Yeah. It funnels you towards some pretty extreme stuff. Usually fairly right wing. I find old guns interesting so I watch Forgotten Weapons. I just want to see a pleasant nerd explain how the unusual folding stock works. Next thing it’s wall to wall militias and prepper lunacy.
These people were laughing. I lived that lifestyle. Many of us had nowhere to go, others were ex Vietnam vets. Others wanted to go back to the land and embrace nature because we knew what humans were doing. We also knew about climate change and overpopulation back then. We also knew about pollution. Many of us are still around and still have the same views. But this was incredibly funny.

Living in a small town makes anything even remotely "countercultur-y" blend together, there's not much else going on so we go to each other's events and gatherings. I like it a lot, personally, it's a mess lol

there wasn't ever anything far right about 99% of those conspiracies. Lot of people mix up actual conspiracies with tabloid tier bullshit. I guess nowadays you'd just call them memes, chemtrails, holograms, aliens, flat earth, all just a bunch of hogwash people probably do for fun. The anti-vaxx thing is an actual conspiracy yes but the level to which it was taken was pretty ridiculous, the whole everyone who takes it is gunna be dead in 3 months, "it's like stan's number", basically the whole anon tier takes on it were no different form the rest of the tabloid stuff. And yes most of the people over 40 who bit after all this stuff were or still are hippies the irony is not lost

Ahaha I actually found thee new age movement through both modern prog metalcore music and conspiracy theories. There's some great value life tips to be found, like meditation but the real best teachings are that which you can find from anyone and that is to be the start of the domino effect. Help yourself become what you wish to be and you will hopefully teach those around you along the way. Although, I've had many friends move away from their families that didn't help them or appreciate them in the end and then they actually achieved all their goals. The world is in a process of great change IMO and so who knows where we might end up, maybe it is all connected. Before change can occur, one must first believe in it, otherwise they will do nothing to alter their path.
