This is my favorite era of Samantha Fish. I mean, she is way better now- Her playing is immaculate. Her look is just so. She's a stone cold professional. But feel this! She is already very good on the guitar, but she is stretching hard. The speed and relentlessness of this groove are incredibly demanding. No excuses, she wrote it herself. There are many missing notes, slightly imprecise bends, rough edges. But it doesn't matter, does it? She is following the advice of Yoda. "Do or do not. There is no try." What is so enthralling about this era of Fish is how she simply wills her vision of the song into being, nicks scratches and all. But its energy and feeling are complete. I love the absolute conviction. The fearlessness she shows. It feels like a close battle for first place in a motocross race. Now the battle is won, or has moved to a much subtler plane. It seems less heroic. I still love it, but I miss this.
I have been a blues fan since I was a kid and play guitar myself( I'm 66 yrs young). Saw this talent at the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena,Arkansas. I was impressed with her voice and guitar chops at such a young age and had a nice talk with her after her performance. Down to earth and yeah she is good looking too. Saw her last year in St. Louis, Mo. too. Glad to see someone her age carry the blues torch forward. She is the real deal and will only get better !
I can tell u all. I have traveledall over this country and have listened to blues and rockin blues in for goin on 40 yes. And this lady here is the real deal fellows. It don't get no better

To be able to play like that at the end of at least an hour long set, the entire band is excellent! Samantha is supremely talented, gorgeous and with some of the best legs in music!!
All I know about this Lady is somebody played some mighty influencing tunes to her..I'm thinking Dad or Mom..... She sure makes you feel happy ....eh boy's and girls ......
Great little band, she leads and they can follow, lovely drumming he knows when to play a nice soft shuffle and when to up his game, anyone who don't hear it and get it is musically is a lost cause, take up train spotting or stamp collecting!!!
She looks great with long hair. She's getting better on guitar too. Her technique is more articulate. She's always had a fine creative performance style. And that voice is pure gold.
FYI, she'll be performing, with her band in Flagstaff, AZ. as part of the annual Flagstaff Blues and Brews festival. She's headlining Friday June 9, 2023. Samantha Fish and band are fabulous live and recorded.

I am very sorry I missed this part of her career. This band is killer. This track reminds me of the Ten Years After set from the original Woodstock film, one of the highlights of the festival.

Samantha’s lovely singing reminds me of Candy Gibbon’s in Zephyr in the late 60’s. But Candy had Tommy Bolin on guitar and Sam sings and plays rockin guitar.
