I am a 68 year old Vietnam vet/hippie. I have played the harmonica for some 40 years now, had my share of the blues, pain, betrayal, coming home and finding only my clothes in the closet. So I play from my heart and these girls just re-awakened my love for music, please don't think I am being rude, but the guy on the harmonica as good as he is, I just played it back and played with it I had some people tell me I was better. I have played with several bands, and these girls have blown this old away. There, I've said too much haven't said enough. I know exactly what R.E.M. means.

Just when I thought that You Tube was full of fluffy kittens, swearing parrots and idiots falling off skateboards, I click a random link and this appears on my screen. Astounding! Back in the day these lasses would have appeared on The Old Grey Whistle Test, but now we have You Tube to thank for bringing superb talent such as The Sad Sam Blues Jam to our attention. Seeing youngsters laying down great music, the like of which is from their parents' and grandparents' generation restores my faith in humanity and in modern day youth. Damn, these girls are GOOD! This band is awsome, juist came across them looking for female blues guitarists, and what do I find, this knockout group of girls and only in their twenties, Sam is without a doubt the best female bass player I have ever seen, go far and do well girls.

They do three songs. The second has one of the best intros to a rock and roll song that I've ever heard. It'll blow your mind. Sadie is great in her own right. Think she finished college just last year. Church going girl, too.
Seems to me the bass player has the moves and delivers the raw energy, Sadie does the blues-shoutin' and the killa shreddin' and Krista is the stand-and-deliver girl, she sort of has the same kind of blues stage presence Albert King projected. I love 'em all, of course and I like the harp guy they use from time to time as well, and don't forget the drummer, who's good too. When you gals coming down south?

Also, Samantha has serious, for real moves like a lithe she-cat just a prowlin"! She got dat appeal fo sho. That said PLEASE don't EVER again refer to Sadie's primal "I really MEAN IT" Solos as "shredding". That should be reserved exclusively for mindless metal scale monsters and sweep pickers. She actually makes music soul to soul and would (hopefully) never stoop to looking down her nose or spitting in your face, musically.
I wonder if Samantha ever became a writer? She said in an interview that's what she wanted to do. And I guess Sadie's still trying to play music everywhere. It's kinda like they dropped off the Earth.
