First, thank you for your service. Second, my wife bought me a Blackstone griddle for an early Christmas present. I took your recommendations for many of the must have accessories you listed in your other video. Thanks for listing them! Finally, I love the content you and your wife put out on using the griddle. Keep up the great work. I look forward to the other meals you create cooks you do!
You should probably do both, but I’m honestly here primarily for the flat top videos. And, if you ditch the butter on this one and use Crisco instead, you’re covered!
Hi Neal, I'm a long time youtube creator (I cook a bunch and fish some) My cooking passion has always been barbecue and grilling in all its forms. I also do a lot of inside cooking. Until recently if I wanted some smash burgers or some good blackened catfish I was putting a grilling plate on one of my many grills. However I finally took the plunge and Santa brought me a Blackstone 36 and I'm loving it. I am also a Navy vet but I was an HT. I've been watching your videos for over a week straight and have joined your FB group. I'm really starting to get behind this flat top cooking. I appreciate all of your content. You and Miss Amy are a joy to watch. Keep up the good work my friend. 😎
Hey thats awesome Mike....obviously Thank you for your service...we have a lot in common...before the griddle life I was the same way. Grilling and bbq...even earlier videos show the change....and I absolutely love fishing...we do it quite often...what parts ya from

Hi the Wyoming Army guy here and I really enjoyed this video. Your take on the the Monte Crispo, Crico, CRISTO that's it was awesome. I'm definitely going to do that one of these days, it looks so good. I'm new to flat top grilling and that is why I use your expertise. However if your heart is in smoking and BBQ I say mix it up, combine the two. I'd love to see your take on a smoked brisket grilled cheese sandwich or pulled pork. My better half and I put together some Chili that had left over slow smoked brisket in it OOOOOH that was awesome!!! So ya I'd like to see you mix it up a bit. Keep them videos coming ✌

Well I guess I'm going to have to do a little more research before I let my fingers write a reply 🙃. Anyway I'd like to see a combination of flat top & BBQ ideas, I'm just happy when cooking outside!!!
It's ok just keep cooking I'll keep watching ! I started to watch for the griddle hints because I just bought a new 4 burner Nexgrill I just started to assemble it
Great to see another video Charcoal King - looks like an awesome meal. Regarding content, I recommend you do what you do. Flattop, grill, smoker, camp fire, stove, oven, crockpot, etc.; your call as you are the chef. I must admit that I do see the twinkle in your eyes when cooking on the flattop - brings back those navy days Shipmate. Thanks for the fantastic recipes.
I say both. Because you can always start on the grill/smoker and finish on the flat top or take leftovers from your grill meal and create another meal on the flattop. The best of both worlds!!!
Fyi when I do these I put some pots within pots on top for weight, seems to help cook/heat the center more. At Perkins the cooks had heavy steel plates that did the same. Just a suggestion, looks super tasty the way you do it!
The griddle is more versatile and it does require some tips & tricks. I don’t know how many people use a charcoal grill every day. It’s nice to see an entire meal in the time it takes to make 1 video.
I’m a griller too. Use my gravity 980 all the time. Adding the flat iron and watching your videos to prepare myself. From your question, what do y’all want? thinking about some of your past comments, just add things to expand. My mind is already going to using both at same time. How say you?
Well you ain't wrong. Alot has changed by now and we are rocking and rolling on the griddle idea...just crazy how much support..as far as the combination that is coming for sure...especially during the winter months
Speaking of grilled cheese try my personal favorite. Do sourdough bread, mozzarella cheese and add frosted flakes on the inside. Sweet and savory and sooo good.
I discovered your channel when researching the FTG600, so I understand the flattop bias, but I'd still vote for you to mix it up, both charcoal and flattop. Then there are times when the two can work together. For example; do a smoked butt on the Summit and then use any leftovers to make a form of carnitas on the flattop. Since you're monetizing now you'll have to decide whether to make that one episode or two (I'd say two with a promo pitch to lead into the second one) for viewer interest, but with your creativity you could find lots to tie the two together.
Daggummit Bob i just explained to Amy to make a smoked pork butt and then make carnitas on the flattop. Also i have a new video coming out that gives u a shoutout. 🤣 I still messed it up.

I'm thinking that I would have made that 2nd batch with the focaccia bread with the cut sides out and laid the meats & cheese on the spiced sides so that the cut sides with all those nooks and crannies would make contact with the griddle.
I think its more about the common technique then the actual finished product... Italian meats with Marinara dipped in an egg wash and dredged in parmesan...
