For some reason... I've always LOVED the art style of this show. The background looks much different than the characters themselves, which makes it better.
Oh, same! There's almost this fairy-tale look to it that contracts to the character art style and sometimes the story itself and makes it really stand out. I've started watching the reboot of Adventure 01 and while they *homage* the original background art it's so polished and clean you lose that strange, hazy almost watercolor look to the background.
I like how Digimon managed to create a fine mixture of violence, drama, action, and fantasy. You know, all the different emotions at different times. You wouldn't expect goody two shoes from Tai all the time just because he's the leader. No, he'd punch Matt or Izzi in the face if he felt like it LOL

God I cant believe how pokemon survived. The whole anime can be summed up like this: 1.Kid Goes on journey to be master 2.Gets to Big Tournament 3.Loses 4.Goes to other Region 5.gets to the tournament again 6.Loses 7. Repeat 4,5,and 6 until the end of time.

digimon is about growing up physically, emotionally and learning what friendship, love and true loyalty is. while pokemon is about being a kid stucked in his younger years and collecting friends and doing never ending researches for old professors.
Something that really gets me about Digimon is how many voice actors there must have been, or how good some were. Think about it, you had the eight main characters, then you had the eight digimon, and after that you had the three to four more voices of the evolved or devolved forms of those eight digimon. And that's just the main characters! I'm not going to go into the others, but I think you guys are getting the point.... or at least I'm hoping....

TheBerchie well almost all the voice actors performed multiple parts, some as many as 4 different characters, but yeah there were quite a large number. Its pretty amazing isn't it :)
