. Could i grow these in a dark place with artificial lighting?
Yes 100% any light works, they don’t NEED light but it does help give the mushrooms a direction to grow in :)
@@GoombaGrows so in theory I could grow them in a completely dark place?
@@jordanlayfield8975 yessir!
I got some shrooms but the harvester didn’t cut or clean the substrate off of them before dehydration should I just wash it off is it safe?
Yup I would just wash it off, even like a toothbrush would probably get a lot of it off. And it won’t hurt ya if you end up eating a minuscule amount.
Does it matter for the trip if it late his spores ?
I don’t believe so
I think I waited to long to harvest mine. Most of them are really small, like really tiny and I have a few really big ones like in the video. I thought the small ones would get bigger but now the big ones have opened and started to flop over and are getting fuzzy. Is it still good to harvest or did I ruin it?
They more than likely are not ruined. The fuzziness is probably the mycelium trying to reclaim the fruit from being mature for too long but as long as it is not mold than you can still pick them, dry them and eat them as normal :)
@@GoombaGrows some of them are starting to darken. Im not sure if it’s mold or they are just dying off. It’s a grow kit in a bag, my first one. I just realized I missed a step and never cut the sides and flushed with fresh air, so I think that’s why most of them don’t grow bigger. I might just harvest everything that doesn’t look bad and try again lol. Thanks for the reply
Can you actually freeze dry them or does it hurt the end product
You can!
A newbe here ,how long have light on for how long ?no its say not in direct light .or don't need be in dark
I don’t usually have the light on for longer than 8-10 hours. Usually I just turn it on during the day and turn it off when it’s dark. About 8 hours a day.
Is it okay to cut them out ? I have some ripe ones very much attached to smaller unripe ones. Cut a few at the bases last night ..
Yes totally fine! The mycelium will reclaim the base. Usually the small ones will not grow much bigger though either way.
@@GoombaGrows I'm finding all this true as I do it. This is my first time but it's been very successful so far. Just harvested everything I could, added water to the bottom for the substrate to walk up as it was getting dry. The top got wet but I dumped some out and provided more ventilation. Dehydrating the first batch of the first flush, rehydrating substrate while the stragglers finish maturing . Got a spore print attempt going and really want to attempt cloning bc I may have a unique albino strain. YT is censoring my vids but I do still have some up on this project if anyone is interested or wants to give feedback . Thanks !
So in air fryer on dehydrate setting I’m at 130° and in 2 hours they’ve really shrunk and parts are cracker-y. Is that normal? I feared it was not and lowered the temp to 105°. Not everything was crispy yet, like the bigger stems for example. Most of the fruits I have are in the middle size range when compared to yours. It’s just high heat that kills them, right? Low heat for maybe too long will that also kill them?
I believe low heat will be just fine for as long as you want. But there is a good in between for the two. From the research I’ve done it seems that the lower temp for longer will keep there shape better. I have started doing about 110 for around 12 hours. Sometimes longer depending on size of the fruit. I think you want to try and stay below 120f no matter what though. As I think above 125f is where potency starts to degrade. I’ve also heard that oxidation can cause potency loss so you want to avoid just leaving them out for multiple days which is why the air dry / fan method is not the best.
@@GoombaGrows OK, so I can report lower temp worked best but most importantly IT WORKED! Thank you for quelling my anxiety, homie! 0.5g was relaxing asf.
which dehydrator/air fryer is that?
It is the farberware French door air fryer / dehydrator. I got mine from Walmart but you can find them online as well :)
What is the usual amount harvested using the max yield bin?
If I’m lucky I can get a quarter pound of mushrooms dried.
I have one mushroom that just broke from the veil. 4 or 5 other mushrooms a couple days behind and a million little mushrooms just pinning. Should I pick that one largest mushroom now?
I would recommend picking almost all of them at the same time! Sometimes it’s hard when one is done way before the others but if you wait for the rest of the veils to break that one mushroom may drop spores which can hurt your yield and potentially increase chance of contamination. I’ve read a lot about when the right time to harvest is and it’s actually sometime mid growth usually right before the veil breaks but that can be very hard to determine so that one that’s done is probably a good sign that the rest are about ready as well. And the small ones that have just recently pinned you want to pick most of those as well because a lot of them will turn to aborts after that first harvest. Usually you can be fine by letting them stay on and the mycelium will take it back over but you do raise chance of contamination that way so getting all of them off so you are able to dunk your cake is your best bet! Hope this helped :)
@@GoombaGrows so no matter how big they are they will drop spores almost at the same time?So picking a few big ones and let the others grow is not üossible? I would think they came out later they need few days more.i am very confused with that.grow them for the first time.2 days ca. to go for the biggest
@@noobwithattitude3755 for the most part yes. That is correct. So long as you grew them from isolated genetics they should all sporulate around the same time. Now there is definitely exceptions and sometimes it’s beneficial to leave some of the medium sized mushrooms to grow further after you harvest some. 9 times out of 10 you will probably he able to identify which mushrooms will be able to continue on and which ones will turn to aborts.
Ok thats all i need.thank you for the info

How much was it in total after the drying process ?
For this grow I got 6 flushes out of the cake, netting me around 200 grams dried
Lol well these certainly arent shitakes like my log.. all mushrooms are awesome, though especially these. And i dehydrated the shitakes practically the same but its closer to 125 for 8ish hours in slices, they are bone dry good for at least a year in a jar with a o2 absorbjng packet Since you have these as full sized they probably need that lower temp to avoid getting too dry on the outside before the inside is dehydrated. Wonder where i can get spore prints for these tho.
7:25 Interesting. I was wondering, "Why is he picking up those tiny mushrooms? They haven't even grown yet?"
Right! It had me confused as well why they wouldn’t continue growing.
Is there a difference in temperature between spawning and fruiting?
Yes very slightly, I usually will try to keep temps around 80f for colonizing and when fruiting I usually go down to 75f. I’ve heard somewhere that lowering the temperature when introducing FAE will help promote fruiting. It depends on what species you are growing though. Some prefer different temperatures.
@@GoombaGrows Thank you!
So is it bad if the veil breaks?
No sir not at all, its preferred to harvest before spores drop but other than that its not a big deal if the veil breaks or not :)
How do you dunk the substrate?
I have a video up on my channel showing the dunking process :)
Thanks
Does the dehydration temperature matter all that much? I am seeing conflicting info saying to do it at low temp, but then some say the temp doesn't matter (they say it doesn't reduce potency) its about oxidization and you want to dry them out as fast as possible to prevent bacteria/mold from growing.
Temperature doesn’t matter THAT much. But it does play a role. I personally wouldn’t go above 150 Fahrenheit. But you technically don’t even need temperature at all. I just recommend to use around 100-120 Fahrenheit for around 8-10 hours in the dehydrator and try to get them dehydrating as soon as possible after harvest!
Doesn't hurt at all but like he said around 150 is good. Think about it, people cook with them, make tea out of them. Temp has to be supper high to kill any potency like that.
I'll say this, don't ever wet them before you dry them. Don't wash them off after picking before drying them. Because when you dry them it'll bake them all, they will turn black and super hard. Don't wash them lol ruined a whole lot one time like this lol of course lions mane.....
You should of let the 'donger' open its veil, that would of veen the one to get a print as well as take tissue and put it on agar to grow liquid culture...
You're also not getting them completely dry... theyre 90% water by weight, so that was a little high, if they dont snap when trying to bend them or turn to powder while grinding them, they arent cracker dry.. any water (oxygen) thats going to speed along degradation aswell as potential mold, so getting them purged of all water is one of the biggest factors in shelf life.
If you get them cracker dry, vacuum seal them in individual bags (i do 8ths per bag so when I want some, I'm not dusturbing more than what is needed and exposing them to fresh oxygen, heat, light..if i need more than that, i grab 2 bags or whatever is needed), add them all to a large Mason jar with oxygen and water absorbers, then throw the whole thing in the freezer. They'll last longer than 2 years with no signs of degradation that way, unless they still have water inside them, but if you throw water absorbers into each individual bag, that can help them dry further.. i do that even when I know they're dry, yeah it's a hassle, but i didn't put all that time into it just to have them degrade on me..
If you don't take some of these precautions and just have them in a baggy or in a mason jar, they degrade rather fast, psilocybin is relatively unstable in normal atmospheric conditions, especially when it comes too heat, oxygen, and light... on the flip side, no oxygen, the colder you can store it, and even a dark tented jar it will increase their shelf life, by a lot.
I've had some where I noticed some degradation in a few weeks, others that have lasted months with no signs of degradation.. I don't know if different species and variants/sub variants have different enzymes or something that protects the psilocybin and psilocin, but both grows were dried, stored in the same jar, no light, same temperature, etc, so there shouldn't of been any difference and if there was it would of been negligible.
I added a subtitle in the video when editing about getting them dry to the point where they crack but when I rendered the video the subtitle disappeared. But I am definitely getting them dry enough. If 9 hours at 110 isn’t enough for some of the bigger mushrooms and they still bend I put them in for longer. But 90% of the mushrooms are completely dry in 9 hours.
Good tips on storing them as well. When mine are dry I throw them in a big mason jar with a silica gel packet, seal it and leave it in my closet. I haven’t noticed any degradation keeping them at room temperature but it would be a good video idea to try and test if there is a difference storing them in a cooler environment after they have been dried.
I said the same about the donger. Could have been a lot bigger. As for the cracker dry deal. Not all of them get dry like that. Some have a dense and spongy texture at the same time. I have a lot of different strains and there’s definitely some differences.
Nice job 👍
Can those little ones be eaten as well?
Yessir of course! They are all edible :)
"absolute donger" hahah
How did you rehydrate between flush 1 & 2? Soak or just heavy mist?
I did a dunk for my next flushes, I have a video up on this process :)
@@GoombaGrows - nice one - thank you
Of course! Thanks for watching
At what stage do you take off the micropore tape?
Good question! I don’t change the micropore tape until every flush has finished and I’m certain no more mushrooms will grow. That’s when I toss the rest of the cake as all the nutrients has been removed and prepare the bin for the next grow. Hope this helps!
@@GoombaGrows Thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.
@@charlottethompson8324 Of course! If I have the time I will always reply to as many comments as possible. I love to help my viewers :)
I dehydrate my first flush in an air fryer at 165f for 6hrs and most of them are black like they are burnt. Someone let me know if this is common or did I set the temp too high.
Temp 100% too high. I wouldn’t go over 130, you may find different opinions on this and it depends on your dehydrator/air fryer. I usually stick with 110-120f for 10-12 hours.
Air dry them in the sun in a colander or something it’s free & simple ppl make this shit so unnecessarily complicated
1 week and 7 days?
what type of shrooms did you use here?
Check out the instagram!
May I ask how to dehydrate if you can’t use an oven, air fryer etc? Hope you’ll read the comment
Yes! You can simply leave them out for a few days in the sun or in front of a window that gets a lot of sunlight. You can also put a fan in front of them to speed up the process :)
@@GoombaGrows thank you :D I’ll try my best
Are shrooms ready before viel drops?
Yes, technically the best time to harvest your mushrooms is a day or so before the veil drops. It’s just hard to tell sometimes when that is so the veil dropping is usually the best sign to know it’s time to harvest.
@@GoombaGrows Thanks
Do u have to dehydrate before eating?
No you dont ,but if you want to store them for long term you dehydrate
What David said! Spot on. They will only last a couple days without being dehydrated.
@@GoombaGrows ty
What air fryer is that?
It is the faberware French door air fryer from Walmart! Pretty sweet air fryer for 99$ and works as a dehydrator as well :)
Thanks. I love your videos by the way! I’m working on my first grow and I’ve learned alot from you :)
@@quietufool7478 I’m glad I could be of help!! Good luck on your first grow :)
What kind of oven do you have ?
@@leorichard4502 can't find that one can you add a link?
I have a farberware air fryer from Walmart but it goes down to 100f with the dehydrate setting
Thanks brother. You rock!
По началу в перчатках работал. В середине видео уже без перчаток)
Yeah the gloves became annoying halfway through and honestly I found it unnecessary. It’s good for the aesthetic of the video but when harvesting it’s hardly necessary.
What strain is this?
RUclips can sometimes be not so fond of disclosing the species of mushroom you are growing. I recommend heading over to my instagram where I am more open about the current species I’m growing on the channel :)!
My box only has side pins, can anyone explain why?
from what I’ve seen from other grows the main cause of that would be that the substrate or casing layer is packed too tightly not allowing the mushrooms enough oxygen and moisture to grow. It could most definitely be something else causing the issue but from what I’ve seen that’s what I know.
Makes sense as my packages got held up for a week in the delivery process, thanks man do you have anywhere I could send you photos to get anymore possible Info?
@@Kay-98 yessir! Head over to my insta and shoot me a dm. I try to get back to everyone as fast as possible :)
You've got really beautiful boys there. 😍
Thank you sir!
What substrate?
Manure based substrate that I purchased from north spore :)
