Actually it makes sense with 4ws to flip the over drive. Because you shoot out the rear and drag the front similar to a reverse dig.. It makes a huge difference in 2ws, cause the front end is pulling in the direction you want.. while dragging the rear. Thanks for the video peace out
It makes sense that the OD front pushes the UD rear into a tigher turn in reverse, and that in forward on concrete the excessive traction of the KLRs would cause the two axles to fight one another as they pull/drag with all that lateral bite. On a softer dirt course you'll see the benefits of the setup but for your home track, definitely only need one or the other.
That climb at 5:30 was well impressive, the rest of video😉, and I do not even have a climbing rc, real good video actually had me watch the whole lot, 💥👍🏿💥
Been away from the crawler scene for a bit and just catching up on your videos. It's always impressive how you think your videos through ahead of time. Great job as always! I'm going to buy a set of underdrive gears for my Bronco, I had been waiting for awhile for them to come back in stock. With Fall/Winter fast approaching, my nitros will go into hibernation and it will be all crawlers for months.
Thanks for this video as always! Interested to see how od works on Optimus 2. Better turn radius in reverse totally makes sense esp if your front track is wider...
Over/underdrive combo seemed to cause more issues for me than benefits. The truck was constantly breaking traction and wasn't working together. I pulled my underdrive out and left the overdrive in up front. Works well with and without the 4ws. Just curious have you ever ran rear steer on a linear switch separate from the front? Huge benefits to being able to put the rear end exactly where you need it versus either under or over shooting lines. Great vid.
Like the info...Thank you. The question I have is random. I notice that you have all your RC'S on jack stands. Why is that? Looks? Or to keep your wheels from developing a flat spot from sitting too long?
Say if I wanted my trx6 to be much slower so that way I can climb a 70%+ inclimb would putting under drive gears in all three axles be much better? I want to have a super super super slow crawl ratio
You should do a video with Grimlock with the stock gears up front and the under Drive in the rear and do the same climb that you did in this video and compare. Then do the same with the Optimus truck using the same tires on both trucks so you get a legit side by side comparison.
I have an OD video in the works for Optimus but just haven't had the time to get it done, now this weekend its looking like hurricane Dorian is going to get us.
@@ExocagedRC sorry about Dorian. I've been keeping an eye on it as well. I live in Fort Lauderdale. I have friends that live in Orange Park, and they're not happy either.
Would you mind informing me what 1.9 beadlock wheel would you recommend for easy fitment of a set of Hyrax ? I have difficulty mounting them on rc4wd five lug steel wheels , I’ve ordered a set of RC4WD Proline steel rings to make this easier , but id like to know what your opinion is on the easiest beadlock to work with ? Great Channel hope you get to 30k soon 🏃🏻♂️
You are the king of coming up with performance ideas. Very interesting video! Thanks.
RC's RC Cars LoL thank you.

I under drive the rear only on my X4. Seems to work the best for me. Great job!

Great video and info, thanks for sharing.
I have the overdrive front only in my trx4, front steer only. Not impressed either, maybe I’ll buy the underdrive rear. Thanks for sharing

You had me at 4WS..!! 😍😍😍
AMAZING RC LoL
Works really nice!
Where to buy the OD and UD for Traxxas TRX 4 Defender? Can you give me the link. Thanks
Keep us posted.

tibbed9209 both are coming out of this truck but I’ll try just the OD in the Optimus 2 comp truck. Maybe put the UD in the other “sport” trx.

Both, they look good and the flat spots, sometimes they will sit for months before use and this keeps them round.
Awesome!
Nice honest review bro!
Thank you
Double under drive would be cool
Hate on Nate 809 it would just make it slower.
I can't find underdrive gears anywhere, been looking for a while
Try amain i did them in last truck i wasnt impressed with the money i spent
I got these directly from Traxxas on a recent shipment, I would have hoped they would have made it to the stores by now but I guess not.

@@NikkiNexo777 yeah I'm 20 minutes out of Orange Park
@@ExocagedRC I'm familiar with the area. We go up to visit our friends from time to time to get away. Will be praying for minimal damage.
Just put overdrive in my trx4 and it seems to climb better

👍👍✔.NC MOUNTAINS ❤
Over/under drive is more for dirt. Running on cement is not recommended.
Yeah its just too much for my driving style
'
better rather front wheel is a steering...
rear wheel is a axle lock straight and no steering...
less problem / less repair
Anyone know the parts i need for a rws on my trx4?
I wasn't impressed😃
