Glacier View

We stayed Glacier View Lodge opposite the famous Athabasca Glacier from Lake Louise. Icefields Parkway, which is one the most scenic higways in Canada, is a 230 km scenic road running parallel to the continental divide. There are lots of scenic stops along the way, like Peyto Lake, Crawfoot glacier but the highlight is definitely the Athabasca Glacier. If you are visitng Banff or Jasper, this drive is a must.
The Glacier view lodge is on the 3rd floor of the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre, on the Icefields Parkway 1 hour south of Jasper and 2.5 hours north of Banff. You can either drive there or take the Brewster Express from Banff, Jasper or Calgary. The hotel is quite pretty by itself but the views from it are simply unparalleled. One more thing, for the hotel patrons, there's a special early morning glacier tour and the Altitude restaurant also caters specifically for them. The food is delicious there.
We are the Jajabars. Jajabar in Bengali means a nomad or a vagabond. We plug ourselves in Edmonton, Canada and once the batteries are recharged, we start again.
