On the grounds of the Carter House is not just some of the most fiercest fighting of the Battle of Franklin but the entire Civil War.

You failed to mention the most important event of Spring Hill. During the afternoon Hood ordered the Franklin Columbia Pike to be blocked. The General that was supposed to block the road was ordered later by a different General to move east and join the other units around the village of Spring Hill. Scofield exploited that mistake to sneak his entire Army up the Franklin Columbia Pike in the middle of the night to escape to Franklin. The Northern troops moved thousands of men up a road within two hundred yards of sleeping Confederate troops. If the road would have been blocked like Hood ordered the Federal Troops would have been slaughtered out in the open on the road. The American Battlefield Trust has helped a great deal with funding but the Battle of Franklin Trust (BOFT) and Eric Jacobson has done most of the hard work in reclaiming the Franklin Battlefield.

Thank you for watching and for commenting. The reason why this channel exists is to learn history together. As a history enthusiast and student, the main driving force behind this channel is to not only teach others and learn myself. We never know everything about every battle and that is what keeps me going on this channel is learning. You will not find a person behind the camera here that knows everything and you are right, I failed to make that important action clear. However, you explained it better than I could and actually helped clear up to me some things I was trying to understand for myself. I am no expert, but a history professional and student and this channel exists as a learning platform for myself as well.
The American Battlefield Trust indeed has been able to do a lot but at Franklin your point is crystal clear that the BOFT is the asset that is in Franklin and continues to make a difference everyday. Their organization is great and one that I now highly support. Thank you for watching and please feel free to contribute more. Anything you can add and help myself and others learn is more than welcome. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to watch and comment.

@@HistorySavior1941 Not only Northern soldiers but a lot of unionist Southerner soldiers fought here from Tennessee, Kentucky and Missouri. Nobody knows in the unionist Tennessee regiments were soldiers from North Georgia and (West) North Carolina. The 44th Missouri regiment had key role in the triumph!
