To hate the ways of the world, not the person who was afflicted by the world. Our saving grace is meant for all through the mercy of Christ and all glory is to the glory of GOD alone.

Today marks the 18th anniversary of 9/11/2001, and I am reminded, once again, of the pain that quickly turned to anger and vengeance. It's understandable, really, but I am struck at the stark difference between how Jesus taught us to treat our enemies, and even SHOWED us to treat our enemies, as they led Him to the cross. "I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you..." "Forgive them, for they don't know what they're doing." I can't imagine what a different world this would be if we were to really...REALLY follow the way of Jesus, rather than the way that leads to death, both figuratively, and literally. Perhaps 9/11 would never have even happened. We still have the opportunity to change our ways as a nation, turn from our anger and fear that manifests itself in war, and look into the face of our enemy, and see our brother. God help us do so.
