- After two years of doing not much, I'm back with a thrilling new adventure. Having not visited Tasmania on my around Australia trip in 2022, I've decided to make a special trip to take a look and I've also brought along my old mate John on his enormous BMW. Will he make it? Will I make it? Will the BMW make it? Watch and find out.
Thanks for taking us on your trip, like the dry sense of humour.
Happy to have you onboard.
Love the motel reviews 😂 👍
Beautiful footage as always. Looking forward to the next episode.
Thanks very much. More coming soon.
Beautiful countryside….really well put together video….enjoyed the subtle jokes…..thanks for sharing…..I am heading back to Tassie in December, only a 28 hour journey from my island of Jersey…..but so worth it…love Australia
Jersey looks like a fascinating place to visit, just spent five minutes exploring on google maps! Good to hear you find my jokes subtle and enjoy Tassie, it really is a fantastic place.
Its nice to listen to someone who is fluent in english and sarcasm. cheers from california.
Is sarcasm in short supply over there? Love California by the way.
Wow amazed to see the road though Cabramurra is now open again! It had been closed for about 4 or 5 years! We tried going through there a year ago and it was still closed. Love the humour, and the alternative road route. As an ex Tassie boy and lived in all 4 eastern states including North Queensland very interested in this trip! 😎
Pleased to hear your enjoying the videos. Its my first time over the NSW highlands (not my last that's for sure) but I imagine the roads cop a fair but of flack from the weather up there.
This is great. We live in Hobart and rode the mighty Triumph bike up to Tamworth a couple years ago (2022). The NSW roads were sht and it rained 10 days out of 14 from leaving the ferry in Port Melbourne lol. Nearly got totalled in a Canberra thunderstorm but we made it. I'll never complain about Tassie weather again. Gulgong was our favourite town in Vic/NSW.
@@shegocrazy You can plan as much as you like but the weather is always in charge! Gulgong is a cool little town isn’t it.
@@abitofadetour7315 True that. I'm thinking of another big island trip to Armidale next autumn and might look closer at your route as it seems to use some alternative roads to what I used for Tamworth. Cheers!
@@shegocrazy The detour through Hill End is an excellent diversion and it’s a very interesting place to visit as well.
Wathcing from Norway. Nice to see You again. Keep posting vids!
Norway is my list of places to one day visit, it's an extraordinarily beautiful country. Thanks for watching!
Great video, we ride around the Snowy Mountains a couple of times a year 38° last time in Cabramurra. Waiting for part 2
Hard to imagine 38 degrees that high up but that’s Australia for you.
Great to see you back. Really looking forward to the series.
Great to see you back on the road love your show
Its good to be back!
Great landscape!👍 Wish l could make such a tour there. Regards of a Crosstourer rider from Europe, Hungary.😊
@@helenatyukodi5227 And the same to you in reverse. I’d love to visit Hungary one day, it’s definitely on my list.
G'day Mate, glad to see you back on the road again, just not long completed a trip with myself and two mates from Perth to Broken Hill down through the NSW and Victorian high country, the bottom of Victoria and South Australia and back home. Thanks to your round oz Video last year we discovered the ferry form Wallarro to Lucky Bay so cheers. Hope you've had a good one in Tassie, will probably get over there with the wife next year.
Sounds like a fantastic trip. The Spencer Gulf ferry was a surprise to me as well, I saw a flyer on the wall of a cafe the morning I took it!
New subscriber. I'm keen to see the journey. We did the lap of tassie in February. Me on the GTL1600 my mate on a VTR 1000. Im planning NSW/Vic highlands next Feb. Love the dry humor.
Welcome aboard Russel. You’ve been and done it, so there won’t be much new stuff for you scenery wise so I’ll try and make up for it with as much dry humour as I can shoehorn in!
First time I have watched, I really enjoyed the vid and look forward to the next episode. Love Tassie. Subbed.
Welcome aboard sir. Feel free to browse my back catalogue! (That’s not a euphemism)
Loved it
@@maccas44 Excellent. That’s the reaction I was looking for!
Great content and nice camera work. Those NSW back country roads looked fantastic 👍
Outstanding! Thanks for sharing.
Thoroughly enjoying following your adventures. Thanks for sharing.
Good to see back , really like your style mate 👍
Thoroughly enjoy your current and previous videos. A fine dialogue incorporating travel and tongue in cheek together with great camera skills gives excellent and inspiring viewing.
Thanks for the kind words, much more of this and I’ll need a bigger helmet!
Great video look forward to more, the pics on instagram were great
Another entertaining ride through the wilds of this big brown land. I wouldn't have believed a Sigma Scorpion is still on the road if you hadn't ridden to Kyogle and recorded it as proof. Marvelous
Gav, I thought exactly the same thing. I haven’t seen a brown interior like that in many a long year.
Great to see you back on the road. Love your humour and tassie is an amazing place. 14 trips and counting for my family. Last time i had my 3 year old daughter in the sidecar of a Ural and my wife on a spyder. My daughter loves the bike. Cheers mate
Tassie is an amazing place. Can’t wait to go back.
Enjoyed your dry sense of humour and the ride 👍👍
Your a better man than me taking the Ducati on sand tracks in the middle on NT on road tyres! Glad your liking the videos.
Have been missing that dry wit of yours.....Glad you are back in the saddle and hope all the modifications you made have made the journey more plesant. Welcome back and cheers
Thanks. The new suspension certainly payed for itself!
It’s so great to see you back and producing more content. Loved your navigational videos of Australia and admired your drive to push through alone early on in the trip. Looking forward to following your lap of Tassie 👍
It good to have you along for the ride.
I was, indeed, thrilled -- I loved the Ben Chifley room review 😉Tasmania looks like a place well-worth a visit. Thanks for taking the time to entertain us.
I’m pleased to hear you were entertained! I must admit I quite enjoy reviewing motel rooms. If only I could make it a paying profession.
Good to have you back posting mate. Looking forward to the series! Stay upright 🙂
Thanks very much. I’ve got a few more episodes from this Tassie trip and I’ve already ‘filmed’ a two day ride that might make it to RUclips.
I really enjoy your travelogues. Thanks for the effort you put into them.👌
Its good to know you like them. It is a lot of effort but I was going to make them anyway for my family to see what I get up to when I disappear for weeks or months at a time so I may as well throw them up on RUclips and let everybody have a look.
Fantastic videos and love the content, looking forward to the next episode, keep up the great work and travel safe.
You'll be pleased to know I'm in front of the trusty computer now hard at work (sort of) making episode 2.
Yay, glad to see you are back
Thanks. It’s good to be back, more coming soon.
Great to see you back. I well and truly enjoyed "the lap". The scenery and commentary absolutely made it, so I am looking forward to more of the same on this trip, and, no doubt, better!
Happy to hear you enjoyed the last series and I reckon you'll get a chuckle out of this new one too.
Another start to a great trip, still haven't got over your thing about "big things" I see. Loved the trout, may man more be found.
It seems like a peculiarly Australian trait to make large roadside objects from concrete and fibreglass. It would be churlish of me not to stop and enjoy their magnificence.
Hey great to see youre finally on the road again! Hope this one doesnt end up a solo trip 🙂 great scenery coming down. Enjoy Tassie, cheers Cheryl
I won’t let the cat out the bag just yet but keep watching.
I'm thinking of doing Tassie this summer..
Good timing with your video..
Like your style!
Thanks for watching, you’ll love Tassie, it’s a fantastic place and I’m always superbly how few ‘main landers’ have been.
Enjoy your lap of Tassie gents. Hope you brought your warm riding as it was 0 here this morning :)
We did indeed, but the lowest we struck was 4. However, we are both reformed Victorians so are no strangers to the cold!
What! No mention of those gorgeous Guzzi’s at 14:48 ?!
Three generations of Italian magnificence!
And ya off again! Lots more dry humour please 😄
Fear not. There is dryness aplenty.
First of all good luck with your trip. I hope that you are enjoying your massive investment on your new suspension and
Is working to your satisfaction
I'm enjoying your sense of humor already . Did you pack a toe rope for the B.M.W 😅😅
Funny you mention the tow rope…
And yes, the suspension worked an absolute treat.
@@abitofadetour7315 glad to hear it
Now now, no need to be … , well, what can I say? Stay tuned… “John” on the BM.
What drone are you using? Great aerial shots.
@@shegocrazy I’m using my trusty DJI Air2S. It’s racked up some serious air time now, a lot of it over water and it always comes back (so far).
@@abitofadetour7315 Sweet. I got a mini pro 4 recently for some OS travel as it's so small. I'd like the air but too many hurdles to leap to fly it legally overseas.
@@shegocrazy Yep, the Minis are great. I did look at the Mini 4 but kept the Air 2s for its better high wind performance. If I go overseas I’ll no doubt use that as an excuse to buy a Mini of some description!
If memory serves me well Gulgong was pictured on the back of the paper $10 note in the good ol' days, when you could literally burn money...
I had a look and you are 100% correct.
@@abitofadetour7315 ha! Ergo the “Ten Dollar Hotel”
This just dated the last time I was in Gulgong 😂
@@bearcatracing007 Were you spending paper money?
@abitofadetour7315 yes and I remember a big sign on the way into town stating 'The town on the $10 note'
How long till next video.
Good question. It’s turning into an epic! Current projection is for early next week. I had hoped for today but that’s just not happening.
