Hello Robin I love the heart in the centre of the granny square. Do you also have a tutorial using the same heart for putting the heart into a granny square without it floating above the square.
Love this pattern. But instead of cutting my yarn at the last slip stitch after the last treble crochets. I continued on slip stitching to the next 3 chain and then followed your instructions back to where i started. this way I didn't have to cut my yarn twice. then attached my other color for my square.
I'm making a temperature blanket with granny squares. I looked at a bunch of patterns including hearts for my valentine day square and yours is by far the best. Super simple and you explain very nicely.
Robin thanks so much for your generosity sharing your knowledge and patterns, I’m currently looking after my hubby who is terminal and sleeping lots of the time, I can sit and do this with my earphones in and no clacking knitting needles 😇. I’m now making a blanket full of love for a new grandchild, we just pray Grandad is spared long enough to meet him/her, thank you for facilitating this very special gift 💕💐
Beautiful pattern, GREAT video. My favorite heart pattern, and now it'll make an awesome pillow. Love the yarn and colors, oh and love your nails. Thank you ❗🧶💖
Thank you for sharing, just finnished one with a few alterations as I didn't like the big open gaps (chain 6) 🥰 LOVE it!! Now for a few more in different colors...Baby blanket in progress. Same problem here with two cats 😅
Thank you ,Robin ,for taking the time to teach this ! It is a much easier and less confusing version of the one I tried to follow right before finding your channel..No offense meant to the other lovely lady, but I personally just had a hard time following along with her instruction,no matter how I slowed down the video or stopped/started over again.Ot was a slightly more involved pattern and I even tried to write down each step as she did it on paper, and I am areasonably much experienced crocheter..It just wasn't the pattern for me! And once I started following along with yours,I realized probably why it was more to my liking, because I have made other motifs with pansies/ flowers before which made use of this " back behind chain technique " for working the granny square around the central design .I must say I did enjoy your calmness and clarity, and most of all your charming and delightful personality and sense of humor about relating to the cat hair! I am a cat lover (and don't get to see my Grand children as often as I'd like to ) so we have only one (a rare thing for me anyways!) And she is totally twisted ,entitled ,and spoiled to the core ! It's Spring ,so the Winter coat shedding has started as has hairball "gifts" she leaves for me to find and gag over! And she's just a shorthaired mess! That you for a very pleasant lesson and I look forward to learning more patterns from your videos.. now that I am retired and have time to sit and crochet!
Thank you that was fun and it's quite cute, mines a wee bit baggy too but with more practice I'm sure they will look better, thank you again your tutorial was wonderful ❤
Fan-bloody-tastic!!! 🎉 I was trying to square off your clever heart motif only the other day but kept loosing the integrity of the heart shape. Never crossed my mind to do this. I'm making/designing a blanket for my niece and I'm delighted to be able to use your heart motif after all. Thank you 💞👍🏻💖
This took a bit of trying but I think I got it it’s my first one thank you 😊 robin you make crocheting so much fun 🤩 it makes me want to crochet everything 😁
Quedo muy hermoso ❤️ a pesar que no se su idioma, pero lo hizo tan explicadito que pude entenderlo. Gracias por compartir su enseñanza Dios la bendiga 🙏 saludos desde Lima - Perú 🇵🇪
I so love all your videos Robin, they are explained so well and because of this, you are my go-to crochet teacher if I want to learn something new. Thank you so much for sparing your time to make your fab videos 💕. I'm now making so many different things 😁
@@HookedbyRobin The eyelet triangle shawl, 3min star, hair scrunchies, v stitch scarves, c2c shawls (one of my favourites), a flower garland, used your method on my kids' blankets ( as Christmas gifts) and totally nailed the chenille issue of looping so I'm very grateful for that tip 🙂 and this heart was nice and easy. The highlight of my week was making the arigurumi jellyfish though 😍 made it as a keyring in blue variegated cotton and now he's hanging from my car mirror 😂 He's my first arigurumi and was so much easier and fun to make with your video 👍
Great Granny Heart square! Planning to make it in future. I have made your Purmaid for the church fundraiser which is in coming April. Thank you. I will give credit to your name as the designer.
This is absolutely genius!! I shall find you on insta and show you how mine looks, but only after I’ve finished the whole blanket as it’s a gift for a well loved friend. I’ve been searching for a flower to use and they all look so like the one I did for my own house and wanted something different. The heart I made this afternoon, the fixing and edging I made this evening. Thankyou so much for enabling me to do such a great square!! I’m stunned.
Thank you , thank you , thank you sooo much for doing this tutorial Robin I love it and am definitely going to make up a blanket with these gorgeous squares 💖💖💖Amanda xx
🙏Thank you so much for your videos, I truly appreciate all you hard work & amazing teaching skills. I’m so happy you addressed about the chain one option when going over the previous cluster 😅… I didn’t know it was a personal choice chaining one or not because I’ve seen patterns on RUclips showing both ways.😳😅I’m fairly new at crocheting & love learning this beautiful craft 🩷☺️so now I know “I can chain one or not” its really 😂up to me and my tension 😅🙌
I really really liked it and tried to make a bag with this pattern but realized that maybe it’s not strong enough to put things in it, do you have any ideas for making bag or other things like blanket? It’s so adorable and I’m super happy with what I crocheted 💕
so im doing this with a smaller hook. fair warning when doing the orginal chains on the back of the heart u may have to drop 2 chains in orders to lose the extra bulk popping out at the bottom of the heart.
You can convert any video to a left handed mirror flipped version using a website called www.mirrorthevideo.com/ - I hope that helps! You can do it with any crochet RUclips video so opens it right up for lefties! x

Hi! I’m just wondering if I could do this being left-handed if I start on the other side?
could you do this in a traditional, non 3d granny square version please?
Bomb!!!😀
Ily
Great video.best regards.
Is there a pattern that has this crochet technique that uses spades, clubs, and diamonds?
Planning to design a poker card themed blanket.
Me ajudou muito! Obrigada!🇧🇷
So could you hook the squares together like a normal granny square blanket and turn it into one? I don’t see why it wouldn’t work!?
Yes absolutely!
This is absolutely gorgeous by the way! ♥️
if i wanted to make the granny square diamond shaped with a right side up heart, what stitch would i start working on to form it? 🤔🤔🤔
I did the heart and square, first time round. Not too bad. Just the point on my heart attached to the blue looks odd.
How do you turn other appliques into granny squares, such as a star, or a Marijuana leaf ? I'm just a newbie... ;)
I made coasters😁
Can you tell me the colour of the grey wool used please? Love this granny heart shape and it’s a great tutorial
Any way to see how to do this without it being on top of the square?? Please
Love your heart pattern. I’ve been making them and love them. I’m left handed can I make the square?
