You all have hopefully grown up a bit after this year old comment. Ink Black says the right thing but in an inappropriate way in respect to this moving video about a great HUMAN. You people are desecrating this service, undignified and ill-informed. Last I knew there were jet black people everywhere now. Get used to it or crawl under a rock.
No one before or after, has ever come near what Donald Campbell achieved. Bravery and determination sums this British man up. Donald still holds the record for breaking both Land and Water speed records in the same year, a feat that only he has achieved. I salute you.🙏 R.I.P D.Cambell.
RIP Sir Donald. I was only a child when we lost you and i remember watching Bluebird go up in the air. Always wondered what happened to you, now you can rest on dry land. Bless you, one spirit, one hero, one champion!
i thought it was quite a fitting tribute that even donalds old nemasis bad weather didnt disappoint and showed up as a mark of respect rip d c one of the true legends
My Dad Bill Jordan would of been there that day if he was still here, he spoke with fund memories and respect of the time he spent with Donald Campbell. Much love ❣️
So many people braving the elements to give a true hero a good send off, a hero from a time when great britain was a place fit for heros, with k7 rebuilt his story will live on in the hearts of future generations
A shame that this got overshadowed by previous day's 9/11 attack otherwise this would deservedly have returned Donald to front page news. A true & unique hero rip
My nan use to look after his daughter Gina when she was a child. She's about the same age as my dad. My dad met Donald about a week before the crash and he knew Leo Villa fairly well. I forget the job he did at the time but I do know he use to go in Leo's house and have breakfast with him and it was at this time he went there and Leo introduced my dad to Donald.Rest in peace Donald and Leo.
Donald Campbell had told his family that if anything happens to him, that skipper and boat remain together. And his sister wanted to keep her word to him... so hence why she didn't want him brought up or the boat.
I'm sorry I don't know the artist but this is the name of it. It's called Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46:11. The Death of Ase-III. Anitra's Dance. It's long I know but it's absolutely beautiful.
Very beautiful place. So much respect for a man who rather risked his life in pursuit of greatness than to live in mediocrity. The date is significant here as the world was reeling from the 9/11 attacks. Did Donald Campbell's belated funeral become an elegy for our lost world?
Visited Coniston today to pay my respects. DC still a British hero in 2017.
Donald epitomises what is great about this country , bravery , character , pioneering spirit !
Visited Coniston today RIP a one off

Yes that's correct this is why there was probably a lack of media coverage on it. Many thanks for your comments.

This is so sad I love sailing and swallows and amazons please let him and Arthur ransome rest in peace for all eternity
God bless bill smith for making this happen. Shame on Gina for how she treated him and the team who brought the skipper home.
British Hero, R.I.P.
His sister jean wales said "skipper and boat stay together" she did not attended the funeral.
????????
Donald Campbell had told his family that if anything happens to him, that skipper and boat remain together. And his sister wanted to keep her word to him... so hence why she didn't want him brought up or the boat.
Love will always come true 😖😖😖😭😭😭😢😢😢
Pretty sure his daughter didn't want him brought up, should've let him and the family rest where he was. All for someone else's ego.
It was his sister.
Grande, grande, grande!
R I P Sir Donald Campbell !
Rest in peace Donald. ♡

Donald’s funeral service was overshadowed by the 9/11 attacks nonetheless he was a brave man and record breaker who died doing what he loved. RIP.
Very sad and the music at the beginning. Anyone know the composer and title?

Captain stays with his ship was what Donald said I guess his daughter did not care about her dads wishes
Why did you even feel the need to write that?
All about the money 💰 💵 💵💵💵💯👿👍🏻
@@Doctor.Kästien.Louis.Rosenbergwhat money he was in great debt.
Well all I could hear in this poorly produced video was rain !
K7
This seems so wrong, filming this... it feels exploitative.
Linda T What a dumb comment!!
Eh? It’s a funeral !
A Captain / Skipper stays with his boat 🛥 💯 . This was about greed and money by the daughter and wife 💵💵💵💰💰💰💰💵💵💵💵💰💰💰💵💵💵💯👿
Why they leave, him down in the water, for so long ??...
