The Miller House Restaurant - Owensboro, KY 9.19.14 Samantha Fish - Guitar/vocals Sadie Johnson - Guitar/vocals Scott Southerland - Bass Go-Go Ray - Drums
Tremendous !!! They not only " scratch " chords or make " endless " solos ; these two women give a lesson in how you interact between two guitars and enjoying letting space . The result is a masterful performance and joy to the ear
When I first saw this video, I suffered from PTSD. I watched this video many times, and it took my mind off the hell I felt. So thank you Sadi, Samantha and whoever posted this video. It took my mind off the suffering. I'm feeling better nowadays. You have no idea how much this video helped me in those trying times. I work full-time now. Back then I was unemployed.
Doug, I too am a sufferer of this disorder that my sister suggested at one time that I just get over it! Ya think!! Anyway, God rest her soul now. It's a bitch, glad you found song, music, combination of what ever to help you. I discovered classical music was my sanity. Peace bro, best of luck to you!
I also suffer from PTSD. Music definitely helps. However, if you live in a state with medical or legal marijuana, it helps! They have been treating vets with PTSD with it for years. I like to get some stems and brew it for tea. It takes the memories and turn them into regular instead of in your face traumatic memories.
The bring on is an early so young. I love Samantha for bring her to challenge her love along with her seasoned. Once those blues bite . They aint no turning back. Amen! Keep the love going Sadie!
This is amazeballs! These women make me so happy. I started playing guitar in 1981, when I was 11, and always loved the blues, along with other genres of music....and back them, there were like....five female guitar players, in total, for me to look up to. I am so glad to see that young girls/women have taken it to the next level, and that they are just shredding. Thank the stars and the sun and the moon for these ladies!!!
Wait. Whoa! Do you hear that Tele and that Strat talking to one another? No, listen. I could listen to a conversation like this all night long. These two awesome guitarists need to collaborate a LOT more often. They sound like they've been playing together since childhood. Awesome stuff! Thanks for posting it!
Mark, I want to thank you for recognizing these 2 guitarists are musicians first, and not just talking about their legs or that they're "good female guitarists". I am a musician (bass player and piano), and I don't think of my self as separate from my male musician counterparts. We are all musicians. Never understood why folks have to point out that women musicians are somehow a separate phenomenon. I appreciate your appreciation of their talent! :-)
Sorry, I just found your comment, AKGypsy. I'm here for the tunes. I mean no insult to anyone when I say that there are billions of beautiful women in the world, but a great musician with an excellent singing voice is a lot more rare. You get two great musicians with excellent voices together, trading licks like they do in this tune, I'm turning it up and enjoying the bejeebers out of it.
Pure Genius ! One of my favourites of all time, and always guaranteed to move the emotions. These girls have such natural chemistry and ability to define what blues is all about, but this shouldn't detract from the brilliance of Scot and Gogo in the rhythm section. After a lifetime of turning my back on the blues, I am blissfully enjoying my twilight years. Well done girls and so may brilliant others - watch for the up and coming Eva Kourtes if you haven't already. From someone who just appreciate good music.
It’s funny ……. I live in the Miller house & somehow don’t remember these two playing in my home…. Just glad SOMEONE recorded it & posted it here for all to see . Thanks 😎👍.
A stellar performance you can be proud of for a life time, Samantha and Sadie. So wonderfully performed, wish I could have been there to experience it live.
This is at least the fifth, if not the tenth, time I've watched this clip. I've left comments below. I finally reached this conclusion: I'll put this jam up against any other, by anybody, at any point in history. Gotta be top 5. It's that good, in my opinion.
+Michael Colloton Sadies band opened for Sam that night. After both bands sets were done Sadie joined Sam for this one. It is too bad Caroline did not include the long bass solo Scott did at the intro. It was great, too. Sadie and Sam both are going to be at Blues From the Top at Winter Park, Co. in June '16. I plan on being there and hope they manage to play together again sometime during the festival.
Greatness happens at the Miller House! Incredible music, and I love the sassy dynamics of these two ladies. Their display of admiration and harmony adds to it all!
Masterpiece! Not far away from the guitar gods of the 20th century! This is absolutely outstanding! Both girls play with so much soul , expression and fabulous technique! Rory Gallagher is watching from above with his Fender Stratocaster ready to play with the girls! Steve Gaines and Allen Collins would have loved this duet and maybe Stevie Ray Vaughan would have jumped on the stage and joined the solo part :-)
A very real rawness here pure talent. Shes got it all!!if you can feel it, hear it smell it, taste it. To where you cant stop your body from moveing with her, shes got it.awesome joy to experience.on my i pad let alone in person .thats real talent. JJ
I've watched this video several times for a couple of reasons. First it's a great song. Second the two of you make a great combo and play with heart and soul on this.
To see both of these lovely and talented young ladies early in their careers, is to see how the girls are taking over the blues..or at least showing their mastery of it. And how anyone could not love these two special ladies wailing away on guitars while playing such iconic music is beyond me! Still don't know if I'l ever truly forgive Samantha for cutting her hair ;) and sure wish she'd pull out that guitar again!
alex hidell I saw Chantell in a pub in Hull....my home town.....She plays it like she means it, and not many people do that. There's a You Tube video of her on stage with Joe Bonamassa.
Duane Allman and Dickie Betts used to jam for what seemed like hours when you're under the spell....bringing back some great memories... lots of respect !!!
So, Samantha Fish has a friend... I'm going to have to check out the music of Sadie Johnson now. To hear 2 gorgeous women with Fenders singing that well on stage together with Samantha Fish's excellent band was really cool.

Evan Nicole Bell is another, young female Guitararist/Blueswoman that YT recommended to me yesterday. Impressive, also. 😊
It’s funny ……. I live in the Miller house & somehow don’t remember these two playing in my home…. Just glad SOMEONE recorded it & posted it here for all to see . Thanks 😎👍.
