Garlands is THE most underrated album by Cocteau Twins. It is a masterpiece. There is so much desperation, melancholy and hope together with anger. It is delightful.
Imagine how much more powerful and glorious they would have become if they would have only remained on this thematic track of mysterious darkness! I always wondered why they went all shimmery and blissed out. Oh well, it's all good when it comes to them, I shouldn't complain really, I guess.
the biggest change from garlands and everything following is that bassist will heggie was replaced by simon raymond and after this the sound changed this is not the sole reason but better or worse its a different band.if you like wills sound check out lowlife their first few albums are great
I don't think I've ever heard this version... I prefer the drum sound on this compared to the one I'm familiar with. I also like the bass. Could you tell me where this version comes from? Edit: Never mind, I just found out where it came from : )

Bill Smith I don’t think they wanted to dwell in the dark but still dwindle in a dream world!

Read recently by some expert to avoid garlands! Their best album for me a concert in a medieval church with incense an a angel
Obra Maestra
