Thanks for the info. One of the earlier yellow flashes looks almost like a chop (usually red) on calligraphic scrolls.
Why did he bother copyrighting it? Who would be able to exploit this work and why?
Some of his work inspired mainstream cinema. Think about some credits and intros, like in Se7en.
