    I have spacing in my upper arch between my 9 central incisor and 10 lateral incisor and also spacing between 7 lateral incisor and 6 cuspid while 8 central incisor, 9 central incisor and 7 lateral incisor are tightly closed. Should power chains go all the way to sixes or just mesial is okay?

    • @Straightsmilesolutions
      @Straightsmilesolutions  2 года назад

      I really can't answer that because it depends on your bite- your dentist will need to make that decision. He/she has your xrays and models to study

    I got my 4 premolars extracted and my ortho is retracting the canines back by using power chain connected from canine to 1st molar directly. He advised me to keep the tightness very less but I want it to be done faster and I tighten them by myself maybe 1 or 2 holes and then he tells me not to do so . Can you advise me ?

      Sorry this would be practicing without a license in your state your doctor sounds like a smart doctor If you try to rush things all you're going to do is damage the gums the teeth and the bone and the roots of the teeth I can't tell you how many teeth I've seen damaged by this stay the course....
      You should be coming in every few weeks maybe every 4 to 6 weeks to have your power chain changed.. If it's not more frequently you might want to consider finding a different orthodontist

    I have to have my braces on for 2 years, will I have to get power chain during my time with braces? (I have them on because of crowding)

    Are they "different levels' of power chain wher they get stronger? Not sure if you know what I mean but I got a stronger power chain.

      If you watch my other PC videos, you'll see that we only stock CLOSED chain in our office. No open or short. There's no reason to. You can just stock ONE kind in various colors and just use extra links as needed to control the force. www.youtube.com/@Straightsmilesolutions/search?query=power%20chain

    My power chain keeps snapping between adjustments I haven’t really gotten and answer as to why… helppppp I need answers

    • @Straightsmilesolutions
      @Straightsmilesolutions  2 года назад

      How long is the frequency in between adjustments? (how many weeks?) Also, are you eating a diet with a lot of acid? (lemons)? If not that, then it's old chain and they need to buy more

    I got upper and lower metal braces for the first time on 08/11/23 (as a 58 yr old Englishman) and my orthodontist put a powerchain on my lower teeth right from first fitting my braces with 14NiTi wire. Is this normal? I have not had any pressure let alone pain from my teeth (my cut up cheeks are another matter! 😀).

    • @Straightsmilesolutions
      @Straightsmilesolutions  8 месяцев назад

      IT isn't something I would do but some people do do it- it depends on what braces slot size you are in- that kind of freaks me out in 022 slot but in 018 if it were "lightly" done if the teeth were very flared and spaced to begin with maybe not that bad

    • @AlexEssex8
      @AlexEssex8 8 месяцев назад

      @@Straightsmilesolutions My teeth are not flared at all (either top or bottom) and are all relatively straight. I have minor (age related) crowding of lower incisors but the main issue is a deep bite and missing LR4 so maybe the powerchain is to help close the small gap and de-rotate my lower canines?

    • @Straightsmilesolutions
      @Straightsmilesolutions  8 месяцев назад

      I guess? Ask your doc@@AlexEssex8

    what powerchain do you recommend to maintain the spacing ? like preventing crowding

    • @Straightsmilesolutions
      @Straightsmilesolutions  Год назад

      none- that's called long tie or under tie- here's more- www.youtube.com/@Straightsmilesolutions/search?query=long%20tie
      Power chain is active- if you keep it on more than it needs to be it will rotate the terminal teeth

      It depends on your bite and the cause of the spacing (tongue thrust, bolton..etc) - if you don't know what these things mean look them up by keyword in my channel! You should go and see an orthodontist for an eval and join our FB group! facebook.com/groups/452613991914248

    • @Straightsmilesolutions
      @Straightsmilesolutions  5 месяцев назад +1

      OOOH double power chain~ I have done that but I never do it unless it's a very tough space and if there's clearance to close. That's a LOT of force!
