Late to the Samantha Fish party, but love everything I can find from her - a perfect antidote to one of the strangest summers in my 62 years. This one, though belonged to Scot Sutherland - best blues bassist known to mankind (IMHO). She, Scot and Go-Go Ray can tear it UP.
This was my second time seeing her, with the third only 7 days from here. Love this song, and DAMN is she talented. (and beautiful, but you can tell) Four shows in the past six months, five overall with three more planned this summer. :) :) :) :P
Thanks so much for posting this. As Mouldytone said below, great vocals, guitar and rhythm section. I would add that Samantha Fish is a very clever guitar player. I have listened to and watched so much of her playing that I can see (and hear, and try to copy) that she uses somewhere around 10 techniques/ideas, but the brilliant thing about her is that she applies those ten techniques in such different, and appropriate ways. And her sense of melody and occasional unusual note placement is, I think, what makes her unique.
Phil Rey well everyone have the choice of their own tastes, but when I see a guitar player play some dubstep or a woman that beautiful and talented playin the blues I see hopes for musicianship
I've spent many happy times at Mason District Park, but that was many years ago and miles and miles away from where I am now. However, I will be back up that way in June to see Samantha with Buddy Guy on his farewell tour at Wolftrap. I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve, Samantha and Buddy on the same stage...
