The guy who Northern Lion ran into at 32:03 is Cinnamonique who is a great Geoguessr streamer, he is insane at it and he always very clearly explains his thought processes. He does chat interactive Geoguessr pretty much every day I have a feeling he was multiboxing while playing that day (doing 8 simultaneous games)
Im sorry Northernlion. I didnt see I was playing against you. I was indeed trying 8 duels at the same time, and it was a bit too much now and then, so I timed out on some of the guesses. 😃. Im down for a rematch someday 🙂
23:37 Egmondvej and Goudavej directly reference two cities in The Netherlands (Egmond and Gouda). That and the fact that everything looks at least Dutch-passing makes that spot pretty cursed.
Interestingly, neither Czechia nor Slovakia have these. We have a rectangle with the red stripe, but always with the city name. Never with an image of a city.
@12:21 you will only ever find that kind of mosaic in spain, mostly eastern spain. If you see Spanish with "x" and cedillas, it's probably Valencian or Catalonian, so that's also a sign.
Green shutters + beige cobblestone houses also means you're probably in Mallorca. That's just based on having lived in Mallorca, the vast majority of houses have green shutters
A simple tip is that if the electricity/phone (idk what they are) poles have a vertical black and yellow stripe pattern it's usually Japan and if the pattern is diagonal, it's usually Taiwan. From my experience anyway.
@11:30 unironically, this is my second "i've eaten at that mcdonalds" moment. I mean, the first one was an actual "I've eaten at that McDonalds on the Newtownards Road", but wow. He's right. Europeans have a huge advantage (we go outside)
It was the one right after for me. I always guess along with him and I was like "ok it's definitely Spain, that mosaic means it's Catalonia, could be Mallorca, wait... I've eaten at that café!"
For the puerto rico guess, I saw that the truck said "USDOT" which is the United States Department of Transportation. That mixed with the spanish will tell you when it's Puerto Rico.
2:43 "I think we're in the Southern hemisphere" The green semi you were just looking at has "USDOT" on it. United States Department of Transportation...JFC

So I just found out today that Bulgaria is apparently not the only European country that has winter coverage and both Czechia and Slovakia have it too.
NL needs to refresh himself on EU plates, Irelands plates have dashes in between letters and numbers. And their plates are white. You’d have gotten the Ireland round where you thought it was Belgium if you’d known how the plate looked.
Vej (pronounced vey) means way in danish (: Norway it’s vei and Sweden is sätt (set) that’s why it looks German and Nordic at the same time, and ø is Norwegian, Danish, Faroese and Southern Sámi (aka southern Finland)
What do you expect from someone who’s told the definition of a word and he’s condescendingly like “I’m not trying to learn the language” even though learning is important but especially in stuff like geoguessr
Maybe someday NL will learn to take a few seconds (when he isn't on the timer, of course) and place his marker on cities when in an urban area and out of cities when in rural areas rather than just randomly putting his marker down. Nah. Who'm I kidding? edit @51:45 - Sees a 416 area code, guesses Australia... SMH, as the kids say.
Putting the marker in an urban area just because you're in an urban area isnt necessarily the best strategy. If you don't know which city you're in, it's probably better to put the marker somewhere central, even if that's in a rural area, because then you closer to all the cities around
I'm french and i gotta say, every single time he guesses south of france i'm severely dammaged. Terrible idea of what south of france looks like. France is set on an isthmus between a hot see and a cold ocean, it means that south east coast is hot and dry while north is a lot colder and wet and then west coast is fresh and green. Looking at a greenish sight and guessing on a dry a rough spot is actually pretty inaccurate to me. It should be time to register that info cause it's a very reccuring mistake now ^^'.
One thing I hate is that everyone always tries to say that Poland is literally like 2 houses from 500 years ago and that's it. Seriously learn shit before speaking.
Someone tells you the meaning of a word and you’re like “I’m not trying to learn to speak danish” your americanness is showing. No one said you’re trying to learn but it’s increasingly bad to be reticent to learning, especially in a game where learning helps you… it’s ridiculous lol
