"a high degree of buddhism which narrows it down to just about the whole area of South-East Asia and also beverly hills" LMAO 38:55
“When that second delirium tremens hits the well traveled European crowd” fucking sent me
Extremely specific yet totally relatable at the same time
I was completely shocked at 3:40, that was 100% an Italian car. The unluckiness of having it appear in a different country is incredible
Well, it DID say movers for europe, really unlucky
Especially in Eastern Europe is common to buy second hand vans from other countries, you can see a lot of foreign branded vans in Romania too. People just use them and don't bother removing the stickers from them.
Celery stick in one hand, cup of OJ in the other, it's time to fucking game.
lets go gamers
I didn't know they would let you watch NL at snack time in preschool
@@voxtopass sorry sweaty, you wouldn’t get it
@@graystone2802 oh you think I'm not a zach simp myself huh
Awesome zach reference
Yellow plates are only on the back of vehicles in the UK, so you can use that to rule the UK out of the UK/Netherlands/Luxemburg rounds if you can't find languages
Also UK drives on left lol
Also Geoguessr hates the UK and it’s always France
The US can have yellow as well it’s a license permit
Australia has yellow plates too
NL, tips on how to differentiate countries in Central Europe based on text:
- Poland - Besides the ł (crossed L) that you already know, the only Slavic language where W is common.
- Czechia - Ř (R + v) that you already know. There's also Ě (E + v).
- Slovakia - Ľ (L + ' , 18:00), Ä (A + two-dots), Ô (O + upside-down v). All are relatively rare though, so if you've seen enough text that has 'v' accent over consonants but nothing from the other countries, it's probably Slovakia.
- Hungary - Not Slavic, they have accents only above vowels but not consonants (as Slavic languages do).
- Croatia - J is quite common, especially as consonant-J-vowel (23:49, 1:01:52). The same applies to Slovenia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina (I don't know how to differentiate those).
- Romania - Â (A + upside-down v), not Slavic.
The rest of Slavic languages use cyrillic.
good intel but serbian is an exception to the last part, its digraphic :-) its one of the only places that uses both cyrillic & latin, so it shouldnt be immediately ignored as a guess if you see latin
forgot that slovenia doesnt use soft ć and only uses hard č. Half of bosnia uses cyrillic but I've never personally seen bosnia in geoguessr.
Romanian isn't a slavic language.
bosnia isnt on geoguesser. Serbia uses both cyrillic and latin.
Great intel, maybe post this on his subreddit :)
Just as I sit down to eat my meal and I see that NL uploaded a new geoguessr duel video, couldn't be better timing
enjoy your meal confused gecko :)
So true
Yo me too bon apetite
It's the little things that make ones day better
Καλή όρεξη φιλε:) Guess the language too
I can’t believe you instantly hit us with a “Bo’s in the house”. That’s some legendary RUclips lore
I thought playing GeoGuessr would be a great way to learn about the world's diverse peoples, cultures, languages, and geography. What it's actually taught me is that Mongolia has a luggage rack.
And the sky is stitched together in Senegal
"3 billion people speak Spanish and none of them are me" love it
“How is that fair”
so good
23:27 (top left of map): Welcome to Sechs Haus!
44:30 this was the dumbest, best guess/explanation I've ever seen from the egg. I love it
Houses in south america look unfinished because people tend to be really poor and families tend to be big, so if the house is livable enough (proper roof, doors and windows) it's unlikely it will see further investiment unless it's expanding to house a new family member or tenant. Aesthetics tend to be left aside.
Geo duels gotta be my new favourite series
I agree
Many people are saying this
10:30 a guy on a HEALING round that's at full health doesn't instantly pick a random spot...
gentleman
Tips for yellow license plates:
-If you're in Europe and the cars have yellow license plates on the front and back you're in either the Netherlands or Luxembourg.
-If the yellow plate is on the back only it's the UK
-If you feel you are in South America and the cars have yellow plates on the back it's Colombia.
-If you're in the middle east and there are yellow plates on the back it's Israel.
In case anyone wanted to know the answer to "Why are the houses not done?". In some countries houses are a family thing where all generations live together. When the next generation of the family gets married and want to move out they instead move into the "unfinished" floor. This can often be seen in places like rural italy.
Thank you.
seeing "hazi burger" at 47:13 reminded me of something i saw yesterday in mexico, it was a restaurant called "hamburguesas de Voldi" with a sign in harry potter font and an amateur cartoon rendering of lord voldemort eating a burger.
and then there was the time in guatemala where i saw a building attached to a military industrial plant that just had the word CUM on it in huge blue letters
That happens in brasil all the time too there's places by me called Pastéis do Pikachu, Salgados Peter Griffin e Lisadog (Lisa Simpson)
America (double yellow line down the middle with two white lines indicating the shoulder) with 'buddhism' is Malaysia
I literally eat a bretzel for breakfast in the mall 16:20 like 12 years ago holy shit
9:00 in latinoamerica we have what is normaly called villa or favela (in Brazil) normaly they are like that due to how poor familis are there
I was thinking how that Austria guess looks familiar but couldn't recall if I had actually been exactly there or in a city with the same aesthetics. NL said tell him we've eaten at that McDonald's. I have actually eaten at that McDonald's 😅
same!! i grew up in that city haha

@@juulkaktus6742 hahaha
that little red house thing at 39 mins is a chinese household shrine, very particular to malaysia.
if you see many palm trees in a neat row, its most likely Malaysia. those are palm oil trees
A Sunday treat is super neat to watch and things of this nature.
The day that NL realises we have white front plates and yellow on the rear in the UK, the better.
Oof that pole with the emoji on it in Hungary was spicy af
I hope we will see the return of Geo ft NL and Sinny V one day
Guatemala has 4 bars sticking out with 2 windows on it. Uganda and Bangladesh also just have 2 windows. Ukraine sometimes has a red cars. Sri Lanka will also sometimes have cars that are red/white/blue mix I think. Also, Japan and Switzerland have low cam. Doubt you’ll read this, but oh well
The egg just got a street im in on a weekly basis lol
I wish this was as fun to play as it was to watch. The number of cheaters is absolutely out of control
This series is uncut copium and i love it
''straat'' is just dutch for street
NL really needs to start guessing when he gets a good clue instead of just aimlessly moving down the road while talking to chat after having figured out the country. The only way staying in the round is smart is if you get into the map and look, but NL doesn't do that
"You control your own destiny, until the door closes"- Ryan Letourneau
I like how NL is trying not to be offensive about the unfinished houses. He doesn't have to worry they don't have internet
I think NL spent the entire video warming up, 1 away from platinum too 😢
I enjoy this series. I’m using you to get my teen smarter on Geography.
Honestly, I’ve seen more Japan than she has, but I got to be a tourist before working in Tokyo. She’s a retired office lady from Kyushu who is smart enough to run a corporation.
I’ll try to catch you on Twitch but don’t know your schedule.
I’ve a old high school chum who has been all over Africa for Care, Peace Corps, & IRC.
Is... your teen... a retired office lady from Kyushu?
@@finnt9041 Wifey is. Teen is in High School.
8:06 Comedic timing, WTF is happening in that neighborhood, you can see a swastika at 8:11 in an electricity pole right side.
Edit: Of course it's Argentina...
13:55 I've eaten at that McDonald's... as in that's 5 minutes from where I live. the day has finally come.
36:40 noone cares if you call Czechia the Czech Republic. Both are an official name if I recall correctly, Czechia is just used more often now because its shorter.
Yes, NL in south america houses are very unfinished by choice. It makes it easier for ppl to buy because its so cheap. The people must put in their own flooring, doors, lights, etc
I had the 21:47 one not too long ago. Didn't know the exact island now that I saw it again, but knew it was in that area.
Im glad this has become my weekend routine at work
You should learn South American cars, this is one of the things that made me go from 750 to 950 rating, It's so useful
It has always been called The Czech Republic. It got changed to Czechia only recently (about 2-3 years ago I think), but as far as I know, Czechs don't call it Czechia (apart from official government documents).
The official name si Czech republic and goverment document have “Česká republika - Czech republic” on them. Its just that google renamed it on their maps to Czechia because people called it that more often than the official name
30:40 my man sees so 5 people where the most Slavic outfits to ever exist and goes Mongolia
That finland guess was insane!
I'm a simple subscriber - if the new video pops up 10 second after I finish your last one, I post
This is so painful him ignoring every road sign and just endlessly clicking down roads like stop and look around and read for the love of god
Someone needs to tell NL that Laos and Northern Vietnam have no Google Street Views. A couple of user posted 360's, but that's about it.
NL was almost 17 thousand km's closer at 25:00 and the other dude only lost 1800 points on a 1.5x damage round
Next round NL is a thousand km's further away and lost 3300 points on a 2x damage round
Wut
Even though NL was much closer he still didn’t get many points for the guess so he didn’t too too much damage
The way the points are scaled, the closer you are the more small differences matter
As OwenPG said, the points scale exponentially the closer you get. It doesn't really make sense to reward a player for making a bad guess that just so happens to be closer than your opponents even worse guess.
That is because the damage dealt is the difference in points. NL was pretty far away himself in this example so he didn't earn that many points, therefore the damage wasn't much.
"Ulica" is also a word in Polish and it also means "street", although in Poland we usually shorten it to "ul.". I think this same word appears in Slovenian and Slovakian languages too. What I'm getting at it "ulica" does not mean you're in Croatia but it should mean you're in one of these four countries - Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland (although there could be a fifth I don't know about).
Serbia, Bosnia. Just generally East Europe
8:12 there is definitely a Swastikas painted on that sign.
Thought GeoGuesser had stopped. Let's go!
Is this man saying "Melbourne, that's not Melbourne, Melbourne has 11 million people" the same man that will refuse to look at the map and just pick a random place near the capital of every country in this game?
An hour of geogussr? the pogs are massive
"Please dont i have points on the line"
"Double aa usually means Netherlands, when you know you're in the Netherlands or Belgium" is not right, because the languages are the same for all intents and purposes. Unless it's French, the language isn't gonna tell you shit. Double aa is more likely to differentiate between Denmark and the Netherlands, but still, Denmark will use aa instead of å in some cases, like URLs.
Geoguessr is here, the day is complete
I know a lot of times the houses are unfinished because the family earns the money as its being built. So technically they don't have enough money to finish it at that moment
that was something I saw pretty frequently when I lived in Argentina
When I was visiting my family in Mexico, my aunts house had a part where the was no roof
Someone needs to tell NL that in order to not mistakenly guess Romania, to count the consonants, there are almost 0 words that have 4 or more consonants consecutively.
In general, if you see Cyrillic text but the place looks like Africa during an economic crisis, it's Bulgaria.
Rooiberg Breederivier
literally means
RedMountain WideRiver
in Afrikaans
genius naming skills
We have rotarys (roundabouts) everywhere in Massachusetts.
AFAIK in some countries you don't pay your taxes if the houses are not done, so the houses are just never done on purpose. Might be wrong though, I read that a long time ago about Egypt I think.
round 3 of the first game is about 300 m from where i live ;d was crazy to see it
3:26 *BRAIN DEAD* actually thought he said "about" in Canadian accent
NL is spot on when it come to Madea. They are exploitation movies and Tyler Perry understands his audience; the quick resolution is all they need to be satisfied. They are what Spike Lee would call a "joint", which is defined as a movie that is made to profit off a certain demographic and doesn't strive to be "good" or "artistic".
Btw ulica also means street in polish
Incredible island guess!
holy shit I lived in one of the houses that came up in Andorra
Serbia is not Cyrillic, it is both at the same time, only one such country in the world
I feel like there was just a complete lack of dial in this one.
43:57 We built different
Geoguessr respector has logged on
hey, have you gone to that croatian restaurant on ulica street? LMFAO
Couldn't be more wrong about the wa having no trees comment
Hellemaa … The -maa ending means "-land" in Estonian.
I swear to god in a previous video he said Hungary was green on top but now it’s the bottom I’m tripping
If there are roundabouts and it's North America you are 100% in Carmel, Indiana
Isn’t “ulica” the word for street in many languages around there tho? I know in Serbian it is but written in cyrillic
Yes. Its similar in Slavic languages - in some of them it is ulica, in Czech it is ulice.
My city (Boise) has roundabouts and somehow people use them successfully.
Ulica or улица is “street”. P.s. duel is great content!
Beau is in the house!!!!!
“Will NL win this duel?” *immediately throws* 😂
Hehe, head go squeak squeak
ulica = street in a lot of different Slavic languages
he still thinks the next rank is platinum pepeLaugh
15:02 Another European what?
Caught in 4K
i miss the nlss so much😪
Platty plays!
No bc i lost my shit at the austrian/linz round, cause he literally went past the mall where i used to eat lunch almost every school day?? haha amazing
so i guess you could say i've LITERALLY eaten at that mc donalds lmaooo
Josh Gad
ulica-street
who exactly did NL confuse for josh gad in the new fantastic beasts....?
he said the actor from balls of fury so probably dan fogler
What meta post is he talking about?
Why is there a sign that says "Will George Soros attack again?" in Hungary? 47:21
If you are genuinely interested, I can give you a detailed answer, but in short: political boogeyman balderdash basically.
That makes sense lol. I am genuinely curious though if you feel like explaining more
NL North America has tons of roundabouts. What're you even talking about?
Europe has 14 times more roundabouts per capita
@@axelnils Cool fun fact. Still a ton of roundabouts in NA and NL was referencing Australia/New Zealand compared to NA not Europe.
Nice 👍🏻 thank you
