Doc, you mentioned that chain is to close the gap, but I don't see any Gap in my teeth. My Dentist told me that she'll use power chain on my next appointment. I heard it's much painful than the normal braces. Huhu.
I’m a 58yr old Englishman who had braces fitted for the first time three weeks ago (on 08/11/23) and, having fairly straight teeth (deep bite was my issue but, of course, no one notices a deep bite), I just don’t think it’s worth the hassle of constantly worrying about broken brackets, not being able to chew with bite blocks and then having to get all the food out of my braces after every meal. I simply don’t enjoy food anymore so may tell my orthodontist to take them off at my first monthly appt. next week. I’ve not had any sensitivity let alone pain from my teeth (despite having a powerchain fitted to my lower teeth straightaway) at any stage but I hate the hassle!

question: whenever i open my jaw near my left ear something pushes upward and i dont know what it is, i cant push it down either its as strong as a bone but its not a bone. I've had it for i think 5 months and it hasn't got worse nor better, i dont feel pain. my doctor isn't a dentist but she said something about wisdom teeth gum overlay infection, wasn't paying much attention to it. do you know what it can be?????

Hi my friend and sometimes due to a lot of force, the elasticity may wear off and cause the chain to snap :( and sadly there is not much you can do , just getting a new chain placed everytime this happens...! a little bit of patience and it's part of the braces journey!

it really depends on your teeth condition, for my case, i've to remove all 4 premolars.😌 but there are cases where they dont have to extract any teeth at all. So lucky!
@@dhrtij3408 hmm..where are you living? Bcs im from Malaysia, so the braces here cost around RM5000. But you pay a little amount during 2 years of treatment. Just you need to pay at least RM500-RM1000 on the first appointment for xray, scalling, and bonding installation.

The first two weeks hurt a little bit, specially the first 4 days hurt like hell but after that you live like you don't have any, only when your dentist adjust them you may have a little pain the next day, the third it goes away and again you don't feel nothing
